How to use Aroma? Confused. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I have Jellybomb installed and I am note really sure how to access the Aroma menu? There really is not much info about it and I really want to check it out.
Can someone give me more info? How to use, what it does exactly?
Thanks again!

If you have 10.2 or 11 installed that menu you used to install the rom is the aroma menu. Its used to give you different options

Okay got it! I updated my rom and I must say it is amazing. It is a custom rom installer that allows you to edit options related to the rom. I changed my drop down menu to not have the jellybomb image at the bottom as it took too much space and looked kinda cheezy. Love the rom and thanks dev's for including this!
Amazing.

[Q] Looking for a rom please...

Hey gang,
Right now I have an Evo with stock sense...its been rooted...I see roms with the cool tv effect when you put it to sleep. I really like it! Is there a rom with everything working that has those cool animations like that?
I want my visual voicemail to work...and camera ect...I want all things working if possible. So again I am looking for a straight foward rom that will have those cool animations!
Thanks!

Are you talking about the screen on/off animation?
If so you're looking at Gingerbread.
Try an AOSP ROM.
I suggest CM7.
That's the gingerbread animation. If you want to try one, I would recommend any variant of CM7, but probably nightly 35 or RC4. You could also try Destroyer.
Link to download CM7 nightlies:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=nightly&device=supersonic
Ok I am downloading the 35 nightly build for my evo...so what is the easiest way to wipe it for the rom? I have my pictures saved from my SD card thats all I need really...
From my understanding do I throw the zip on the sdcard and go into recovery?
Please help a newb or link a newb to a few easy steps to flash the evo with this new great rom! THANKS!

Go into the recovery and wipe /system /data /boot /cache /dalvik cache
Then flash the zip
Full wipe, place on sd card and flash along with GApps. I think someone explained it once, lemme look around.

You don't have to flash a CM or AOSP ROM in order to get the animation you mentioned. It is available as a seperate zip file mod.
I don't think it is. If it is, it's news to me and a bunch of other people.

Yeah last I heard, there wasn't one.
Thanks everyone I got CM 7 working...I love it but in I think I will miss Sense! Is there any Sense roms
you suggest? Thanks!
if you want the screen off animation, you have to stick to AOSP. The animation is part of 2.3, and all the sense roms in the forum are currently running 2.2.
My suggestion is to stick with AOSP for a week just to see if you like it. It's different, but much faster and less bulky. Definitely give it a chance, as Cyanogen's work has the best reputation for a good reason...
One reason I don't like it is...for example...my girlfriend used to call me and it would bring her facebook picture up with status ect...now I don't see that...minor I know! Or any of my facebook freinds who are my contacts...
I think there's an app that syncs Facebook with your contacts. I don't know what's its called, I got my daughter the lg phone and she has it.
Thread moved to Q&A.

Sign into Facebook. Open your contacts and select someone. Hit menu, select edit. Hit menu again, select "join". You can link contacts with Facebook contacts in that way. Its not too too bad, but a little slow if you have a lot to join.

You wont have the cool 2.3 animation but if you like sense based roms than I would sugest Dark Cocoa 3 or any of Kings roms. They are fast for sense and the theming is pretty sick.
I am messing around with Eternal prophecy right now...its a sense rom...
I would love to try the dark rom...is there an easy way to swtich roms or have multiple roms?
Thanks for your help!

Looks awesome!! Exactly what I was looking for, but I don't understand how to 'apply using CWM'..
Do I need to replace the original files with your files using root explorer for example?
Well done buddy, looks so clean.

CWM is a custom recovery image that you can use to 'Flash' roms/themes/mods etc. Check out the dev section for a howto and more info. Awesome theme btw, it's got the stock look but with a much more refined feel, great work
Forgive me for this, i did search but in my experience forum searches somehow miss out what im looking for, can I just install clockworkmod through rom manager or is it more complicated than that? Im on rooted stock ke7 so I understand I'd need a deodexed rom such as lightening rom before I did this, although I don't know what deodexed means lol
Awesome! I love the whole look and feel of it. Amazing, keep on the good work and for all your Launcher Pro / ADW users, you really have to try this Go Launcher EX. It has the same customisation. However the screen transistions are a lot smoother!
Just what ive been waiting for, lol this will be the reason i actually bother to flash a custom rom.

Clockwork is installed via Chainfires kernel for KE7 or KE2 roms, flash this for clockwork mod but if you want to use this theme first flash Villainrom and deodexed just means the rom can be themed really.
Hi together, I'm new on this forum and I have a question about this theme. Do I need to root my phone or not. If yes, then where can I find some theme without rooting my phone, because I dont want to lose my warranty! And sry for my bad english!
Changelog 01-06-2011:
- Shadow added on my icons inside my go launcher theme, see screenshots!
Didn't work for me on Lightening 1.1, everything force close and the phone wouldn't respond. All is well though as I have just flashed VillainRom and flashed this theme as well, this theme is exactly my style. Not all flashy and glowy. Its perfect! Thanks.

Use this kernel and it should work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
But I dont get it.. Installed Villain 1.1 and still no luck.
The lockscreen is all messed up. I have the pattern lock and the dots are not within the circels but outside. Also Im not getting the awesome lockscreen you have.
I do and did have widgetlocker installed, but even if i disable or delete it Im not getting the lockscreen.
After flashing the zip i still have the touchwiz interface. Only thing that changed is messing up my pattern lock and changing the battery icon etc.
Also the messages are still rounded and not sqare as shown.
Or should I install your modified Go Launcher to get the phone like shown on the pictures in first post?
Could you please make a step by step how-to?
Changelog 02-06-2011:
- Some icons updated
Great Job. Can you please change network, Data and Wifi notifications to blue color like battery color (so all notifications will be consistent).
Thanks again.
carnt i just install via odin?, im on stock ke7 at the mo and will have to install villian rom to get this right?

battery percentage

Is there any way to add battery percentage on top? Like this ..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1304375
That is no problem, just received my GN adn I will soon work on it. If ICS is not completely different, it`s fairly easy.
Sounds good. The only thing i'm missing (maybe also Extended Power Menu).
Don't understand why Google does not integrate Battery Percentage as standard.

Perka, thanks so much for doing this. It's really useful.
Could someone help me make sense of how to install this? If I'm running the stock ROM, I gather I need the files in "Stock_SystemUI_framework-res_GN_Deodex_ICS.ITL41F-CWM," but then what do I _do_ with the files here? (I see apks I could install, but then there are other files too...)
Also, Perka, you mention a link in your sig to a new version with larger icons, but I can't figure out what link in your signature it would be -- I'm guessing it should be at the "Perka´s File Stash" link, but there doesn't seem to be a link there. (And the other lines in your signature don't seem relevant.)
Thanks!

I have posted a request for a zip file containing an AOSP Lockscreen to run on touchwiz base GS3 T999. I have not been helped and feel really left out. Could someone, PLEASE, PLEASE help me to find one or even make one if that's not to much to ask?

Can you link me to the request thread in question ? I will take a look. Also please link to the Zip file that's not for your phone.
As far as Lock Screens go, AOSP and Touchwiz are not compatible. Having said that, Most of AOSP roms prefer Dash Clock or other such Lock Screen Widgets. If you really are looking for AOSP experience on Touchwiz, you can try Magic Locker app in play store.
He might want to look into Xposed modules too. I know they have a mod for it, but he has to learn how to use Xposed first.
Also, I really want to say that I remembered seeing an AOSP lockscreen zip in Themes and Apps, but it might have been in another forum section since I bounce around so much. I'll look for it in the next few days or so.
If all else fails, flash an AOSP ROM and theme it TWiz style. That's a sure fire way to get best of both worlds *cough* unless you still want wifi calling and other TWiz features will be lost *cough*.

The AOSP lockscreen in Dandroid came from S3Rx. If you want the stock look, use S3Rx, not Dandroid.
This is a job for a custom ROM. I feel like you're trying to reinvent the wheel.

Yea MAN! It works on my stock 4.1.2. Although I have a few more questions if you don't mind? 1st the one AOSP I was using on the DANDROID had a way to access on the screen options to add more apps in the lock screen. I wonder if this can be done? And 2nd do you know if this will work when I update to 4.3 stock when it comes out? Just some thoughts but again thanks a million!!!

The On screen options to add more is called Lock Screen Widgets. That's pure AOSP feature. Yes go right ahead. It will work just fine. If you come across other modules that use Xposed apps then they too will work for you.
I do believe for 4.3, the Xposed Apps APK you just got will be updated. You will then have to get the latest apk. Or perhaps you could be lucky and it is already updated.

Cool thanks. Still a little confused though. The module is active and working AOSP Lockscreen 1.1 but there is no options listed to change apps on the screen. I checked in the settings, lock screen, lock screen options and screen lock but there is nothing. No widget either to allow for customizing apps. Am I missing something?

[ROM]ZVC Deodex Stock Root Flashable zip

Here's a DEODEXED Stock Rooted ROM. Thanks LG for this ***** of a keyboard!
Must have unlocked bootloader.
In TWRP, factory reset, then wipe /system, /cache, /dalvic, and /data. (Do not wipe internal data, /data/media - that's your SD.)
Also works with KK versions of CWM and TWRP
The usual Disclaimer: You do this at your own risk!!!
First boot can take up to 4min. Be patient
So on first boot, to stop LG Keyboard from FC'ing, you'll need to go into Settings>Language & Input, and enable Google Keyboard
If you want LG Keyboard to work, you'll need to install Xposed framework. HERE
When it boots up, turn off Wifi. For some reason it always turns itself on when first booted up.
Then go to Settings>System Updates and update Profile, PRL.
Then Settings>Activate this device.
If you're trying to fix issues, use ZVC Stock Odexed found HERE
__________________________________________________________________________-
This version, other than being Deodexed, is identical to the original Stock Rom. Even the Kernel will show LG. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO UPDATE TO THIS if you have a prior version. But I think this one is better.
I'm keeping it as close to original stock as possible.
New Deodexed ZVC
Some info:
All apps are there now - minus Qualcom - added Google Keyboard
Zipaligned
_____________________________________________________________________________
New Stripped version - all apps that update with the other versions have been removed. This gives /system some breathing room. I'm still keeping it close to Original
Stripped ZVC
Zipaligned
Removed:
Chrome
GMail
Google - Books, Movies, Music, Magazines, Videos
Google Search - The space is there, but it'll be blank until you download it
Google text to speech - You must download this to have voice texting and Search. Then enable it in settings
Google +
Hangouts
Google Maps
You Tube

Directions - and DO read this!!
V1 Keyboard info:
The keyboard is in /data. So when this first boots, go to Settings>Language & Input, and select as Default or you wont have a keyboard. It's the Google keyboard.
If you want the LG Keyboard, DL from HERE. In TWRP, wipe caches, install. Then DL Xposed framework from HERE, and install. Reboot. Now you have both keyboards. (Stealyourface figured this out.)
I made a V2 since we already have to go into settings, we might as well have both keyboards.
V2 Keyboard info:
Both are installed. LG will force close until you select Google Keyboard in settings. Then no more FC'ing.
Same to use LG Keyboard - install Xposed Framework

Only good thing is.... Ours isn't the only LG that messes up when Deodexed. You just have to show off making them work. lol

Wow, didn't mean to get everyone riled up lol. The thank you was to the original poster engine95, I hit the wrong button. I have been playing with the kitkat ROM and my back up was corrupted, thus it was very helpful to find a stock rooted ROM. Anyway... Merry Xmas and thanks, it was very helpful.

New version of Deodexed Stock
This updated version has ALL the LG markings/files. Kernel is also stock LG. You don't have to update to this. Unless you want.
Still has LG Keyboard issue, so read the OP!
I'm keeping this as close to Original Stock as possible, just cuz.
Deodexed

All apps included - except Qualcom
Google keyboard included - You must enable on first boot. READ OP!
Look for a Stripped version soon. All apps that get updated will be removed. They end up in /data when you update anyway.
New Stripped version in OP - make sure you read about it.
If this goes any further, it'll have it's own thread. Maybe we can talk @PartimusPrime and @HPTesla to get to Theming!

I want to but with work as hectic as it's been I have almost zero free time. I've been working on a vanir bootanimation for weeks. That being said, I am starting to buckle down and work on this sort of stuff. So, theming is next. Then when I get my new PC I will start building as well. I'd love to change up the Android UI, most roms look the exact same to me.

What you got in mind bro? I have 0 experience in theming ROMs but I can create graphics and boot animations. Let me know what you need and if you can plug it in where it goes in the ROM we can do it :victory:
Hit me up on Hangouts if you'd think we can work on something: [email protected] :good::good:

While I haven't done it, it doesn't seem too difficult. Just a matter of decompiling the apks, and modifying the graphics in the res folder, then recompiling the apk. That's the basics, if you want to get really into it you can start modifying the xml files as well.
@PartimusPrime
While I don't prefer it, I think alot of people would like to see a dark themed ROM. I'll get you on Hangouts on a few. @HPTesla your bootani looks like it'll be worth checking out! Nice

It might. But I think you just need to switch apn's. There's a thread for Ting that I think has pageplus info.

Backups here are a great idea.
If it does mess up the flash (most likely due to APNs) that's where a backup of the ROM and EFS come into the action.
