I have 7100 with 4.1.1 (not rooted) and have been playing with the sidebar after searching threads about it.
I'd like to add different apps to the sidebar and I know that this isn't available yet without rooting, BUT I found that one downloaded app - Total Commander file manager - appears on the sidebar edit screen and I can add it to the sidebar.
What is special about this app that it breaks the rule?
Will the no-edit rule change with 4.1.2 ?
The apps that I open from the sidebar don't allow windowing - will this change with 4.1.2 ?
Maybe I will root it but I'm not yet confident enough to try...
I think only a few apps have the feature to use multi widow, and rooting is really easy, one package to flash via odin in download mode
Sent from my Note II using smoke signals
i don't think there will be a way to add any app to the sidebar without rooting. third party apps like Total Commander or gReader add Multiwindow support by themselves, so if you want an app to support multiwindow ask to the developers to add that feature.. or you can root your phone
Thanks for the replies guys.
The programs on the sidebar don't actually multiwindow - it's just another way of opening them. Will that change with 4.1.2?
Expect I will root it eventually, just not ready yet..

Gotcha! I was clicking on the icon instead of dragging it.

The most that can be done in your case without root is to download a launcher from the market ADW, launcher pro etc.

We'll have some roms, but the question is how soon. I would assume we'd have to wait 2 more weeks for a rom and probably a few more days for root access. Btw your welcome.

you can change fonts by going under settings display..and clicking the first option there should be something under there to change fonts...and if you want different icons on your home screens download desktop visualizer and an icon pack and put those there instead.
I've been looking everywhere for an answer to this.. I'd like to be able to program one of the pie slices pull out the multi window tab instead of holding down the back button. For some reason whenever I use the back button, it messes with whatever I was doing and I thought that this would be a better way to utilize this pie function. Thanks in advance guys.I'm new to all this, I've looked throughout the forums for the specific script that pulls the multi window out because I know you can program LMT pie to do this, just gotta figure out the code. It's a pretty good idea!
I'm running JM 10, no Kernels ( haven't figured out how to install those or what they even do for me) if that helps.

Have you tried MyRom Revolution V5.1. The LMT Pie is included, and with the Aroma Package you can add other themes and some android 4.2 stuff(I personally just get the 4.2 camera for photosphere and the Big weather screen). There is also a number of kernels you can try to get better performance or battery life. Hope that was helpful.
Re: LMT pie launcher and Multi-Window function. Help?
I haven't tried that ROM myself. I'm new to the custom ROM and rooting scene.I had JM8 and then upgraded to JM10. I've got 4.2 photosphere and LMT pie on here as well. Works great. I'm basically just trying to make one of the pie slices pull the multi window tab out. Only reason I'm now trying out other ROMs is because I absolutely NEED WiFi calling in my area due to coverage issues.. but thanks!

I can't remember, but can't you program lmt to perform intents, actions, and shortcuts? If so, you could use tasker if all else fails. You also have gestures with lmt as well. Hope this helps.

Yes. You can program LMT to perform all of these functions, but the only thing is, I don't know what the command is to pull out the multi window tab. I'm hoping some developers could help me figure out the command so I can configure my LMT pie control to have a slice that would simply pull out the bar for me. It'd be quite convenient. What's this 'tasker' you were talking about though?

Bump I would like this info as well
ive also been trying to get this to work as well trying to use the 'key' function which inputs a arbitrary key but havent found it that way. Not that it helps but lock screen is 6 and phone recents is 5
Also to get this working using tasker you would still need to know the activity..I use tasker and havent figured it there either. Plus i cant get any tasker tasks to run from pie commands yet
I probably should add im using a verizon phone and running jelly beans 12 ROM
Re: LMT pie launcher and Multi-Window function. Help?
Glad to hear I'm not the only one trying to figure it out. Basically all we need to figure out is the command that toggles the multi-window function just like a GPS toggle or a wifi toggle. I'm not smart enough to figure it out unfortunately.

Hey all, it's my understanding that Halo and PIE are built to work on AOSP based roms. I would love to go back to the stability and bonus features of sense, but having to have the menu button eyesore at the bottom of most apps is a deal-breaker. Is there any possibility of getting these addons working on a sense based rom? If not, are there any apps with similar features that can be used with sense?
I would also like to add a torch option on the quick settings menu if that could be done. I realize I can download a flashlight app, but I have been spoiled with having quick access to it on iOS 7 and AOSP.
Flash bonestock. It has a torch toggle, and also go to settings, display, and check "longpress home for menu"

Floating Notifications is an app that is as close as you can get to Halo. There is a free trial period for about 30 days.
As far as pie control, I think there is a launcher called LMT Launcher in the play store that has a pie-like fixture.

LMT launcher works, but it's not in the play store. it's on XDA though. just search for it.
pie control (which is in the play store) works as well, just not as neat as LMT.
sometimes, though, with LMT, it takes a few tries to get an app to start. it's annoying. if pie control showed the time and other notifications like LMT does, it'd be so much better.
Both of these look good. Do they allow you to disable the stock menu button?

Do you mean the three dots button? You can install a custom rom to do that or xposed has several modules that let you do that. Try Sense 5 Toolbox module.

technically yes, they can be ported, for example IHTFP69 ported HALO to TW on Samsung. No one said it could be done, he is a genius.

Replying here instead of in your thread in case anyone else is searching for this answer.
I am loving the rom so far, but I have two questions. The menu bar is gone almost everywhere, but it's still present in dolphin browser. Is there any way to fix that? It doesn't show at all on AOSP. LMT launcher is every bit as good as pie and the menu button being there prevents it from working properly.
I also don't seem to have a torch/flashlight widget in the quick settings. There is an app though which I can make work for me if there's no way to get it in quick settings. Just a minor personal preference.
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I got the menu bar removed by changing a setting under display and gestures. It has the unfortunate side effect of making a long press on the home key open the menu as well, but it's still better than the always-present menu button.

I wanted to switch my bottom buttons to the familiar HTC order, "Home, Menu, Back" but LG does not offer this option. While finding a solution, I found a pretty cool program that most probably already know about, but some might not. It allows you to do what I needed to do, plus much more.

Step 1: Goto the Google Play Store and download, "G2 Xposed" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tinyroar.xposedlgg2).
Step 2: Download the Xposed Installer APK and install it.
Step 3: Launch the Xposed Installer.
Step 4: Go to the "Framework" section and click on "Install/Update."
Step 5: Reboot
Step 6: Launch the Xposed Installer again and go to the "Modules" section (you will also get there if you click on the notification warning you that the module is not enabled yet).
Step 7: Enable the LG G2 module by checking the checkbox.
Step 8: Reboot.
Step 9: Enjoy.

So are y'all confirming Xposed works on stock rooted phones?
I didn't think stock kerenels came with init'd enabled.
I lost my S Pen. Not a huge issue since I rarely used it. But the icon is very annoying.
There are plenty of Xposed mods for other icons (battery icon, battery full notification, smart stay, etc). Would someone be able to create one for the S Pen Removed icon too (recommended shortcuts removed would be icing on the cake)?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.
