I was playing with the phone today and accidentally found out that you can have access to the shortcuts you set up for swipe to unlock when you use pattern unlock.
1) set your phone to swipe to unlock and set up your shortcuts
2) switch to pattern unlock
3) at the lock screen, enter your pattern and don't take your finger off the screen
4) you'll see the 4 shortcuts you set up show up around your finger
5) now you can take your finger off the screen then just touch the shortcut you want
6) no, there's no profit...

Hi guys, I'm having a problem with my lockscreen. When I turn on pattern lock, the lockscreen with the rotary unlocker, music controls, etc. disappears.
All I see is the pattern lock interface, and enjoy it input the pattern the screen unlocks. When I put a code or password lock on, the lockscreen displays as normal. Any way to change this? I'd really like having a pattern lock, but I need the rotary lockscreen to display regardless of the unlock method.
Thanks

actually, it will not work. when you put pattern lock, or password, or code, it will overwrite the rotary lockscreen. but unfortunately, the password or code will only affect after a reboot. only pattern lock will affect immediately.
for example, if you put password lock, then after reboot, you will lost the rotary lockscreen.
I have my Screen lock set to "Swipe" (the default) but I feel it's too easy to unlock the phone. As well as swiping where it says "Swipe up or down to unlock", you can also pull down the notifications menu and then go into Settings and press the Back button (which unlocks the phone rather than going back to the lock screen, which is the behaviour I would expect and want). Also, if I swipe across to the camera and press the Back button, this also unlocks the phone (again, I expect it to go back to the lock screen).
However, if I change the Screen lock to Pattern or PIN, the lock screen actually functions as expected and I cannot pull down the notifications menu or leave the lock screen via the camera.
Is there any way of replicating this behaviour with the Screen lock set to "Swipe"? In other words, I want to swipe to unlock, but I don't want to be able to pull down the notifications menu or leave the lockscreen unless I have actually swiped to unlock.
Well I think this is the standard and right behavior for all phones. It was the case with the GS2 too. There's no point in disabling accessing the notifications menu when there aren't any locks. It's only makes sense when you lock your device with pattern or pin.
Unfortunately I don't know any apps or modification that can help.

Hmm, OK - thanks for the information. The point is that it is too easy to accidentally unlock the phone - the lock screen should, well, lock the phone. I guess I could have a pattern or PIN unlock but it should be an option to have the same behaviour with swipe.

widget locker has pretty fine control over that sort of thing, including a disable notification bar toggle. i'm not sure if that actually works, though: i'm using delayed lock as well and that overrides some things.
Hi there,
I use cm_gio-userdebug-cm-10.1 from here and set the lock screen to use a PIN to unlock.
Now, my lock screen displays the following components:
* The time/clock
* The weather
* The keyboard to enter the PIN
The keyboard, however, is not displayed correctly. The buttons go in between each other .
There is not sufficient space on the screen to display them.
Can someone reproduce this issue and how to fix it?
I already tried removing the clock from the lock screen but this seems not possible.
I have it set to a pin, and I have smart lock setup to my home location, but when smart lock is active I still need to swipe to login, that is both stupid and a giant waste of time, how do I disable swipe, since if smart lock is active when I turn on the device it should be at the home screen, no button presses needed.
Thanks,
ERIC
I use a pattern unlock and my car's bluetooth is a trusted device. When I wake the phone, I have to also swipe to get to the home screen.
How do I get rid of that need to swipe?
