I've tried searching online and the settings on my phone with no luck.
I prefer to use Visual Voicemail in favor of the standard voicemail however I get 2 notifications for every voicemail (one for visual voicemail and another for the standard voicemail)
Is they a way to turn off the notifications from the standard voicemail?
Thanks for any help

if you cant find it in the VVM settings you can go to application manager, find VVM and uncheck "display notifications"
Same here. I use the visual vm app also and don't want the regular vm notification to show just the visual vm notification. I can't seem to find an option anywhere for that

Along the same lines- I get a text from 6351 about NASCAR or some racing stuff. Did you cancel the texting service or block the number?
Stock app should filter it out. If you use go sms you can blacklist the number so it don't show up.

I save that number as a contact than i used sms pop-up to set a notification for it. Once I did that i used the no pop-up and alert option. So now I no longer get that text on my screen it just happen in the background without me ever knowing. Pretty sweet.

Stock sms app don't have a blacklist option. I know handcent sms do but I don't really care for it

if using go sms or handsent you need to change the notification settings to not block the built in messaging app's notifications. then reboot your phone and annoying text messages should stop. you can search for more details on exactly how to change the settings.

Hey guys I have been missing calls lately and my phone doesn't give me any notification I have a voicemail. Since it doesn't tell me I have a missed call can someone point me to an app that would notify me with new voicemails. Thanks

Try going into the voicemail settings. See if there's anything there to help you
Try YouMail service. It's free and will give you iPhone's Visual Voicemail like interface. I love it.
Shell out a few bucks and get the BetterYouMail app from Play Store after registering and setting up with the official Youmail app. Just like the name suggests, Better You Mail is "Better" than the actual Youmail app.
HTH,
vG
google voice is visual voicemail ,its free and even emails you a text transcript of the voicemail message (great for seeing it in office where you cant listen to it)
Anyone knows how get rid of voicemail notification?
I know in apps/phone/clear data
but after restart its back..
I'm on prepaid with voicemail not active.
Can't you disable the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app in Application Manager in Settings?

I can, but the icon is still there
Call in to your voice mail on the dialer and delete the voice message. Press 7 while listening to the voice message. Once done then set up your preferred voice mail app. I use Google voice

I had this issue on the Galaxy S3 when I first got it with a phantom voicemail icon that never went away despite not having any voicemails. I solved it by getting someone to leave me another voicemail and then deleting it. Might work for you as well.
After disabling it as suggested before, reboot your phone.

Same thing happened on the s3. Call yourself from a different phone and leave a message then delete it from your phone.

Can't leave myself voicemail because I don't have voicemail activated.
Did try the reboot after disabling voicemail, still there.

You need to activate it and do the above, that's the only way.

Well if it's the visual voicemail notification that you're trying to make go away, then long press it in notification, and go to app info, and uncheck notifications. If it's the regular voicemail icon, I would say do the same, but looks like on stock that's tied to the phone.apk and stock doesn't seem to let you disable the notification. I'm not 100% sure on this but I think you can uncheck notifications on CM. Otherwise, yeah just setup voicemail leave a message, and then delete it.
I've tried the above method with no results? Anyone have any other ideas thanks ahead .
[edit] I've put this in the wrong spot I have an e4gt I would think the fix would be the same but I can't figure out how to delete my post sorry folks
clear phone data
on galaxy s7 edge with android 6.0 if you hold the notification until you get to "App Notification" then click on the "i" icon, once in the application info select storage. finally clear data
Root the phone and remove the app from your system......
I can't get visual voicemail to work it just fc whenever I try to listen to my voicemail. I'm not rooted and i have the tmobile note3 all stock. I've tried reinstalling the app deleting app memory and cache and still no luck.... I've noticed that in call settings the voicemail settings section is grayed out and I can't access it, can anyone help me fix this issue or is anyone having the same problem as me?

I would say it could be a TMO problem, you may not have your voicemail enabled? Can you access VM through the traditional automated system? Also, if you want an alernative, check out YouMail in the app store. Every phone I get, I install that. It's free and you get greetings with no irritating T-Mobile automated messages.
Thanks for the reply youmail is a great alternative I'll stick with that and leave the tmobile vv alone.

Has anyone taken a look at porting the HTC Visual Voice mail that's included with the AT&T M8 to T-Mobile? I'd love to have an integrated Visual Voice mail over having a separate app.
+1... Either that or has anyone figured out how to get the Google Voice voicemail notifications to display/be listened to from within the stock phone app? (i.e when you go into the Google Voice app's settings and check the option to "View and play voicemails from the phone call log")

From what I've heard Google Voice will never because it uses the stock phone app to integrate with, so I'm thinking our best luck would be this built-in voicemail :-/
You can download the tmobile visual voicemail apk

Like I was saying I'd like to have the integrated one over the seperate app.

Sorry about that. I totally missed that part of the sentence. It would be nice though hate having to download an app just to be able to see my voicemail.
