would anyone like an app installer? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Lately, restoring apps have been a pain for me. app2zip freezes midway, titainium does the same, and restoring form the play store takes forever. My needs are pretty basic. Ive been thinking of making an AROMA thing that installs what I need at that time. Like, if I know im just tesing a ROM for an hour, I wont be installing many apps but if this would be my DD, I would install most of them. Just wondering if some of you are in the same position and I could make a mod that puts the "most common" apps into an aroma package and post it. Either way I'll be making one for me. On the thread, you guys can post APK's and I can add it to the zip. Just an idea. Dont want to post it if nobody wants it.

I have similar issues with Titanium & app2zip, so sounds like an awesome idea. Would it be possible to link the apps to the market for updates? And were you going to make a separate thread for posting the apks, or just post them here?
Russian smashed across the interwebz from my T-Mobile Galaxy S2. Please hit thanks if I helped.

I had a similar problem with app2zip on a jmt rom and I was told I needed to extract a file from the rom zip and put it somewhere, don't know if that makes sense but it helped app2zip work a lot better for me. Not sure if you guys did that/know what I'm talking about

Yes but recommendations help. We're humans.. it helps when we communicate with others; jesus I don't get this whole control freak rule of not letting ppl post about their opinions/experiences on ROMs.

The post is not ment to see which rom is better! There are now 7 or 8 roms for our device, I don't want to flash all of them then figure out that the one I was using was best for my needs. So I wanted to know why people were using their specific rom and why because it could help people determine whether to flash that rom or not. So chill out!

That's why the dev puts the features in the op. So you can see if you want to flash. Then if you read a Page or two of the posts you can see what people are saying about it. Basically all rooms are the same at this point. Some just have extra mods or are themed. Try one... or two. Every one had different uses and preferences. So what I say is the best you may hate.

I would doubt it. The s-pen is a Samsung thing. AOSP doesn't support it. I THINK the guys working on a CM10 port here are trying to make it work though. I guess it will have to be some kind of CM10/Samsung Franken-ROM. lol
Been switching between Jedi and clean roms... Both are great roms. Been running jedi 6.1.2 for the last two days and have to say i love it. But i will be checking out clean rom 3.3 soon to see how it runs.
Jedi all the way.. It's a smooth and stable daily driver with everything you will need to get the most out of your Note 2

Using Jedi X6.1.2 and have not seen a flaw.... I like to play around with different roms usually but it will take some miracle to move me off this one. Best of all worlds... using nova launcher touch wiz features and spen heavily. Happy guy here
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I tried Jedi rom first because I do not want to mess around with glitches and want as stable of a rom as possible that gives me the features I want. I will go into a rom thread and check the date of the OP's last update. Then I jump to that date in the thread and start reading about the latest release to see what people's opinions are. Everyone loved the Jedi rom and now I do to. There is not a single thing I can find that doesn't work with it. It is fast, stable and had the multi window feature that has not been released on my AT&T phone yet. Although flashing can be fun, I don't want to keep flashing all the time, so I want to be as stable as possible. Jedi for the win.
The only thing I didn't like about Jedi was the branding text on the bottom of the notification drawer and the lock screen. Anyway to turn those off?

I don't like it too. Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929217 make a backup!
I started with CleanROM but ended up switching to Jedi as well. Been running it since 3.1 and now I'm on 6.1.2. Very stable, great performance, can't find any excuse to flash another.
I'm sticking with stock unrooted with Nova launcher. I've spent way too many hours rooting/unrooting and flashing roms on my last two Android phones (SII Skyrocket & SIII) only to find out each rom had glitches. Stock has great battery life, works with the S-pen, and just works as it should.
That's what im doing but having a hard time not flashing or rooting !!!! I may have a breakdown soon lol

Jedi 6.1.2 is the best rom out there and i can promise you one thing, i have tried all of them but this rom is something else . go for it

A better question for op is to post what parts of the phone you use. And ask what roms would fit.
Blue tooth. Hdmi. Stylus. Note taking / picture editing (fast or not)
Etc...
I love the stock setup. Just not the bloat. I jumped on jedi. Love it tried cm10 which I love (from my old samsung infuse 4g) but it is missing too many pen features for me.
The best option honestly is to try them all. See whats missing that you cant live with out. You almost always give up something.

Yes. It does. HERE. For most of the Galaxy Note models here at XDA.
If this helped - please tell others. I've been doing the same for the Desire HD since that was released too.
I'm a little busy, so I can't get around the forums that much, plus I don't want to over spam.
My favorite Rom after trying Jedi X, Clean, Jelly Beer, and CM10 would be Jedi X if you want something as close to stock with a few added cool features. You don't lose any S Pen features and the toggles are perfect for me IMHO.

Clean rom fan here as well. Love it. Love the extra toggles and configuration of them. Teathering is enabled. Pre-rooted and deodexed. AT&T bloatware is removed, but the option to install them is there if you'd like to retain some of them.
I like clean rom you can use it as a base for more mods and make it your perfect rom, I used to love paranoid and cm10 on my note 1 but after using the note 2 cm10 and paranoid quite frankly blow balls compared to stock jellybean or a modified version like clean rom, jedi or even miui which has s pen integration
In the end its what you like so just be safe and try some out to see whats best for you

THIS! I love the CleanROM 4.0.5 so far. And the dev gave up sleeping and social life to develop multiple ROMs for the Note II in parallel. Give him some support!
Well now that iv flashed about 10 roms here is what I think. Clean ROM is nice and close to whole as your gonna get. What I'm using now and I'm really loving is Jelly bam! Yes I'm missing s note and a few other small things But what I'm able to do with this is worth it! Jelly ban is like the best of all ROMs together. I'm so in love with how I customized my note 2!

This is why these "suggest me a ROM" threads never work.
Synergy works just fine with no issues if installed correctly.
Those are the onyl two that have multiwindow. Synergy has a more stock look and galaxymod is more themed and custom.
Give them both a try because both are great works from great dev's

[Q] Will the American Revolution HD rom work on my T-Mobile T889???

The description says that you have to have the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100, just wondering if it works for my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 2 T889. Im going to attempt to root my phone for the first time (or for ANY phone EVER for that matter) and would like to try this one out since it's the closest to the stock phone. Also, I seen alot of roms don't support the s-pen or true multitasking so this would help tremendously.

No it won't work for the T899. If you're looking for something close to stock, try Jedi Master which includes wifi-calling. If not having wifi-calling isn't a problem then I suggest Jedi X. Best way to find out what is best for you though it's to flash ROMs and try it out
