Hey everyone,
I have a weired problem, after a couple of minutes widgets get stuck and won't get updated until I restart the phone. This happens on every launcher, no matter if I use stock, nova & go.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Anyfixes?
Thanks in advance.

What's your memory usage? Maybe you're running very low on memory.
Do you have any special apps working in the background? Maybe provide some screenshots of your app list.
I have at least about 400-500 mb free memory...
I'll try to post some screenshots of my app list.

Great, because maybe an app is the cause!!!!

I haven't really messed with the phone that much. I only added launcher pro to it then uninstalled it, because I didn't like it. but for the past few days I have been having trouble moving around apps and widgets on the pages and every time i add an app from the app drawer to a page, the app disappears. Does anybody know what can be causing this problem?
Maybe something went wrong when you uninstalled launcherpro. Try to reinstall it and check if the problem is still there.

I had the same problem today in a Defy, it wasn't rooted, just with the deblur ROM. I restarted the phone to solve it. Is that a "soft reset"? Or am i missing something?

no i didn't do any of that stuff.
I got HTC One V for me and now after 3 days, just 45MB of RAM is FREE. No apps are running / opened.
Also when I touch the 'home' button on the bottom of the screen, it says 'loading' and after about 10 seconds of waiting, the home screen appears. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?
That's quite unusual. When idling with no apps open, my phone has anything from 50 - 120 mb of RAM free. Could you provide more details that would help us identify the problem (i.e anything you've downloaded/modified recently, screenshots of your task manager page, running any custom launchers, any custom ROMs, rooted/unrooted etc.)

You have also apps that are running on Cache slot. See first screen? Go to that again, press menu on your phone to bring up the menu screen and select Show cached processes. Also, it is a good advice to restart your phone once in awhile. Just to make sure that the cache is rebuilt and the ram is defragmented.
Cheers

There's a picture of a blue cog wheel flashing in the top right corner everytime I press the power button and view my home screen. Anyone have this issue?
Also, does anyone else have the bug where you try to open a thread (texting) and it just goes back to your page of contacts like 5 times before you can view your thread?
Here are the solutions!

Have you rooted your phone? It has not happened to anyone in this world in Stock ROM.
Look, the Amazing Spiderman 3D Live Wallpaper has a sign in the top right corner when we switch between homescreens. So, I think it might be something with the wallpaper you're using..
OR
It may be some app you downloaded that runs all the time (like a battery saver app) which shows some sort of sign when the screen is turned On and the phone is Awake.

Yes, it happened to me. Not 5 times, but I must say that the Stock Messages app is bad! Very, Very, Very bad!
It'll go away by itself.. At least now it doesn't happen with me... Actually its because HTC One V hasn't loaded all the threads and we command it to open a thread. So, after 1 second when all the threads (the whole messages app is loaded) it takes us back to show the full messages app loaded.
Ah great explanation, thanks man. Any new messaging apps that you would recommend? The phone is actually my mothers with that issue that has been not sending texts at random intervals and wanting htc error reports as well. It has a 3d wallpaper, not rooted and I don't think either of those have to do with the wheel. It's pretty much stock.
Here you are! Messages app- SOLVED !

No. I won't recommend any 'cause I've never seen any! Also, it's not needed! You know... My memory RAM was too low (always 30-40MB free). But when I uninstalled many apps that I never used, with the phone getting faster, the messages app has also got smoother.
Now why did this affect the Messages app? --Because I uninstalled apps that took a lot of RAM, my RAM got released much after they got uninstalled. Now I have 70-80MB of RAM free and indirectly this helps the Messages app by allowing it to take RAM and store cache. Now I dont have any problem with Messages app..
Perform the following steps-
Clear the data and cache in Settings-Apps-Messages.
Open the messages app and use it.
Go to Settings-Apps.
Under the Running tab, gently tap on the green area at the bottom right (which indicates your free RAM).
The Running tab will then show the cached processes.
The more the memory is used by the Messages app, the more it gets smoother.
If no memory is used, let me and eveeyone on XDA know.

I'll have to ask next time I see her. Thanks for the help so far.
Well, after looking at it today (it was the wallpaper with that stupid cog!!)
I've determined it's only issue now is she can't send texts with pictures attached or it fails. Any ideas on this?

Does anyone know how I can delete this annoying pop up? I have tried adAway and Addons detector but no luck.
Clearly you installed some free app recently, so go and and remove it or them.
Thanks

If you find it with ADB, after I suggest not installing a lot of free apps, especially large amounts of them within a short space, but generally paid apps are worth it. Or you could click yes and see what free apps are offered, maybe they might be developed by the same person/company, and the one you installed might be among those other free apps.

Manage to run ADB logcat
How do I identify which app ran or how do I identify the pop up??
logcat
These are the logs that shows up whenever the pop up comes up. Any idea on which app it is?

That's the thing. I was not. I was also looking for music apps that I might have installed recently. I was simple unlocking my phone from sleep. That's when the pop up comes up usually.

Do Anyone have issue with app closing too quickly in background even less than a minute??
I am noticing it for past few days. When i switch chrome with any other app and come back within a minute then chrome page reload itself. This was not the case with my previous device Moto X2.
Also faced issue with mini militia app when switched to whatsapp for few seconds, the app restarted when came back.
Any help will be grateful.
Yes, this phone has very aggressive memory management. It kills background tasks too quickly.
Looking under memory settings, I have used 85 apps in the last 24 hours and the maximum amount on RAM this phone has used is 1.6 GB...seems the RAM usage never hits more than 2 GB as the phone keeps killing apps.
