Hello Guys,
I am currently on Shpongle and want to move back to stock. Reason being frequent hanging and sluggishness. I have installed the swap performance updates and greenify, but still at times, the phone gets the better of my patience.
MY Questions:
1. How do I go back to stock? I dont think I have the stock nandroid backup. I have the Unlock_code.bin that was sent by HTC.
2. Is there a lightweight Sense ROM? I like the camera, and looks, but I dont like the friendfeed and stuff.
Thanks.

You can use myONEv RC9.5FX+ or Ignorance X for a lighter Sense ROM. You can remove the bloatware with titanium backup as well.

yes it won't look as nice though, since it has internal theming for Ignorance X skin.

Thank you. Its about to complete downloading. I will install it soon. Will use Titanium Kernel.
Thanks MameTozhio, you are very helpful!
A few questions about it
Sorry for my mistake, please remove it
Hi people.
My device is curretly like this:
N9005
Knox 0x1
TWRP recovery
Stock Kernel
Stock ROM 4.4.2
I would like to return completly to stock. I know I won't be able to be Knox 0x0 again but I want the stock recovery, kernel and ROM.
My question is: can I simply restore the firmware in Kies to get back to stock (including the recovery)?
Stock Rom: http://www.idroidspace.com/primou-original-stock-rom-for-htc-one-v-android-4-0-3-ics/
Stock Kernel and Recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1221449&d=1343236979
I can't tell you if this stock rom is the original one by htc or with some modifications, I only found it and there are much more ruu uploads out there.

Thanks for the links. I have a problem. I decided I want to go back to comfortable stock ROM. I used a custom ROM, on a rooted HTC One V (GSM - Primo U). I followed the intructions: First I installed stock kernel and stock recovery. After I relocked the bootloader. I downloaded the RUU file according to my region (there are 4 european RUU version???). I connected my phone to computer and run the downloaded setup and followed the steps. Only after I started the update process, the progress bar stopped moving (before entering bootloader - the HTC One V didn't reboot into bootloader) and I got an error (155) message. What may be the problem? I have tried the all RUU files according to my region.
Thanks in advance,
Tejcsi

First, install a custom recovery again. Then do a full wipe and install the rom you downloaded (PrimoU_Europe_2.22.401.1_Stock_Rooted_ODEX_FULL.zip or PrimoU_Europe_2.22.401.1_Stock_Rooted_ODEX_LITE.zip) with the custom recovery like you would install a custom rom. Then reboot to fastboot and flash boot.img (not boot-signed.img because this didn't work for me). Try to reboot and if everything works you may install recovery_signed.img, but this is only useful for ota updates, which obviously the hov doesn't get anymore.

Thanks. Yesterday I've installed the PrimoU_Europe_2.22.401.1_Stock_Rooted_ODEX_FULL.zip ROM, everything O.K., but there is no WIFI on my phone. So I decided to use the RUU. So I don't use boot_signed.img. Which boot.img can I use. Do you send me one?

I don't really understand your problem. If you want to reboot into bootloader just use adb reboot bootloader.
I have an Arc S with ICS, since I upgraded to ICS the telephone are incredible slow
I realy want to use this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2083286
But I have never use roms/flash a phone before and thinking about follow those:
Unlocked booter
1. Flash Stock .62 / .42
2. Root and install CWM
3. Download the rom and your device patch from downloads and put them in SD Card
4. Boot into recovery
5. Wipe Data/factory reset
6. Go to advanced-Wipe Dalvik Cache and go back
7. Go to Mounts and Storage-Format /System and go back
8. Flash the rom and device patch and wifi modules
9. Reboot and enjoy the Dual Core Xperia Arc and Arc S
But here are a few questions:
1. What means Stock. 62/ 42?
2. Where can I download CWM?

Ok, does it mean that I need to have 62/42 on my phone, because I have ICS(official) on my phone for the moment.
Are there any people here who have tried this rom lately? Seems to be very stable, or are there any other rom that are even more stable?
Also the member on this forum, XtremeSilencer. Who made this app is banned, why? Is it something with the app?

62/42 means you have to have original firmware with build number 4.0.2.A.0.42 or 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Are you going to unlock your bootloader?
Because if you had done it already you dont need to flash first the stock GB .62/.42, and the atomic rom itself (or a kernel) installs automatically the CWM.
If you dont want to unlock it, then yes, the instructions you paste are the ones you must follow.

If i recall correctly he was banned because of his attitude, kinda arrogant.
And, dont know if its "official" but there is a 8.0 version in the last pages.

I used this rom for quite a while and i was very content with it. Fastest rom i've tried so far, stable (almost no crashes or things like that) and everything is working fine (like hdmi or notification led).
He got banned because he created a 2nd account here on xda which is not allowed. He also disrespected other rules but there's nothing wrong with the rom itself.

Haha lol, no
Don't unlock your bootloader if you have no idea how to do it.
You will find steps 5-7 in cwm recovery. Please inform yourself about how to flash a rom (root, boot to cwm etc.), otherwise you will screw things up eventually.

Don't ask. Comparing ROM is forbidden on XDA. Try the ROM out yourself and see which one suits you best. If you continue to ask for "the most stabilized ROM", I will call for a mod to close this thread.

Hi im not a total noob but I have never updated my phone as was looking for the simplest way to do so. I also have a few questions for when ive done so. Im currently on 4.4.2 rooted soff and have been advised to update so I can get a working kexec so I can install multirom properly.
will I need to reroot and unlock bootloader after?
Is there a risk of bricking.
thanks.

Sir if you were in rooted condition and gladly also in S-OFF, you're free to do anything , i mean rather than fallback to stock, just flash any custom rom you want but also flash it's correlated firmware.
Thank You

If I'm you, I rather update my device to 4.4.4 first as you're running the older firmware so all you can enjoy is simply CM based rom whereas the lastest GPE and sense based rom may not work properly since you're still using the older firmware.
Is it better for me to return to stock update everything and reroot rather than updateing Rom and firmware seperately

The easiest way is to get s off, then go superCID
You download the firmware zip, rename it to 0P6BIMG.zip. Put that on your extCSD and boot into hboot.
That's it. Your phone does the rest.
You can read more about it here.

I understand you not wanting to mess your phone. It is always best not to proceed if you are unsure.
I'm not sure what carrier you are on, but for the normal international model, you will want to download this firmware to use in the method I explained.
Some American carriers have different firmware, so if you on an American carrier, let me know which one and I will provide you with the proper download to update to 4.4.4
The best thing about this method over an RUU is that you won't lose any data.

I have TWRP installed.
You can flash a sense rom from TWRP. There are many stock based roms that have few optimizations.
Try Viper, ICE, Leedroid, Sky Dragon, Bad Boyz (might not have international support).
There are also a few stock rooted roms around. It's very easy to flash from recovery. Just make sure you are on the most current Firmware for your device.
If you are looking to go stock with no extras, THIS might be what you are looking for (also elaborates on the write protection issue you are having)
Ooops. I didn't realize your device was the M8s. I think it's kind of silly it's in the same forum, but oh well. Sorry for the confusion.

ahhhhh. I see. Didn't realize this was the M8s they were talking about. I thought it was the M8 general. Thank you for pointing that out. I was wondering why it was so hard for them to find a stock ROM....
Found a fix guys. Will post here if someone has the same issue:
1. boot TWRP, try flashing recovery, get the error
2. go to mount in twrp and turn on mount system as read only, then try flash again
3. go back into mount, turn off mount system as read only, then tap system
4. start the restore, this fixed it for me

Oh wow yes sorry relock bootloader by fastboot oem lock. Also if you changed your cid should match the ruu you want to flash.

If you don't know how to revert back to stock HTC firmware, you have no business flashing custom ROMs. Plus....did you even google your inquiry? No.
Search the forums.

Did you unlock the bootloader yourself? If so, you know enough about fastboot to relock the bootloader.
Also, if you do fastboot getvar all, and post the result (delete IMEI and serial number) we can see the CID, and determine what RUU (if that CID has one).
Or the other option to go back to Sense Marshmallow, is to restore a stock TWRP backup as suggested. Here is another thread of such stock TWRP backups, and this one has better instructions:

EDIT: Fixed the link above, which was clearly not the right one (intended for a reply to a different thread).

While the post was not particularly polite (nor is he required to be so), I do agree with the main point: if you are flashing custom ROMs, you really should have researched how to return to stock. I see that a lot of folks skip this (you aren't the only one, by far), but I also don't see why they do. Would you take apart your car's engine without knowing how to put it back together? Probably not.
Along those basic lines (good rules of thumb for phone modding), if you had simply made your own backup of the stock ROM before flashing a custom ROM; you could simply just restore that backup in order to revert to stock. It's a basic good practice: never do any mods (root, custom ROM) without first making a TWRP backup.

Thank you and yes. I should have known better before flashing an RR ROM I didn't search for it because i thought it was simple

Modding phones is not simple. You should research and understand everything properly, before you do any mods to any device. Maybe all the YouTube guides and one-click root apps make phone modding look easy, but it's really not a trivial thing.
Maybe it's just my own personality. But to me, it's basic logic that you shouldn't tinker with an electronic device that cost hundreds of dollars, without having some backup plans, knowing how to undo the mods, etc.

You can do either (restore stock TWRP backup vs. run RUU). That is, assuming your version M8 has an RUU, not all do (and you haven't given any info that would allow us to determine that).
I already said that restoring a stock TWRP backup was an option, and it was also suggested by another (Post #8 above). So I don't now what you asked that question. Obviously it's something you can do; otherwise why would we say it was?
Keep in mind that a stock TWRP backup is not exactly the same as a flashable ROM. You need to extract the files, save them to the proper place on the phone, then use the RESTORE option in TWRP (as opposed to INSTALL for flashable ROMs). The process (and required files) can be found on the following thread (I tried to give this link above, but linked it improperly - so here it is again):

That's good. You can even try different Sense ROMs, not necessarily going back to stock ROM.

I wish I could try Resurrection Remix too. but unfortunately I cant use all of Naugat ROMs
Why dont you also try some of the ROMs other then pure M8 ROM, e.g. M10 Sense ROM etc? I am running M10 ROM and its fantastic.
I always be with the positive and jolly vibes and encourage others to be like this
