I've never used ADW, I considder it to heavy in an overloaded system.....
Using loauncher PRo I just switched the defauts and it booted using the new launcher ....
This seems a thing of the past...
settings -application -ADW - default is grayed out
setting it in hollo to standard app does not have any effect ?.
I'm using hollo launcher but can not get it to fix. as the default launcher, so jumping from one launcher in the other
is there a clear description to ERASE ADW completely from the CM system and replace it in working order by the holo launcher
-without 1000 bootloops and 1000 switchovers and system restores, and reinstalls.
I would prefer a zip to remove the system application and reintroduce the new launcher does one exist how reliablae are they.?

well if you use holo it's simple you don't need a zip...install hollo and then any launcher you like (in my case xperia launcher), then reboot, on restart the sistem asks wich launcher to use you mark the the "use this by default" button, then when you start the launcher you want, then go to holo, opemn it, go to app drower and pres the central fisical button, it will ask which launcher to use for that action, again mark the launcher you want (by pressing "use äction this by default", now you go to holo launcher, open launcher settings, and in the first menu optios search for USE DEFAULT LAUNCHER and choose the one you chose twice before, restatr (you will see the launcher you want by default). If you just want to replace ADW launcher you will find you cant case CM7 team integrated it in sistem so what you need to do is to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028884 and search for launcher2 android stoch launcher (wich will replace ADW and erace it's integration within system so when you do the steps abowe if you use root explorer to delete the new launcher it wont case bootloops case the new one is not intergated with sistem). Sorry for the long ansewer and for any misstakes in my writing

Procedure works correct for launcher but. For holo it seems to fail direct replace of adw. And launcher indirect. Continues to ask the question...which to chose...
Found holo zip only this does the trick
Thanks anyway

Very glad with the work done
But sometimes a pusher for results( nothing bad intended)

I loved advanced launcher when i had my vogue. It runs alongside any other launcher, only adds some features i can't seem to find anywhere now, especially the ability to group apps in the drawer into folders WITHIN the app drawer itself...thus, no long lists of apps to scroll through. I was also able to temporarily hide apps that weren't used, putting them into a hidden file. Available to reuse whenever i wanted. Is there any way to bring this to 2.1 or Froyo? Here is the link to the original post of irrenhaus... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540880 (of few of his screenshots below)
or just import utilities portion?
I guess it is possible to include the launcher utilities into another launcher...

(post #879) ...but has anybody attempted this? or is anyone with knowledge willing to try to import it into one of the currently popular launchers that are incorporated into CM6?
really nobody can point me in any direction??
not sure if this is what your looking for, but i posted something that may be related to your request. I'm guessing that advanced launcher is different than ADW.Launcher. if yes, don't forget that adw allows for an extra set of menus by doing an upward swipe over the 'app drawer' icon.

i'm thinking that QuickDesk and/or SmartShortcuts may be of help.
quickdesk basically creates a desktop that is visible after a long press on the search button. you can can access this desktop at any time.
smartshortcuts allow you to 'group' applications, bookmarks and/or contacts.
the link above has some screenshots.

Is it possible to configure homescreens and widgets, save them as a theme, and then be able to save the different themes/scene configurations so that you can switch from one to the other?
Yes, they are called Scenes, ironically enough. Press the menu key on the home screen and choose scenes.
under my scenes i have one called 1st homescreen; however it doesn't allow me to create or save another theme other than that one - that's my question, is there a way of doing it. i currently use launcher pro.

BUMP I too use launcher pro and would like to be able to use scenes. I can create and save them while in sense but when I choose them in launcher, all it does is change the wallpaper. Is there an app that will change the icon settings as well as the wallpaper in a predefined way like scenes does with sense? If not, is there a way to get scenes to work correctly using launcher pro?
You cannot save widgets in Launcher pro, only the programme settings.
Hey everyone. Im running the newest bulletproof miui and i downloaded alt drawer since miui doesnt have an app drawer. I hid almost all my apps so their only accessible through alt drawer but i cant seem to hide things like calculator, spare parts voice dialer, etc. I have to keep them in a folder to try to clean up the homescreen. Is their any way to hide these as access control doesnt seem to give me the option? i dont want to install a 3rd party launcher as i try to keep things minimal and fast. Help?

I really don't think that an app drawer application is necessary, since you can just create a miui folder, name it "app drawer" and pull it to the main-bar at the bottom. You even can sort it by name or usage - It will behave just like sense's (2.0) app drawer.
Well, system apps can't be removed in miui - unless you change the launcher, I think.
i installed cm10 a5 , everything works fine but theres something bugging me
how do i arrange the apps in the app drawer?
normally i would just have to touch it after a few second and drag it around
but now, if i touch it, the apps will go to the homescreen
i wonder if this is normal or theres a way to arrange the apps?
Nope. In the app drawers, everything is fixed according to Alphanumeric order.
You can install another launcher if you want to group apps within the app drawer
and as launcher i recommend you Nova launcher, it's superb and light
check it out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389071
I know that Google default launcher in the Nexus series (not TouchWiz, not Sense) does not have the capability to create folders in the App Drawer.
Does anyone know any mods to add this feature?
PS: I know about "use other launcher", but I like Google default launcher. I tried Nova and the folders CANNOT be arranged. I tried Go Launcher and for some reason bog downs my tablet.
Since I received no response, I assume this cannot be done.
So I will change the question:
If I create folders on the home screen to group all the apps, I will have about 10 different folders. Since these are like "Widgets", will this have any impact on battery? Basically I will have 10 widgets (the folders) and 3 other widgets.
