Hi today as usual i was playing with my phone ,battery under 15% appeared.
It was on 12% and i recharge it
After about 2 hour i came back to unplug the charger. I saw the phone is off and it did not turn on !
I take out the battery and Turn it on
But when i turned it on the screen did not showing the colors correctly it was like when you change the color depth in windows from 32bit to 256colors
And a big problem with black colors
Actually the black colors were shown in red And the at&t boot logo signs was remained in screen.
I dont know what happened and the charge level was in 60%
After about 10min the screen became better from top sides but i could feel the att logo in screen
And after 20min it was clear and every thing was ok .
It was frightening and i thought that it damaged.
did anyone had the same problem before?
What happened to this phone !?
I did restart it many time and recharge it. My nitro seems to work fine.
Is the screen damaged ?

I'm having the same issue and having a really hard time finding any info on it. After booting it looks "ok".. but during boot it looks as this person described it: windows in 256 colour mode.. Very strange. My phone drained down to 0% today during work, and I just tried plugging it in and turning it on.
Hopefully this goes away. Running CM10.1 RC5 with Wind 2.3 and I have flashed the new adreno drivers and changed max layers to 2 in build.prop to make camera buttons display properly.
i switched back to modded ics stock after cm10.1 had 3-4 nightlies that didn't even boot and all kinds of bugs in the last 3 weeks, i'm waiting for a stable release to come out before i switch back, i recommend switching back to stock while they deal with recent issues, that's just my opinion tho. u guys could try backing up ur cm10.1 and flashing a stock rom to see if the problem is fixed, even if u decide to switch back to cm after, it's worth a shot.
if flashing a cwm flashable stock modded rom fixes the issue you might want to consider doing a full wipe and going back to rc2 or nightly 19th-22nd of may before the issues started

Well, something very odd just happened to my samsung focus (at&t) when I rebooted it. After the samsung screen shows, a pure red screen shows up for about 2 seconds and then it goes black. when I push the power button (or hold it) it simply goes back to the red screen again! Naturally, I thought to battery pull which simply put it back onto the samsung screen only to then go back to the red screen again.
I then thought 'maybe this is some sort of glitched state that it is in (it does seem to be stable in this state of redness, the capacitive buttons seem to give haptic feedback when pressed and the power button turns the screen off and on) so I decided to battery pull again and then connect it to my pc to see if it would detect that the phone was in this special "mode". after the battery pull, the phone booted back as normal??? It had about 89% power according to the battery percentage app when I rebooted??
it is fine now, but WTF was that anyway??
EDIT: ok, now it gets weirder, I got it to go into this state and quickly connected my usb cable to the computer and... zune pops up and it goes to that screen with the phone wanting to sync, but the phone being grayed out?? when I dragged a picture to my device, IT STARTED TO SYNC WITH DEVICE! It didn't even get an error and, after a successful reboot to the actual phone, THE PICTURE WAS ON MY DEVICE??? oh, and btw, it boots insainly fast when it is in redscreen mode...
i am now seriously confused beyond all hope
happened to my omnia 7 yesterday.
Just as well since i was going to flash the new rom anyways (and i did.. hasnt happened yet)
I think...it happened when i took my sim out.. i put it in and dont think it happened.
Might have to do with samsung. Other than Dell, Samsung has proven to be the weakest OEM in terms of hardware/software/firmware reliability.
I had this after I tried the 16Bit gradient hack. Setting the values back to 16 solve the red screen problem.
Wow... Ur right! Thanks for the fix =D

it is related to the 16 bit banding reg hack. It has been discussed/mentioned in that thread several times...
Has happened to me 3 or 4 times in the last month, ever since I changed the values to fix the banding on my Samsung Focus.
Just yank the battery and restart, hasn't been a continuous problem for me, and definitely a small trade-off to get rid of banding, IMO.
Same over here
Now that you mention it. I have the same RSOD problem with my Omnia 7 after the 32 colour bit hack. In my case it will happen after I have switch the phone off for the night and switch it back on in the morning. It's fine when the phone is switched off and on again.
Ok maybe you guys can help. I'm having the strangest problem.
I'm running cyanogenmod nightly 151 and last night I was using the torch widget on bright for a little while and the battery died. Charged it back up and when I unplugged it in the morning it rebooted to white htc logo screen. Booted up normally and as soon as screen times out it reboots again. It did this a number of times so I Did a complete wipe and installed an older nightly, same issue. Full wipe and installed a stable rom, same thing. Then I noticed when I leave it on the charger I don't have the rebooting problem, only on battery power, so I replaced the battery. Same issue. Then I noticed that if I constantly use the phone it doesn't reboot. Only when the screen times out. Set the time out to 30 mins and left it idle. 30 mins later it rebooted. Turned off the "screen off animation" thinking that was the problem, no luck. Flashed back to stock official tmobile rom, same issue! Tmobile is sending me out a new phone and battery but just for curiosity sake and so it doesn't happen again, any ideas on what it could be? Definately gonna avoid that torch widget in the future! Thumbs up to tmobile customer service for their no haggle "overnight me a phone for 5 bux" customer service!
To sum it up, when phone is on charger no problems. When phone is running on battery, anytime the screen goes out, either by hitting power button or by it timing out, it instantly reboots to htc logo.

Flash a fresh version..or a stable one.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using XDA Premium App
Yea I flashed 5 different ones, first I flashed back to the previous release that included a different kernel, then the stable rc1, then the stable before that, then I flashed the stock rom with root. There's nothing on my phone now except stock software and root. As soon as I hit the button to turn the screen off it reboots. The real question is what exactly happens when the screen goes off that the phone isn't liking? Its speedy and everythng works great for as long as the screen remains on. Its gotta be a hardware issue if I've tried so many different roms right? Or is there some core piece of software that nightly 151 changed that none of the other roms I'm flashing are changing?
Update: if I have music or navigation on and I turn the screen off the phone doesn't reboot until the song ends or route ends! Lol wth is up with this? It only reboots on idle? Maybe processor drops too low?
Update. Phone stopped rebooting every time the "screen goes off / all processes stopped" and now only does it very randomly, almost hardly ever. Its like its repairing itself lol. Htc cyborg! New phone should be here tomorrow. I was really hoping to figure this out though. Oh well
Hello,
today I was fooling around with my Phone, flashing stuff etc... =D
I wanted to flash the touch version of CWM and decided to delet everything and install my phone completely new without all the junk. So I made a Titanium Backup and than I wanted to copy the backup to my PC. There the problems started, I chose the Titanium folder and wanted to copy it to my PC but just the folder was copied without the contents. I didn't get it to work. Then suddently my PC couldnÄt recognize my GNex anymore.
Because of that I just deleted everything with a Filemanager and just left the Titanium Backup Folder on the SD, a ROM (AOKP b27), Francos.Kernel and a Boot Animation zip.
So then I went into Fastboot mode and installed the new CWM with the GNex Toolkit and than flashed everything without problems.
After rebooting I plugged my Phone into the Wall Charger (the one supplied with the GNex) and had to discover, that it wouldn't charge at all. So now I can't charge it while the phone is on, I can only charge it while it's off?! And while it's off the screen shows the batteryicon with the flash inside and than for 5 secs it show an animaton of the battery filling up, and then the screen stays black for 1-2 secs and the icon with the flash comes again; is this the normal animation? I think I can remeber it just showing the icon with the flash once and then just the battery charging right?
So I googled a bit about this problem and I don't think it has something to do with the software; so can anyone give me some advise? Is it broken, do I have to send it in?! =(
Sounds like something is up with your ROM or kernel. Have you tried performing a nandroid backup and flashing AOKP?
Well, I did install everything new, ROM & Kernel because I thought that could help but it didn't
Edit:
Just now: Phone was charing while off, I booted it up and in the Battery Settings Screen there was the message " not being charged", I unplugged the phone and the message changed to "discharging" then I plugged it in again and suddently it was charging, unplugged again and plugged in again but now it just stays at discharging
Could the battery be defectiv?
Edit2:
Ok, so now I installed 4.0.2 Stock Google with Gnex Tollkit and it seems to be working, so porbably something witht he rom...strange I ask myself what could have done it?
Ok I need help!
So my problem is not yet solved...
Now my phone charges while on but when I disconnect it it's still charing... The symbol on the battery icon in the notification bar shows the little flash and in Batterysettings the graph keeps reseting the time every 10-20 secs...
So basically the phone - even not on the charger - keeos showing every 10-20 secs that it's charging and than it's not and this keeps going...
I think it must be a hardware problem with the battery because I already flashed a completly new rom and kernel etc....
Anyone suggestions?
Edit: Oh something that I noticed too...since it keeps charing and discharging my screen goes on everytime it "charges"...

Help ! got exactly the same problem on my GN =(
Have the same problem, heres a very helpful response to a thread i started:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23411891#post23411891
I had this same exact problem two days ago. After a lot of googling and changing roms and going back to stock I brought it to Verizon.
The woman there basically told me in not so many words that if it's charging and not dying immediately I should try living with it, which I told her was unacceptable. I said "you can clearly see that it shows it's charging right now. While the phone thinks it's charging, it doesn't go into proper sleep mode, and therefore the battery drains much faster. Additionally, I don't know when it's charging for real or just saying it's charging."
She went into the back for a minute and came back out and offered to ship me one. I just got a "certified like new" shipped to me next day (I have the insurance on the phone) and it seems perfectly fine so far. Updated to 4.04 and restored with Titanium Backup.
From everything I've read it looks like a hardware problem and won't be fixed with software. You may temporarily fix it by leaving the battery out for like 30-40 seconds, but then when you go to plug it in you're going to introduce the problem again.
I would bring it into Verizon and tell them it's unacceptable, and demand they replace it. Good luck.
Greetings, Interwebs !
2 days ago I sat in a subway and had my Xperia Play R800i Unlocked Bootloader w/ TrueAncestor in my pocket. Till then it worked perfectly fine. Some time later I took it out to check the time and looked at a screen filled with random pixels of different colors. I took out the battery, put it back in and booted. As soon as the kernel`s bootlogo would normally show up, I got the same distorted screen. But the phone boots. It vibrates and the LED flashes as usual. Note that I didn`t change anything software wise before it bricked.
So when I got home I took out the battery again and went to sleep. The next day I put it back in and got the distortion where the kernel logo should have been again. But then it showed the ROMS` bootlogo and booted normally. The only thing strange was that the screen would flicker and have random glitches on everything thats rendered by the CPU. Every game worked just fine. But the random glitches also would vary in strenght and quantity. Eventually I would get none for about half an hour.
So today I flashed AOKP and again, I can`t even see the bootlogo.
Am I right in the assumption that some hardware is broken ?
Hello, i faced a serious problem this evening, just after i finished a call phone, the screen of the phone went Blue and then it went off, i started to put it on again and then it showed the screen with LG and then it went black no boot at all. i removed the battery and i tried again and still the same, so i tried to remove the battery and put it again and plug it with the computer, it went on with charging battery and then suddenly went to blue screen again.
So i tried to put the recovery mode with power down and on/off and it worked i got the recovery mode screen with factory reset but it was only with factory reset, i tried it and then i put yes and it reboot and then after LG screen, it went black again....
so i tried to put download mode with usb cable but it wont, always i got the blue screen. what should i do, where is the problem exactly for people who had the same problem ? the batterye ? the motherboard ?
anyone to help ? i changed the battery and it wasnt coming from it, and the phone showed others anormalies like sometimes u can charge the battery and you see the % and sometimes it goes blue screen and shut down. anyone had the same issue before ?
My LG G3 randomly started giving this problem for 3-4 days till it went completely bad. It just wouldn't get past the Blue Screen. Since I had to take a backup before taking any further action, I have been able to get it up and running for very short durations by keeping the cell phone in the freezer for an hour or so. Yes. I am not kidding. After it freezes, I can get it up on about 5th or 6th attempt. Sometimes even more. Be mindful that the battery is now showing a red humidity marker due to the freezer.
I am thinking of asking LG to repair it. What a piece of crap. Its only 18 months old for me.
