So sometime starting last week my volume on my calls became extremly low.I made sure my volume was maxed but I still had trouble hearing people. So I tried wiping my cache and dalvik cache and BAM back to normal sound.I have no idea what caused it being that Im on the original stock rom, rooted though, and it just started out of the blue.Figured I would post this in case anyone else has the same problem.Hope it helps someone!

I'm having the same issue. How did you wipe your cache? I using a stock unrooted phone. Thanks!
Not sure if there's any fix for stock non-rooted phones for this issue...

I have cm7 and all of a sudden someone called me and they were saying they couldn't hear me so i called someone else and they said it sounded like i was in a different room yelling to my phone doesn't anyone have the same problem or anyone have a solution
Try rebooting the phone a couple of times. If that doesnt work you may need to wipe your phone, cache, and dalvik-cache like three 3 times and then reflash cm7. A reboot should fix it though.

thanks for the help guys but i just took it to sprint and got a new phone and rooted it
As the title say, whenever i make a call or someone calls me i can't hear anything on the other side but they can hear me.
It started suddenly a few days ago, a temporary fix was to keep restarting my phone until it works again but it usually only works for one call and after that its back to no noise. I already tried unrooting, going back to stock and wiping my data completely so its factory reset but the issue still remains.
Thank you for taking the time to read my problem and i hope to read any advice you might have for me.
Cant hear and mic doesnt work but call is made?? help

I can make a call but have no audio or earpiece.....cant seem to find help either
Are you on a particular rom? Did u flash any kernels recently?

People have been complaining about not being able to hear me during calls. I had someone call my home phone from my cell and the voice sounds extremely muffled and quiet; however, regular voice recorder through a separate apps works fine.
I'm running the latest radio (UVMC6). This problem started while using the ParanoidAndroid ROM. I have since switched to HellyBean but that has not fixed the problem. Toggling noise supression doesn't seem to fix the issue either...any ideas?
only thing i can recommend is try a clean install format system in mounts and storage, and wipe data factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik ,and try to flash the ROM again to see if the problem is still there you pretty much have tried everything which is good. do you remember any ROM where this issue was not occurring ???

I was using SlimStar before PA and the first few build of PA seemed fine as well. Started happening about a month ago. I did a clean install going from PA to Helly. I'll try it again and see if it works.
Also the new PA roms have been using custom kernels , PAC is really picky the way it boots up and if you don't have the MC6 radio and a certain kernel sometimes wont boot i know this has nothing to do with your issue but just thought I'd let you know. and is just muffled or literally really low volume ??have you tried with headphones to see if this problem is there ??
Seems to happen randomly to some on 4.2.2 roms.
Only thing I can suggest is TW 4.1.2 roms.

Still no dice... Currently running Shadow 1.4 ROM and call recipients still complain about my voice being too quiet/dropping in and out.
Could it be a hardware issue perhaps?

Yup. Bad microphone? Get any water in it? Or a carrier issue...bad signal? I assume you have newest radio...or it wouldn't work at all.
Did you try a couple 4.1.2 roms to be sure. Maybe even try stock....or ics even. Just to be sure.
Did you go into phone settings and check enable noise surpression.

I had this phone for 5 months now and within that period i'm having this sound issue..when you listen to music after a few mins the sound freezes and also everything that involves audio is silent even phone calls the only to restore back is to restart phone then its OK but after a while it gets back to the problem..I was running the stock 4.1.2 at that time so was thinking of an update so i did upgrade it to 4.3 tru kies but still having the audio problem,i've been doing what others suggested factory reset or wipe cache but this doesn't solve the issue..its really annoying how you missed messages and calls from your bosses if you know what i mean..in fact while i'm doing this post i just finished resetting again my phone..
I've been searching around goggling this issue it seems i'm not the only one having this problem but i failed to look for solutions to this issue so please if you know something i would be very pleased if you may share how to solve it..thanks a lot

I think this is a motherboard problem already....
Good day!
Since today my m8 only records loud noise through the mic..
For example if I record a voice note you only hear loud distorted noise, like when you are searching for the right Radio frequency, and my voice is very very quite..
I never dropped the phone and never get any physical damage..
Can anyone help me or does anyone have an idea or experienced the Same issue?
Thanks in advance
Nqnh
I have the same issue and have no idea if its a firmware issue or what. I hadn't noticed the issue until I came across your other post in lyapota's kernel thread.
Hopefully someone knows what the issue is and how to correct it.
Okay, I did a clean reinstall of arhd and now everything is back to normal... But still have no clue where the issue came from

And we will never know now that you've done a clean install
Next time, try a dirty flash of your ROM.
It'll often fix stuff up, and you won't lose any data.
Just reflash your ROM, and only wipe dalvik and cache.
I have that same issue. I did clean install ARHD but that's not solved my problem.
And while talking with someone they can't hear my voice.
I think thats hardware problem. I'll send it to warranty service :/
Weird, just started having the issue 2 weeks ago as well. Tried different roms, flashed new firmware etc... Nothing
