Soooooo I'm learning to compile on my own. I'm using ubuntu v11.10. I've got my environment set up. I'm trying to start building but I don't know where to get our drivers at. This is the page I got https://developers.google.com/android/ and I can't seem to find our device listed. Do I get them from somewhere else? Thanks for any input ahead of time!
I guess if more people knew this stuff then we would have more devs lol I think one of our devs is gonna help me out today so I'll update this thread with an answer if/when I get one. That way other people can find the answers too.

Might be helpful?
Thanks man but I don't think our device is supported. Besides, I'm attempting to build from source on my own in Linux. I just need these drivers to start out. I appreciate the help though.

Was looking and all I could find was on 12.10 to have libusb installed as well..
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Xparent SkyBlue Tapatalk 2
Yeah but on 12 the only device tree that's guaranteed to work is pretty much nexus devices according to Google. I don't understand why this is so difficult to locate? Would it be on git hub
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Did you see this? Or this?
Curiosity has me looking. Not trying to clutter or misguide. Aside from making a build of my own...
No I'm with you man. The more eyes the better. My buddy told me all Android phone use the same Bluetooth drivers and its called "Bluez" He said that should make it easier. Needless to say, it hasn't. :-\

Now looking at the links you provided, I think you're misunderstanding what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the drivers to cook in to my Rom for the phone to work. Not to access Bluetooth through ubuntu. You understand what I'm trying to say?

Ahh hah. I was confused. Now I understand. Why not hop on the irc dev channel?
Besides looking in git, I wouldn't be much help. Sorry about that.
Just thought it was a question that others might be having too. Surely I can't be the only one wondering.

Yes, I works great here also. Especially with a keyboard and mouse. A little laggy but what dobyou expect? It would Prolly run smoothly if it was the only Os on the phone, but that's above my pay grade.

Ubuntu/debian all can be emulated easily with linux4android and its pretty straight forward !
Anyone here know how to recover files off of our Galaxy Nexus?
I've been trying for hours after I deleted the camera folder thinking it was blank.
I've tried all sorts of programs but those require devices that can be mounted USB. Sadly I haven't found anything to work for MTP and PTP.
I've even tried some apps on the market which either crash or don't work at all.
I just wish I could mount as USB as I was trying to mess around with DEV mode and had no luck but I know if I can get this to mount as USB I could get all the files recovered as I haven't touch my phone to over write any hanging files.
Please let me know when you guys get a chance as I just came back from a cruise and I'm super pissed at myself.

What's done is done. Do what I've been doing for a few years and learn to build from source. Taking a look at how much work is put into rasbean, it will be difficult to build rasbean from source, at my level at least, so I will probably keep the latest build and go back to it whenever necessary.
Having been able to flash rasbean whenever there's an update was a pleasure, but sometimes it's time to move on.
I do hope that this is not a trend however.
Is Axiom being supported elsewhere? I just tried it for the first time a few days ago, and now I can't find reference to it anywhere.
Thanks in advance for linkages if there are any!

There is a very valid and appropriate reason for this. If the mods want to let you in on why, that's up to them but suffice it to say igio is not really welcome here. His "scheme" is not in the spirit of XDA so just let the issue wash away.

Try his twitter(DroidTh3ory) or his g+(AXIOM)
I can't find any trace of the ROM. Seems the download page is gone also. I've checked G+ and no news on twitter. Anyone know what the story is?

Just going to toss out that this has been on just about every Android news channel imaginable lately. It is certainly a great step though, and I hope to see it integrated into a framework modifier like Xposed.

Why when it is open source if you read the news article all that's needed is a git cherry pick and build. Then its done.

Things are rarely that simple, not because cherry picks don't work, but because some people are in different circumstances than your own. My current phone is a HTC One running a stock kernel, and without more sources custom kernels and ROMs are something of a tricky business right now. I prefer stock when possible, so an Xposed-style framework patch is a good way of "cherry picking" what I would like in a workable manner.
Great that you're sharing the news, but you posted in every thread already and now opened a thread in dev section =/
+1 for good intentions though

I didn't make anything, I knew full well someone would have something to say about me putting this here, I even say so in the first post. Obviously you guys are friends and you decided to take up for your Buddy which is fine with me they can pull this anytime they please.. It was only done to benefit all toro+ ROMs I'm not even mad about what he said he has a right to have an opinion and speak it freely... I'm not going to speak on it anymore.. I don't want to receive sn infraction for making more out of something than necessary... If it costs nothing to pass over this post and live your life.. I will be doing the same.. Again this was only made to give allr necessary links to compile.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
My two cents...I know goast from the forums, and he is an advanced user and a great resource to me. He's obviously pumped up about halo, and rightly so (it's a pretty amazing innovation by PA team). I'm not attacking anyone, but I like to stay informed about new things, so I appreciated his blast out. Many devs here work demanding jobs, and donate their personal time to development, so this info may help them in this fragmented crazy fast paced world. I just wanted to thank goast for the info, and impart some positive energy here. I'm not a dev, nor am I an expert, but I share goast's passion for android and desire to learn more about it. To me, that's why I love xda...I have a commercially dead device that is still extremely viable thanks to all of the great work here. Ok, I'm done...everybody enjoy halo!
