[Q] A bit of help :D

Hi guys
Well, I'm buying a new Galaxy Note 8.0 next week or the other, and after seeing such as root and recovery, it seemed pretty easy to root and install TWRP with the toolkit
But after doing anything I thought it would be useful if some of you can answer me some questions
Well, first of all I'm not a noob do I know what am I doing ^-^
First of all, when I was seeing the unofficial CM10.2 thread, I saw that I have to unlock the boot loader to flash it, but I couldn't find any thread of how to do it so, if you could tell me
And finally, I wanted to know what's the best ROM for gaming... I will use a lot the tablet with my sister, so I need a ROM that can handle very well for playing heavy games like MC4 or dead trigger, and installing A LOT of stupid apps (sister). So I would like a ROM that has the possibility to OC

use chainfires rooting method, and you can flash any rom you want; no bootloader unlock needed, for the 5110; if you get a different model, then I cant speak to it..

just so you know - best ROM threads are somewhat disliked by the mods, and happen to have very short lifespan

depending on your device, there are only a couple to try, so if thats too much work for you, then good luck.....

I'm reading the instructions but i am looking confused
how do i go about installing a custom rom on this device?
I'm not new to android rooting and run a custom rom on my phone with twrp... runnubg a beanstalk rom on my phone (not a samsung)
could someone post links for order of use? i am confused by the posts i have found here and can't comment because of my noob status on those threads.

That will get you rooted. Vanilla ROM to start. Have to give people a chance to do things. Also helps to donate and encourage instead of demanding.

I'm HTC wildfire s new user and I want to root my device in a SAFE SAFE SAFE SAFE SAFE .... way
please give me the best link or way to do this...
an other request is I want to install a custom android 3 or uper on my device give me the best room which works very good and does n't destroy any thing in my device..............................

If you believe you want a really safe way to root and a rom that doesn't "destroy" anything..... 4 words
YOU DONT NEED ROOT!

Dude, c'mon...
... it takes two seconds to look for a rooted ROM on xda.

I know it takes 2 secs but I afraid of rooting!!!
Because my friends say your phone will be sth like stone if you don't know how to root and because of this I'm looking for a safe method to root.

hello,
I used the stock rom all the time I have this device,
however it looks like I have a problem and I need to full wipe;
AND I HATE START EVERYTHING FROM THE BEGINING !
So, can u suggest some good roms ?
And please I need u to tell me about full features and if u can some screenshot

So first there is no best ROM though.. but I'll give you some suggestions
If you want full S5-like ROM, DN3 is a great one. Though I get some lags a bit, maybe it's just my device.
If you want stock-like old note 2, omega ROM is great or ARHD. And they are so stable and fast!

One of the big NO NO's on XDA is creating duplicate topics that ask same questions that have already been asked/answered.
Another is asking "what is the best rom" because there is NO ANSWER because "best" is a subjective term and nobody can tell you what is "best" for you.
Best answer = Go and try some and stop been lazy.

Try all ROMs and YOU tell me which one is the best

Why should we screenshot when every ROM thread has screenshots in their OP(Original post).Give me your phone and I'll try few ROMS that I like and give it back to you with one ROM I enjoy the most but you need to sign a contract that you won't dare change that ROM or use stock rom.If you break this rule I will sue you in XDA court :cyclops:

Please test these things for yourself. That is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then,
you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.

[Q] Advise on Rom choice

Hey People,
Looking for advise on a Rom for the Note II - I am a new Note II owner,
I have SLIMFAST 4.4 v-4 on it now...
I have not looked around enough to know what ROM is the most complete - I want KitKat.. but I want most complete..
I really would like to put one rom on, and not touch for the next long while if possible.
Suggestions? I want USABLE 1st .. not cutting edge.

OK, couple of things
1. I see so much talk about the bootloader for this phone.. is there an FAQ or can someone help me know what bootloader I have? what I want? and what my dangers are??
2. I need a phone I can listen to text msgs from people through bluetooth and then send a text using bluetooth voice .. So I need a rom and I think s-talk? to do this??
3. Is there an IRC channel for XDA? or somewhere I can chat with people about this realtime??

Well if you looking for something with svoice you would wanna do a touchwiz rom

OK, I am looking at a few different roms.
I see there was an offical a few weeks ago and that they one has been ported to the i317m - which one is that?
I also see lots of talk about bootloaders.. I see 4.2 4.3 etc.. my bootloader is i317mvlucmk5... I see nothing about 4.2 or 4.3?? what do I have??

The one I have 4.4 slimfast is a tw rom correct?
I messed it up some.. I think I will reflash.. but there is so much talk about bootloaders and deoxed, etc.etc.. this much more complicated than my old LG and Cyanogen.

It's not any more complicated. Don't worry about odex and stuff. Just stay in the development threads here and flash what you like. Not trying to be mean here but these types of threads are not necessary. Just make a nandroid and flash away and see what best fits your needs. Each rom is subject to opinion. I use slimfast and have had no issues with it.

I keep asking questions, and you give me other replies rather than answers... If might be straightforward and easy for you. and maybe screwing around with a $350 phone is no issue for you.. but me.. not so much.
"In theory you should be fine if you do dirty flash from another 4.3 rom such as DN3 v1.0 or SN10
We recommend TWRP 2.6.3.1 to flash this rom.
You need 4.3 boot loader.
Have both TWRP and latest CWM on your external SD Card along with Ditto Note 3.1.1
Flash TWRP 2.6.3.1, go into Wipe and slide to do the Factory Reset."
This is not straight forward to me.. since I have no idea if I have a 4.3 bootloader - says I HAVE TO HAVE ONE.
TWRP is at 2.7 now .. is there a reason he says to use 2.6.3.1??? on a rom that was updated 3 days ago??
These are the things that bother me.. I am not interested in bricking my phone.

If that's what the developer says to use then use it. I would say he knows why to use 2.6.3.1 but that's not really important. Samsung phones are very hard to brick if you follow the directions. I'm no expert dude, all I do is follow the directions in the OP. If you do that you will be fine. What were you running prior to slim fast? If you're not sure you have the bootloader you can just flash it again.
