So I just saw this on the play store and was thinking about giving it a try, but its a not a cheap launcher. I've paid that much for spb years ago and im still disappointed with it.
Anyone tries next and what do you think of it?
Sent from my liquid smooth t989
Its not that smooth with our dual core devices. There aren't a lot of features, but for aesthetics its really nice.
It is really smooth. And i mean really smooth. But thats about it. Most of the eye-candy animations are just used and seen in the setting up process. When you decide what goes where, how many pages you will have and what goes in which folder. You do not have much control over how you phone will be styled. They have already decided for you.
16 bucks I don't think so. Not with what all it comes with. I mean it's all nice and looks smooth but just not worth it to me.

It's a nice but very complex launcher... If you don't wanna go through tons of menus to get your apps on the homescreen... don't use it. Lol.
It looks nice, but not many features and no landscape mode, not worth the $16 in my opinion, at least not yet.

Honestly, why get a launcher (from the play store) that is going to use up your battery, if you want a smooth launcher than find Rom that you think has the features you want/need.

Then make one, or ask a dev to implement it in there next Rom. Or get any Jedi Rom. They are really good.
Edit: also, you needing all these features are wasting way too much battery. I used apex before and got 20% less battery power per hour.

Yeah why use this launcher when Nova or Apex does the job and is quicker? It consumes less battery, less CPU, but lacks the flashy aspect. Personally, Nova Launcher is the greatest (got it when it was 0.25$) and it does the job. Only reason I'd use this launcher or TSF Shell is to show off to others.
I was just asking about the launcher. And as far as what I need to save battery is my business. I don't cook roms and I'm not gonna ask an already busy developer to use the launcher I want (apex) for my personal choice when a lot of them use nova ( which i have the pro version of too). The Jedi roms are great roms, I'm about to flash a new one to try it out here in an hour or so. But I'm stuck on liquidsmooth cause it is what I want in a rom ( with apex added or course) and I have it themed the way I like it.
If I wanted to cook my own rom I'd use a Jedi rom strip the launcher add apex and convert the theme I'm using to work on ics

May be with his experience built a better ROM than JMT
Ive used both as a daily driver and while both work great, i found myself leaning to the JMT. Both felt stable but the JMT ROM was [email protected] vs stock for JK. great ROMS both of them.
Jedi Mind Tricks. Jedi Knight 2 on the full is hardcore bloated but runs with no stutter and the Jedi Knight 2 Slim seems to stutter more. If you want the official note pop up video player, go Jedi Knight.
Jedi Mind Trick is a NICE ROM! Great battery life and REALLY stable! The Jedi Knight ROM is not as stable but has better BATTERY life!
Hope this helps!
I used both and for me both are great, no stutter or fc on them.
I lean toward JK2 just because is 4.0.4.
In the end, just try both of them and see if one it's better for you.

I tried Jedi Knight 6 and had issues with the ROM freezing on shutdown or reboot. Flashing with TWRP fixed the problem for me, Clockwork Mod Recovery caused hangups.
There seems to be random issues with pictures not showing up in the gallery. Also although not a problem I didn't like that the name of the application under the icons on the home screens have been removed, and there seems to be no way to restore them.
I've been running Jedi Knight 6 for about a month now....I've had no issues with gallery pictures missing and I used Apex instead as my launcher so that I can customize my hometown the way I like it and I get the names under the app icon. I'm averaging 11 hours of battery time with about 4 to 6 hours of screen on time and over 300 apps on my phone. I know I can tweak things even more to get better battery life but I just don't know how. Hope that helps some.

ptmr's Koodo ROM V3 is my go-to for close to stock 4.0.4 touchwiz... get ~24 hours of use with ~4 hours screen time, though i'm convinced "canadian" based ROMs work better on our phones
I think it's on par with TDJ's Telus 4.0.3 ROM for stability and performance... i just always found the contacts/favorites/dialer organization on 4.0.3 annoying
Have to go with CM10.0 or even nightlies. I have been dirty flashing CM10 nightlies for a while and very very rarely get a FC or RR. For OC or to add some governors and schedulers, try a nice kernel to go with

In my opinion, it's all preference. I decide which ROM is best for my phone by the amount of support and regular updates the developers offer for the ROM. At the moment, I would have to say I am enjoying ROMs produced by the All-Star team, they have always been there to answer any questions.
Good luck to everyone trying to find their "best" ROM. Cheers!

LiquidSmooth>TouchWiz
I would suggest sticking with Android 4.2.2 since TouchWiz MC3 only has a few extra features which to me are mainly gimmicks while AOSP 4.2.2 is much better with a lot less loaded crap on your phone and it's easier to modify in my opinion.
I personally don't use Nightly ROMs since they tend to be unstable which is not worth it. I am currently using LiquidSmooth version 2.2. The great thing about LiquidSmooth is that it's based on Cyanogenmod+AOKP+SlimRoms+Extra=LiquidSmooth. Also with less bloat that means that there is less extra stuff sucking on your battery in an AOSP ROM. A very smooth, stable and fast ROM with no bloat unlike stock TouchWiz.
Or if you want to stick with TouchWiz I would recommend a custom ROM such as strongsteve's Odexed Blue ROM, very nice ROM and much more professional and nicer looking compared to other modified TouchWiz ROMs in my opinion.

Yeah, I suppose you can remove the bloat manually but I find that a bit annoying. But it depends on what you like and want. Personally, my phone would pick up like 5/10 calls on TouchWiz while on AOSP ROMs it picks up all calls I make. I don't know why that is but hey it works.

+1. ALTHOUGH, you also lose all of the Samsung features though, but I rarely used them (motion, smart stay, etc.) and they are mainly gimmicks to me. Multi-view could come in handy I suppose but I would just rather use the task manager, multi-view I would use all the time if I had the Note, not on the GS3 though.

The only TW feature that I really miss is the stock video player. I loved floating that guy around and found it really easy to use. I tried the other floating players on the Play Store, but didn't really like them all that much. I currently use MXPlayer and allow the audio to play in the background. I deal with it, but once in a blue moon I'll restore my stock rom just to experience the glory of the floating video player.

I suggest that if you're interested in a ROM, go ahead and try it out. Different people like different things, so it's up to you to find out what works for you. With Titanium Backup and nandroid backups, it's easy to switch to different ROMs without losing critical data.
Personally, I ROM jump a lot. If I see something that looks interesting, whether it's 4.1, 4.2, TouchWiz, or AOSP, I'll check it out and run it for a few days. If I don't like it, I'll either nandroid back or flash another ROM I found interesting. That's what I love about Android.

I know this is mainly an opinion-based question, but I just wanted to get an idea of how people felt about it. I have a post a few posts down asking about non-TW roms that have multi-window but it seems MiUi is the only one that's a hybrid of AOSP and TW and contains that feature. Not only can I not seem to find a download link, I really think I prefer the full AOSP experience.
So my question is, are people mainly staying with TW for all the features it brings or are people finding it worth it to switch to AOSP while sacrificing the other features?
Thanks in advance!
TW has more features.
Less bugs.
Much better battery.
I used to never use TW roms until I got the Note 2, but with this phone and well TW runs it is kinda stupid to run aosp.

I use aosp because I never used multi Window or the spen. I really bought the phone for the size.

Although you're not trying to ask an opinion based question.. you kind of are lol. If you don't care for the multi-window, S-Pen, and other features then try something new. I honestly don't like using custom ROMs because of some of the issues. I messed my phone up trying to load a ROM and couldn't use it for like 3 days.

Battery life for me hasn't been any better or worse since the switch. I do charge nightly and while on tw and cm I still last a day on a single charge with heavy use.
This is where my opinion comes in... I like the color scheme of cm and the popup for text messages... Yes I can get it other ways but getting it all in one spot works best for me.

Yes if you update nightly you can end up with a phone you have to mess with to get working but find a stable enough release and don't use the tw specific feature then why stick with tw?

sure you can. The drop down on CM ROMS can have all the tiles you want on the first screen. No scrolling to the side like in TW ROMS...at least the ones I have used.
I like CM ROMS because of the customizing features....more themes that can be used via Play Store etc etc. Also, group messaging built in that works flawless. The ROM I am using has had no issues for me. Camera Bluetooth everything works just perfectly.

Cm is good smooth, quick, customization plus better battery life imho. But full function of Note ll I would pick TW base rom.

yup I agree with all that.
This is simple, if you use multi window then stay with tw. If you don't use it the flash a custom rom.

That's how I feel about it.

I agree with @LittleRedDot. TW is fine if you use all or most of the stuff they put in.
I never really used multi window, or the motion actions, so when I wanted to go custom I didn't readily miss any of the stock software features.
the only thing I used allot of was palmswipe to screen shot.

TW here. Never really had a problem with it, but Multiwindow and S-Pen are what I use this phone for.
