when I paired my HOX to a plantronics bluetooth headset to make/receive calls, the person on the other end could hardly hear me, the sound is mumbled and broken, and when someone calls from Skype or Google Voice, there is a loud and squeaking sound almost like a fire alarm. does any one else experienced this? is there a solution? thank you so much in advance.

Whenever I make a call, the receiver can barely hear me. It sounds like my voice is muted or the microphone has something obstructing it. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
The phone rings both the headset and the evo.
When anwering the call with the evo the call is not transfered to BT. Answering the call via the headset works correctly.
Voice dialing doesn't work through the headset. The Evo seems to turn on the speakerphone instead of listening to the headset.
Any ideas? Should I get an Iphone instead? (kidding)
it is supposed to answer at the headset if you use the headset to answer the call so if your bluetooth is not within reach you can still answer the call. Are you initiating voice dial thru the headset with a long press...Ihave the Pro and it works fine with my EVO
same here, if i answer on the headset it goes straight to headset, if i answer on phone it goes to phone until i press the call button and it transfers over

Yes long press.
Are your sure that Evo is hearing you via the headset?
I'd like to long press and then say "call home", which works if I'm close enough to the phone. If its on the dashboard I almost have to SCREAM.

thats exactly how ALL BT headsets work, or are supposed to..
As far as voice dialing, it sounds like operator error, as I have the same headset, and it works perfectly for me all the time..

As far as operator error what could I possibly be missing? Its pretty straight forward.
Also I have the bug where in I speak to Vlingo and then turn off BT, EVO reboots.
i need a bt headset that can show or tell me who is calling me.I ride a motorcycle and i need to know who is calling me and to accept or deny the call handsfree.I now have a Jabra bt3030 and the Enhanced sms&call id.I can hear caller id reading sms/mail/notifications BUT not the caller's id.The jabra cant play phone's ringtone, only makes a beep when incoming call.
Anyone knows a bt headset that can do that?

I think the jawbone era/icon has that function; not sure though
o0 we have a funny guy here with 11 posts
The Motorola Finiti does also, but it only does saved contacts. It says who is calling and says "say answer or ignore" also it has "stealth mode" that knocks out most wind (up to 45mph) and background noise.
I'm interested in any recommendations for a headset to make voice conversations LOUDER... Wired or wireless, voice quality is good enough, and I do need a mic. Battery operated would be ideal.
I frequently call a 'help' line that usually gets transfered overseas, and I can't hear a thing in a noisy computer room. Local calls work fine, but once they transfer the call I can't hear very well at all.
The inline amps discussed here would be an inexpensive option, but I don't think they work with a mic. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered a custom ROM. Several of them will boost call volume.
Απ: Amplified headset for S3 voice conversations
He can do that with a kernel.Roms that have a kernel as package can boost your volume.I have boosted a bit my speaker and the earphones like full boost! You cant stand to listen music after 20 minutes!!

I would love to control the ability to mute and unmute my phone from my watch. I couldn't find any app that would allow me to do it. Has anyone found one?
Simple. ..wear mini launcher

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I want to mute/unmute my phone during a phone call. I generally use a bluetooth headset to take my calls so it would be great if I can mute/unmute the call from my watch instead of getting my phone out.

Why not get a headset with that capability? I can mute/unmute calls with my Plantronics Voyager Pro.
Unfortunately, my BT headsets don't have the mute functionality.
