Finally arrived is right. How long does it take for case manufacturers to get the ball out on the heavier duty cases? This phone has been out for about a month or so and with it being such a high end device it seems that there should at least be some buzz on high end case websites about the development of protective overlays. I'm anxious to see a Trident Kraken, Otterbox Defender, or Ballistic Hard Core on this phone.
Also, are there any other worthy manufacturers that I could consider for quality protection besides these guys?

Mine was delivered yesterday, I've been using otter box for about 4 years now the first was a commuter for my 3gs but the protection wasn't very good on it. Upgraded to the defender and it was much better (broke once and they replaced immediately.) . I then bought a s3 (phone) I was hesitant to put a defender on there because the Damn thing would be the size of a kleenex box haha. So I got the commuter for it instead and the design and overall quality of the materials is much much better than it was 4 years ago. It would easily withstand a drop to concrete. I don't think otterbox has plans to make a defender case as far as the website shows.
I've searched for other companies (ballistic, and lifeproof) and they don't seem to be mentioning anything about the e971 so I'm thinking it's doubtful we'll see much more cases unless it explodes in popularity.

Korean F180, its the same body as the Sprint LS970.

OK, case arrived today. CLeaned up my phone and slapped it on. Initial impressions...
- quality materials, fit and finish are high end. Fits the device very well.
- a little bulkier than I had hoped for, but right on par for what I realistically expected. The protective lip around the screen edge of the device is a bit taller/ deeper than I anticipated. Doesn't exactly interfere with using the capacative back/ home/ menu buttons, but I am aware of the case when using them. Definitely adds weight and girth to the device.
- Rubber button covers for the power and volume controls reduce tactile feel of the controls. Even within a few hours, I can tell that the rubber covers on the controls is going to 'break in' and there will be some tactile feel there, but how much is yet to be determined.
- port covers for USB and headphone jack are great. USB port cutout is large enough to accommodate nearly any connector. Headphone jack cutout likely not compatible with L-shaped connectors, however all my earphone connectors are straight.

Sweet mine should be in the mail today or tomorrow but I'm out of town so it will just sit frozen in the mailbox lol

Fantastic case so far all the above stated I agree with however I liked the case being raised along the bezel feels more secure in my hands

Is this case your all talking about for the AT&T version? Just wondering because Otterbox site says its for Sprint only. I know one is wider than the other, but is it close enough to fit good?

Some users reported it was not compatable at all.

using e971 and it fits perfect i believe the e971 is the same size as the bell, telus, and sprint phone the at&t is thinner

How is the screen protector that comes with this case?

Indeed, the AT&T is the only Optimus G in the whole world with a different body.

Here is some pictures for those of you who asked. I took a picture with the screen on too. I wanted to show that the case goes right to the edge of the screen. It makes it somewhat difficult to tap the edge but you still can. I am not a photographer. Also, sorry I could get a better screen picture. Us Americans are still waiting for LG to update our phone.

I picked up the commuter at a cell booth in the local mall, was surprised to find one, this phone is not common around here, 40 bucks even was a great deal for what it is and i couldn't find it any cheaper online.
However I don't like the provided screen protector, top 2 corners are cutout and i'd rather a full cover as I work around a lot of dusty/dirty places, i don't mind if it covers the notification light or front cam.
I like how Otterbox has changed the feel of the silicone/soft piece, i had one on my HTC Desire a long time ago and the amount of pocket fuzz and lint it attracted was crazy so i wasn't interested in them for a long time.

You just made this beautiful phone very ugly with this case

Case-mate TOUGH case. Very impressed

I bought a case mate from eBay on Tuesday and after 2 weeks with my nexus it's finally arrived. The fit is great and makes the phone feel much easier to grip and more solid too. Its a 2 section case, silicone inner with a hard plastic outer layer. They can be found for £24.99 on eBay.

Aindow, did your Tough come with a screen protector from Case-Mate?
Had one of these for my Desire before I had the GN and it came with one included. The CM screen protector was pretty good so would like to get one for the GN too.
thanks for the review
I just ordered one from thecellguru, hopefully it won't feel too thick on the phone the slimness on the phone is amazing

No I didn't get a screen protector which is kinda disappointing as someone told me they normally come with one.
I've ordered an spg protector off eBay but it's coming from south Korea so will be a while before I get it. I guess I just have to be careful for now.

It is quite thick as its a double shell(I'd say about 2-3mm thick as an estimate on all sides of the case) but for me it makes the phone easier to hold anyway and the edges of the case stick up past the screen anyway so the screen is pretty well protected anyway.
Don't forget to let us know what you think.

+1 would also like to know. Also if you could comment on how tight or loose the top and bottom above and below the screen is. I know on my sensation with a tough case it was loose below and above the screen where the hard plastic shell didn't quite extend.

WELL TONIGHT THE CASE HAS PROVEN ITSELF. My girlfriends mum knocked the phone off the worktop and it landed face down on a tile floor! Expecting the worst I picked up the phone and it's perfectly fine and was still turned on.

It's a really tight fit on the sides. The top and bottom are not quite as tight but I've had no issues with it pulling off or anything. As for the fit around the edges of the screen and dust protection its excellent apart from at the top where its not 100% snug but I think this case may possibly be designed for both versions of the GN. I wouldn't let this put you off though. I'm currently waiting for my sgp screen protector to arrive (plumped for a premium one that comes with the applicator and micro fibre cloths).
All in all I'm happy with the case.

I can't wait until real retailers start stocking these. I'd rather not order it on eBay from Asia.
I can personally say this case is great. Looks brilliant and feels really sturdy.
Only problem is that the power button doesn't click anymore, but it doesn't feel too bad and is still responsive.

Yes. It's a silicone inner shell with a very hard plastic outer case that wraps round the back/sides of the phone.

Case with Kickstand Recommendations?

As someone who used the kickstand on my Evo OG a lot, I must have a case that includes a kickstand. Does anyone have any particular recommendations? I have used Seidio car mounts in the past, and they were very high quality and durable, but a bit on the heavy side (trade-off for durable I guess).
Anyway, I see two cases I'm interested in.

Oh man, I am so used to ordering everything from Amazon (or others) that I didn't even consider going to a store to get a case. I guess I was thinking that since the stores don't have the phones yet, they wouldn't have the accessories. Stupid thought process on my part. I'll have to go to a local store and see if I can find the case-mate.

How is it bulky? Its like 2 inches long and one inch wide. And doesn't add much thickness to the phone at all. When your fingers are in it, you won't worry about dropping it at all. I can easily reach all 4 corners of my screen with this baby. watch Qbkings review of it

I had it on my epic touch for a few weeks (before I quickly got rid of it) and it never felt like it was getting loose. It uses the 3m double sided tape, the same tape on the wall hooks that 3m makes that are rated to hold 5 lbs.
Another thing I like is that it lifts the phone speaker of the surface more so it doesn't dampen the ringer. That is partially annoying cause it doesn't lay flat on a surface if your using your phone laying down, but isn't a huge deal.

All the local stores I went to (the same one that wouldn't activate the phone for my SERO-P plan) have 1 or 2 of them in stock. If you are really desperate for it, you can always order it from Sprint's website
I am using one of these right now and it's not bad for the price, good enough to last me until something better comes out.
odd....thats the first time ive seen the case on the sprint site....and ive been checking often.....

I stopped by my local best buy and got the Rocketfish case. not bad....fits well. in the comment section there was a debate as to weather or not this case was for the at&t or sprint model. its marked as an at&t case, however people with that phone said it didnt fit at all. those who had the sprint version said it fit. and it does. On a side note, the case does have a cut out that looks like it would be for the SD card on the at&t model, which is misleading. though i find the slot to be useful cause you can use a dime or penny to pop the case off. if you dont do that its a pain in the butt to get it undone.
I also have a little concern about the phone getting too hot in the case. after a half hour / hour of playing FPS / Driving games it gets really hot. I may end up moding the case and cutting the back out to make it a "bumper" style case
@Ryocho - thanks for the offer ! gonna see how this case does and see if anything else comes out.
I will say though, i do like the otterbox screen protector, worked out great for my evo. and i dont think they sell them seperate.....

Car Mount/Holster
Just grabbed the Otterbox and everything is great, two questions though.
Besides the sprint generic, has anyone found a good car mount that fits with the case on?
Has anyone found a holster that fits? My hope is i can find a holster that is sideways with the clip at the top and I can slightly modify the case to snap into place.
If i find anything I'll be sure to pass it on!

I highly recommend this mount. The one hand operation is really convenient.
Is that mount guaranteed to fit? I would get it if I had that verification haha.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk 2
^^ I am 99% sure it will fit, since reviews say it will fit a s3 with otterbox case, but tight. And with my currently naked optimus G there's about 1/4 inch space on both sides when the arms are fully extended.
But if you have concerns you can get the galaxy note 2 version, which is guaranteed to fit a s3 with otterbox case, optimus g with otterbox should be about the same size.
I love the case. I've had it for most of my phones but my only issue is when it's on the back the plastic slides on smooth surfaces because it's so light of a phone! It's not a big issue but something to mention.
It's a good case. Just a little bulky
Cannot express how glad I am I got this case. Definitely the best case out there now. Accidently dropped my phone out of my pocket while getting out the charging cable and it fell onto concrete from about 3 feet high. And there's not a single scratch, on my phone, or the screen. Woo Otterbox!
And I normally never, ever drop my phone. My last phone only had Ghost Armor on it and one tiny ding after a year and a half. But these things happen and boy am I glad I invested in this gem!

I've been looking for a holster like the defender that will fit this case but haven't had any luck. Anyone else?

Do they take payment now or in the 1-2 weeks it's expected to ship? Gonna work out to around £25 to get one to the UK but it's definitely tempting. I'm not usually one to use cases but this looks very low-profile. I hope it fits in the car dock. Very much doubt it though.

No by the looks of pics that I've seen, the phone can only fit in the dock with no case. That's the only reason why I'm probably not going to get a case for this phone as I intend to use the dock on a regular basis.

Case looks nice. Looks like they have two choices. Frost/Soft and Hard/Clear. Almost tempted to get both.
I already have 4 cases now before the phone The Rock Thin Case in Silver and White and the Nillkin in Black and White.
This one looks even thinner. Have the case early helped me get a real feel for the phones dimensions. I really like the size of it.
I would like to have a very very thin aluminum case with the same aluminum finish. So it looks like the back of the phone. That way I can scratch it and not feel bad and keep the same look.
I think they should check their description box. They still have iPhone 5 instead of HTC.
Spigen cases are beautiful. I have an ultra capsule (soft rubber case- i dont think it is tpu) on my SGS2 which works wonderfully. The only problems i have with this case are:
a) no front lip which leaves the screen/screen protector prone to scratches when face down.
b) its a hard case which means no impact absorption
My brother had this case on his HTC One X, and when it fell on its side, the screen/digitizer cracked straight from where the charging port is (on the side for the one x) as it is an exposed area. SGP steinheil screen protectors have unmatched quality. I have had them on 5 android phones throughout my family, but i think ill be going for a cruzerlite tpu case because of their impact absorption, and just getting the steinheil protectors. I look forward to AFN's review to see if anything has changed with this particular case, but my hopes arent high. Sadly, Spigen informed me that they have no plans for an ultra capsule for the HTC One.
Just my thoughts...

Can you post up some pics? I didn't know they were already shipping it out.
Does it feel slippery?
yeah i dont think they shipped it out yet.
Just ordered mine along with the Poetic Atmosphere.
$29 for cases, $31 for postage.
Seems legit
Figured that I wouldnt be happy with any other case though after seeing it so may as well just bend over.
nice i need a case asap

Will do. I won't have them for nearly a month though going on the delivery times. But if no-one else beats me to it I will get some pics up as soon as they get in.

I bought a ipad case from belkin not long ago, It has a kind of unpleasant smell. I throw it away.
I use benks

I want this case, too bad it has a loose fit, I might settle if they come out with more colors

What do you mean by loose? Does it come off easily like the Incipio Frequency (personally I don't find that a problem) but if it falls off than yeah that's too loose!

Would u mind posting a picture of how the htc one looks with the case on? If u still have it

I bought 2 of this ref for my girlfiriend and i, and the fit is perfect for both or us. No loose point. But i can confirm one thing despite of the minimalist design this protection is incredible. My deary let her One fall 2 times, once inside house, once in the street very badly...after removing this Belkin protection to check the phone, not a single mark on it. I even used the belkin screen protect which is really easy to apply, no air bubbles, and really protective. Best ever used.

Well I went out and got one at target but quickly returned it, it was a tight fight like the phone is secure but the sides, top and bottom stick out so it makes the phone look roundish, basically made my htc look look like a galaxy s4 lol, the top and bottom stick out too much to where u can see a gap between the lip and phone, it was a bummer because if it was a perfect fit the case is extremely nice looking on the silver one and probably the nicest tpu case I've come across, I hope there is a revision of this

that's a shame
running out of options... looking for a less bulky case than the uag yet still protective. i've pretty much given up my hopes of sgp making a neo hybrid case for us HTC One owners.. not feeling any love from them lol
hopefully someone will step up and create a quality fake neo hybrid for the HTC One or something :fingers-crossed:

I feel u, the only case I use is my uag because I feel like I'm settling with other cases, diztronic would have been the perfect one but the camera cutout is a joke to me it looks like an eye

It's an amazing design just try it on before u buy, to see if the fit bothers u or not

I know I'm resurrecting an older thread, but I just wanted to chime in with my experience. I bought one of these cases on eBay, and I agree that the fit on the top and bottom leaves something to be desired. Other than that, I really like the case, so I got out my heat gun (not just a hairdryer), and heated up the top and bottom until they were warm enough to push in and reshape a little bit. That made the case fit a lot better. Be careful if any of you decide to do this, though. The grey part can melt if you get it hot enough.

Exact same problem with my Belkin Grip Sheer Matte case.

i think that this cover could be very nice ! but i should go for a 3mm because i think its the same for protection but the weight its better !
The case does add quite a bit of bulk to the phone. It makes it a lot wider than it needs to be, and there's sort of a sharp seam around the edge near the top. I stopped by a T-Mobile store today and picked up a Speck Candyshell Grip case for less than $20. It fits amazingly well, and really makes the fit of the Belkin look terrible, even after I got it to fit better with a heat gun.
