Hello friends,
I am new (and dumb too) to XDA and all the root and all these things.
I just rooted and unlocked bootloader of my Xperia S.
and flashed the Jelly bean AOSP ROM as in following thread.
[ROM]JB AOSP 4.2.1 alpha 2
I was playing in recovery mode and I don't which option I choose but I think something like "Wipe Partitions" or "Format partitions"
After that I rebooted phone but it just went dead.
I think the battery was low (~15%) when I messed up.
Now it's not responding to anything, no boot, no recovery mode, no fastboot, no flash mode,(vol + or vol - with power) :crying:
Only thing was that I put it on wall charger at 2:00 am (no LED), at morning 10::am RED LED was strong on, but still no fastboot and flash mod e while connecting to pc :crying:
Still I kept on charging whole day ( I saw some threads regarding XPERIA S UNBRICK )
now after ~8hours, connected to pc but still detection.
Also I want to mention that When LED was on while charging and the I connected to pc , IF LED went ON , then phone not detected by computer.
and after sometime the LED went off , then Device says it connected as in screen shot below, but no fastboot or flashmode.
Please help me. Sorry for bad representation.
Hi, the i'm not a phone wizz but it happen't to me a few days ago as well. Tried everything almost bought a new phone because i thought it was bricked....
Now it's alive and kickin'.
For me worked:
Mine randomly started up till the battery was empty, 2-3min and that was enough.
Download the Emma flashtool, it's from Sony itself.
Install the flashtool and start it..let it settle.
With the red light on when it starts try to get it in plug in the usb in the phone (it's already connected in the pc) while holding the volume button down, and when you're lucky the flashtool will recognize the phone and will collect the correct software/ROM/kernel. Just hit the install/repair button and that worked for me, it installed the correct software and it was alive again...
Wish you all the luck.

Thank you for your reply.
I did it but when connected phone with vol - , red LED was strong on , but device didn't detected by OS, nor Emma, nor with flashtool.
but after 1 minute the LED went off and at the same moment device detected in PC OS (as sound of new hardware detected sound of windows heard) and flashtool log was-
09/042/2013 22:42:12 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
09/042/2013 22:42:12 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
no response from Emma. Also no flashboot or fastboot :crying:
Have installed the fastboot drivers for your phone?
If you connect your phone with vol- or vol+ you shouldn't get a red light, it should be blue or green.
Try charge phone for a while then download a jellybean kernel (e.g. *.sin file), then adb push the kernel to the phone. Boot into recovery and refresh rom.
This will require adb and drivers both available in the flashpoint folder.

OK I will try. But the phone RED LED going on as a charging indicator only.
(Generally when phone shuts down at 0% battery and if we boot it up without charging, it turns on and turn off , after i fyou connect the charger, the instance the RED LED goes on but screen remains blank, After sometime the screen shows charging battery )
the same case is happening with me.
Should I remove battery, will it void its warranty?

So u can charge ur phone? It sounds like all u need to do is reinstall a kernel then a rom. No need to remove battery. If you connect urban phone to a usb, when off, and hold a volume key you should not get a red led. You get a red led when u don't have flashmode and/or fastboot.

Have you tried a 'hard' reset of the phone/power.
Phone may be in a loop with power still on or some other state.
Hold the power button -and- volume up button for a good 10 seconds.
You may feel the phone vibrate once then a few seconds later it vibrates three times in rapid succession.
This should indicate the phone is powered down.
If powered down, it may then be able to recharge itself and if you're lucky show a battery charging icon.
When recharged, I'd use SEUS to reload the stock firmware.
Good luck.

Its getting red LED because battery is not charging I think.
And can You explain the process written or a link to tutorial .
One more question
Will my warranty be void if I remove my Battery?

Step 1 - Download a kernel.
Download a kernel like nova (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35055975). this will Download a zip file, open the file and extract the file kernel.elf. note nova is a jellybean kernel.
step 2 - Push the kernel file to the phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23181182
[Xperia S][INFO][REF] All that u need to know before u begin
Step 3 - boot the phone into recovery and install a Rom zip file then reboot.
Step 4 - hit thanks.
Not sure about removing the battery. I have never need to do it.I guess it would be ok if you don't damage anything or break any security seals. Btw u know when u charge your phone when the battery is below 90% it displays a red light hey.

Make sure your phone is absolutely off
Put it to a cool place like refrigerator for a couple of hours
then flash a kernel so fast by fastboot.exe
If works you can full charge your device and you are lucky.

But once hard power off. If you turn back on. Nova boot will start yes? And then keep hitting the volume up repeatedly and it'll enter twrp recovery?

What version of ROM are you using?
Possible Fixes.
(50% Charge is called Factory Charging)
On a working phone there are different stages of a battery's charging cycle.
The stages are listed in order they happen.
The cycle goes from a completely dead battery through a phone running on battery and back to a completely dead battery.
1. Dead battery. No response from the power button, no screen and no led.
2. Connect to charger
3. Low battery level charging mode.
This is when just the RED led is on and no screen.
At this stage the battery's charge is to low to turn the phone on, but it is charging.
4. Kernel controlled off-line charging mode.
This is when the battery has charged enough from step (3) and boots the kernel to charge the battery.
5. The phone is off, but could be turned on using the power button.
A quick press of the power button will show this battery icon. Icon will fill with charge.
The kernel also controls charging when the phone is on.
6. Battery is fully charged.
7. Unplug the phone and turn on.
8. Battery is dead or discharges quickly from normal use. Repeat stages starting at (1)

Hello, i have just registered to the forums, but i already follow xda for a long time. So here is my problem, i have already installed "ICS JJ's Hybrid Rom" on my Xperia Arc S without trouble at all, but now that i want to try a new rom i'm facing a big problem with fastboot.. I have tried to go FastBoot pressing Menu/Back button and plug in the phone, i tried to reboot in fastboot by X-Parts/Rom Manager and so on, but no luck untill now, and i dont know what is the problem since i don't even get blue light when i try to do it.
Yes i have installed flashtool drivers for the phone, basically green light appears instead of blue, the phone goes on black screen and after 5-10 seconds it disconnects.
I don't know if you guys need more information or not but i think im doing everything correctly, because i have tried countless guides and videos.
I would really appreciate some help if possible, thanks.
Have you actually unlocked your bootloader?
as i said, i have [ICS]JJ's Hybrid Rom on my Xperia Arc right now, so yes i had to unlock bootloader to install it.
JJ's hybrid works on locked bootloaders too. Have you flashed any custom kernel

If you get green light, you are turning your phone into flashmode and not fastboot. Hold down Menu button and then connect the cable.
I know that i enter fastboot with holding menu button but it just doesnt work, the only way it works is with Emma (Sony FlashTools) and it appears green light as well when i do it.

as long as you cant do the power+vol up till it vibrates 3 times, u cant connect to flashtool/fastboot.
imo, what u can do now: charge the phone for some hours then do the power+vol up again. if it still wont vibrates, leave it for couple of days, hoping the battery will drain, then charge it, do the same process. still wont vibrates (or if u want faster way), bring it to sony service center.

hi guys...
I don't speak English well so i'm sory for my bad english
I will try as possible to clarify the problem and what exactly happened and I hope you understand what I mean
i have sony Xperia S lt26i with unlocked bootloder i flashed it with stock kernal and rom ics 6.1.A.2.55
and i rooted it via EROOT TOOLS and i flashed in to it the CWM recovery
my phone work well until yesterday .. I was trying to experience many of applications and games that i downloaded recently
So I was make a backup for my rom through CWM recovery..Then i started to install those games and apps ..Some of them had been working well and the others caused some problems and error and my phone Become more Slowly and less responsive, and i had got some time freezing even after the uninstalling those programs and games.
So I decided to restore the previous systems through CWM..so opened cmw interface and i restored my backup until it show me the restoring complete and i need to restart my phone ...
Here the problem began after reboot .. my phone got stuck in sony logo startup screen and won't to login into android system or shutting down or cmw even when i press the power key... until i think the battery got empty .. so i connect my phone to charging it. after that the phone show the red light (charging mod) and after 10 minutes then the screen back to lighting again and it stuck in sony logo until the battery empty
i had trying to press the power key +volume up it restart the phone but the same problem still... even i had trying to put it into flashmod or fastboot but the phone won't to response to any of this 2 mode .. even when connecting the phone with pc .. the pc not see it at all
so what i can do.... help me please
my life is still parked since yesterday
Check if the fastboot and flashmode drivers are properly installed on your pc.

Hold volume up and power button for 10-15 seconds, until you feel one vibration, and then after a while u will feel 3 continuous vibrations.. Then the phone is fully turned off.. Now connect to PC in flash mode and flash a new rom with kernel..
Good luck..!
