are you rooted? if so, you can use mobile odin and flash a stock image.
Yup. My phones is rooted. Can you attach the things I have to flash or is it the same as drivers yakjuxw to yakju tutorials
Thanks

you need to find a ODIN image packaged together in the dev forums.
if you have a custom recovery then just download the 4.2.1 factory image from the dev section and flash it

The odin files are kinda big, you need to do a search.
Or you can download bigxie's ROM, close enough to stock as far as i can see.

I have unlocked bootloader and installed a cooked rom. Now I have to restore back to factory stock (locked bootloader + factory rom and recovery). I've found many guides for CDMA model, but nothing for the GSM one (I believe the process is the same but I need proper files for rom and recovery). Anybody could help? Thanks
Questions do not belong in the development section. Thank you.

The files are posted in Google Groups for both GSM and CDMA versions.

I don't know what file to search for. The guides I found have an attached zip with everything you need. Could you please give me a link to those "google groups"? Thanks
Factory reset it and then fastboot oem lock?

The answers to your two questions are no and no.
But you can do an ADB backup, copy that and your files to your PC, then wipe and install yakju JB.
Edit: more info in the basics and flash links in my signature.

So will that wipe all the data off my phone?

If you haven yet unlock the bootloader, it will.
Beamed from my Maguro.
Yeah I didn't do that yet. Can I use something like lookout backup to backup my apps and contacts and then restore them after?

That is awesome! The people on these forums are very helpful. One more question though. Do I have to root my device to use that?

1) Follow the guide here to back up your data.
2) Move all of your files in /sdcard off your device.
3) Follow this guide to flash yakju (or takju) JRO03C.
All of your questions have already been answered in other threads. This is a good place to start reading...
OK thanks for being patient with me I really appreciate it.

You can use Odin to put CWM to ur phone, then flash Super user. All those files and step by step guideline is available as sticky notes in our forum.

Hey Guys I'm New To All This Rooting And Mod Stuff. My Device Is Currently Running JB 4.1.1 YAKJUXW, I Still Didn't Get The 4.1.2 OTA Or 4.2 OTA. I'm Planning To Upgrade My Device To 4.2 Manually From The YAKJU ROM Available In The Google Developers Site. Can Somebody Help Me In Doing This.
Thanks In Advance.

There's a guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25477039
Its not rooting or modding. What you are doing is returning it to stock condition. My preference is to use Linux as no drivers are required - you can simply download one file from the developer page, extract and flash.
when will yakjuxw receive 4.2 update officially?

Your guess is as good as everyone else's on that. It's Samsung who pushes out the updates for the regional yakju variants and they don't announce when.

Thats exactly what I've done! Google for yakjuxv to yakju there are several ways...
DL the nexus root toolkit there is even a tutorial inside the program for how installing the right drivers. For me the third manual way was the only one working.I actually changed the yakjuxv to takju and (4.1.1 to 4.1.2) and then got the 4.2 update OTA.

And what did you use for upgrading only to 4.1.2 takju? i think this method is best, since you get 4.2 OTA meaning you aint using a fake version for the galaxy nexus
Thanks

Yesterday I bought an new Gnex, white and its specs are: GT-I9250_EUR_XX, 4.0.1 and the build is "full_manguro-eng 4.0.1 ICL23D 285 test-keys" and when I was doing this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895 and when I got to the fastboot mode on my Gnex and i saw that it is UNLOCKED. Have I bought an developer version or something like that?
Not a developer version but locking/unlocking bootloader is easy. Are you planning on flashing any rom's?

Yes, but first I want to put a newer stock firmware, my Gnex doesn´t show any option on it's menu to update so I'm doing (trying) this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895 .

You don't have to update your stock rom. If you wipe and flash a rom it will be the update you are looking for. I think I read about problems rooting the newest version anyways.

I would suggest to install latest factory image from Google site to ensure getting latest radio/baseband version for future flashing of latest custom roms.
