Sending messages to several contacts is already there. Deleting multi contacts I don't think so but when do you use it any way?

Well, that's the limitation of the AOSP ICS Messaging app.
You can simply install a 3rd party SMS App though. Handcent SMS and Pansi SMS are two highly-rated ones.
I myself use Pansi SMS
tnx pepo and amada..
but i hope, even without third party apps, our default message app could have it..
i mean, if GB can, why not Ice and Jelly?
anyways, i love comfortable ways..lol

The SMS app of GB actually had been modified quite extensively by Samsung.
The SMS app of ICS & GB is 100% based on AOSP, and Google for inexplicable reasons thought that it's best to make people hard to do multi-select in the Messaging app.

I couldn't find a thread for the incredible about replacing the HTC messaging with something different so i'm going try this out here.
My question is can i get a different messaging application for example the Samsung messaging, or something different and flash that on and make that my default instead of the HTC? My friend actually has the Samsung messaging.apk but i don't know if i can simply reboot into clock work and flash it on there. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Sorry bud the messaging app can't be switched like that because its ran by HTC sense.... best bet is to try an app from the market but never delete the orignal or you won't have messaging at all

Ok thanks alot for the info. I'm assuming that same goes for if i had a gingerbread rom on my phone i cant flash a different messaging system on there?
Yea each Rom has a system framework that runs certain things and if its not there it won't work
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
It does not matter what ROM you are using, you can use a different default messaging program. The most popular on here are Handcent and ChompSMS. Both can be found on the market and set as your default messaging app.

Hi, is there a feature on the Play or app on the market where I can send a text to a group of people, instead of texting to a single person/a few people with the Plays built in text feature. It takes too long sending the same text individually. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you on android 2.3.3 or 2.3.4?
I found the same problem verrrry frustrating on 2.3.3 because you had to singly select a contact to text (with stock sms app) but with 2.3.4 when you go to send a message, all you contacts have a tick beside them so you can select as many as you like. so it works fine on 2.3.4.
If your on 2.3.3 and dont want to upgrade to 2.3.4 you can download a different sms app to solve the problem easily. Go SMS or Hancent are 2 good apps for it.
Im on 2.3.3, ive not had an update for 2.3.4 yet. Will I recieve it soon or do I have to download it myself?? If not il try the apps you mentioned, thanks.

Sure if you like your Ram getting chewed for smsing xP I has 180 apps .my ram is already half dead :-$

i don't know but GO SMS works really fine for me.. i don't have slow downs on my phone ever since.. i usually have 200-230MB of RAM available with GO SMS "persistently" running on background. besides, isn't it that linux manages RAM differently than windows in that it pools memory for easier app access? either way, i don't have problems with GO SMS really..of all i've tried, it's the best--battery-wise, RAM-wise, overall performance-wise..
If you delete some running apps it does help you with slowdown with doom kernel
I used the XDA App to post this, what did you use?
Hello guys & gals!
I've had it with CM9's People app's shortcomings.
So, I'm trying out Contacts +.
Anyone tried using this app before in place of the People app?
Please, share your experience... if nothing too bad, I'm seriously thinking of hiding the People app permanently.
.
Just used it, my reply: IT IS GREAT...
I already removed my phone/contracts/messages apps and replaced them with this.
And @contacts+
Could I add your app to my Rom? I will add your name in the credits

I'm using this app for a while too, and it's great!
Facebook integration and contact sync is ok. I've found only one bug, but i've already signaled it (https://contacts.zendesk.com/requests/1209)
Integration with other app, phone and messages is functional and easy to configure, and the app is smooth and quickly
Really a good job!

Hey @pepoluan,
Glad to hear you like Contacts+, I'd love to hear what you think about our app and if you have any suggestions for us,
we're working hard on making the perfect contacts app, and we do it by listening to feedback from our users.
Feel free to send us suggestions or report issues via Contacts+ settings > feedback.
BTW, Contacts+ relies on the People app for some things, so I wouldn't recommend freezing it on your device, just drag the Contacts+ icon to your home screen instead of your People app, and let the other one stay alive.
You can also add shortcuts from your widgets drawer to get fast access to the Messages, Call log and Dialer screens in Contacts+.
Thanks,
The Contacts+ team.

Ah, I see...
Don't worry, I won't actually freeze the People app ... I'll just hide it from the drawer

Hi,
I have some problems with my s3 mini, samsung sms app is not scrolling smoothly btw i don't wanna use 3rd sms apps or push some different apps into system.
How can we fix this? I've seen other sms programs scrolling smoothly in sms view.
I have to keep hundreds of sms ,it's being a big problem when i wanna see old conversations.
It's laggin like 1 fps , like a graphics card driver not installed..
Any ideas ?

Nobody's app does.
Yea, i know that but my question is how can we fix that thing.
Can we edit/modify stock mms app?
Like pull secMms.apk from system , modify and push into system again?
I know, there is some experienced people can do that in here.
Who can help with that?
No lag here..totally smooth for me.
That's scrolling lots of messages from different contacts and a conversation with 200 messages in it.
how is this possible
my list scrolling like 2 fps,
it's killing me.. i guess i have to install some mms-sms apk like go sms, etc. but it has to be a way to fix that thing..
plase help! :banghead:

I've noticed that using battery saving mode causes a bit lag, but that's expected, cause when you enter battery saving mode it says it will limit proc functions
Yes it does limit the CPU to 800MHz but still not completely smooth with power saving off.
Yep...But it' less laggy

Go through and delete anything you don't need. I know it seems like a bit of a noobish thing to say but it's all I could think of
Sent from my GT-I8190N using xda app-developers app
firstly
what rom are you using?
this will help with providing suggestions so always let people know what rom you are running
secondly
how much space have you got on the phone's internal memory?
how many applications do you have running at any given time?
Ok, so rather than flash again to CM10.1 or whatever, I've decided I would like to disable the conversion of <3 into that one with the Android with hearts for Eyes, and likewise for all other Emoji.
Is this possible without massive effort, or should I switch to another MMS application. I'm not opposed to plan B. Handcent and Chomp are my two candidates.
However I wanna know if this is something that is built into the keyboard first, since if thats the case almost all my apps will display them in place of plaintext ones.
I am also open to modifying font packages if I need to.
GO SMS is a very good SMS app

Yeah, I just tried to fiddle and replace the emojis in the fonts and ****, with a backup beforehand of course. They showed up as squares, so I said screw it and installed GO SMS Pro. Oddly all of the issues I was having before such as Contact Pictures and whatnot, arent occuring, and on deodexed its oddly pretty fast.
I am still having the issue with GO Contacts EX Not grouping contacts by contacts (Like I have configured in google), but at least GO SMS Pro works now!
Heck I can even only have it display mobile contacts.
Oh hey look I accidentally....a bad word XP.
