You could be using an APN that uses a proxy. Check if your carrier has an "internet" or non WAP APN you can use.

Thanks
The APN I am using has no proxy configured.

Found the root cause of this problem
Hi Guys
i found the cause of this problem and it is very strange, maybe a bug in the firmware.
So whenever i am connected to Wifi (typically at home) google now connects perfectly, and whenever i am driving in my car (connected to 3G) it does not connect at all
it hit me yesterday that whenever i am in the car, the phone connects to the car audio system via bluetooth, so to experiment i switched off bluetooth and google now worked perfectly with 3G connection. I connected the phone to bluetooth again and google now stopped working. So i experimented further and modified bluetooth settings to enable only bluetooth phone audio and disable bluetooth media so google now worked, i re-enabled bluetooth media and google now stopped working
so the problem was bluetooth media connection with the car audio system. Apparently when it is connected, google now tries to route data through it instead of my 3G APN
Does anyone have a solution to this problem ?

i'm having the same problem with google+, wifi it updates, 3G it doesn't.

You may be surprised, but still the same problem in 2015. Fly IQ4405 quad. Thanks in advance for any help!

[Q] WiFi Hotspot when connected via WiFi

So after finding a cheap(er) was of getting mobile internet whilst I am roaming in Europe this summer, my plan is to use my Desire as a mobile hot spot and connect other phones and laptops via it as needed.
I have tested this and it works fine.
But I also have an iPass client installed on my phone which is great for hotel wifi etc but I was wondering if there was any way to make the phone act as a wifi hotspot even when it is using wifi itself to connect to the internet?
Thanks
Dun think so. Possibly there is an app on the market that does it. I do know that wifi will get disabled when u activate hotspot though. Tried routing my wifi through my phone. Doesn't work

No. The hardware is either doing one thing or the other...can't do both. Unless you can find a phone with more than one Wifi chip in it.

[Q] How to allow mobile data when connected to no-internet wifi network?

Hello.
At work we have wifi network that has no interent, I use that network to transfer files from phone to computer, however whenever I connect to that network my phone looses interent connection too, because wifi become the only active network.
Is there a way allow 3g/4g network while connected to wifi?
Thank you.
P.S.
Using rooted stock rom.
Nope. One or the other

Sorry, but I can't believe that.
On Windows, for example, you can specify order, priority, of the adapters at which system will use to connect to the interent. It has to be something similar in Linux/Android...

[Q] Tethering While Connected to Wifi

Hey all, I ran into this problem earlier today while in class and was wondering if anybody has a good fix. The wifi signal in some of the rooms in some buildings here at school is relatively weak, so much so that my wireless card on my laptop has difficulty picking it up, but my phone can connect.
On my old iPhone, I used to be able to create a hotspot using Pdanet while connected to wifi, so I was not using any of my data. Do any android apps provide this or similar functionality?
Quick answer is no. I wanna say back in the day I did it with a root app.
You could use USB or Bluetooth to share the Wi-Fi internet access to your laptop

Happen to remember the name of that app? I am coincidentally rooted.
Pdanet does work, however it disables wifi before creating the hotspot so I cannot broadcast new wifi from existing wifi.

I have the same problem but after I bought dual band (2.4ghz and 5ghz) wireless router. Problem solved. Connet your Note 10.1 2014
to 5ghz wifi network, all Bluetooth devices using 2.4ghz frequency as well as you microwave oven and your cordless phone... it is abit crowded for video streaming.

I am using 4.4.2 stock KK.
I solve this problem, that I clean all bt cache and all paired device's, and than I've connect again (to NY bt keyboard) and now it's fine.
But I still doesn't know what was the problem.

Network issue with a couple of apps

I'm having an issue with Nest Camera app TuneIn Pro and Google Play store.
Nest Camera App isn't connecting to the Nest service, TuneIn cannot connect to streams and the Play store isn't downloading/updating apps.
Other apps I use are working fine.
I believe this issue may be related to the live wallpaper app I downloaded from the Play store. I guess it messed up network settings.
I reset my network settings and am having the same issue.
This only happens on wifi, they work fine on mobile data.
Before I reset network settings I couldn't even connect to my VPN. After resetting the network settings I can now connect to VPN while on wifi. When I do that all of the apps works fine.
How do I reset/fix this wifi network issue?
Did you already tried connecting to different WiFi without using VPN ? your WiFi / VPN may be the cause of the network problem.

I didn't but just did and the other band works fine. I was connected to the 2.4 band due to the wifi issue with 5ghz on Android 10. I've switched to 5ghz and it works fine now.
I wonder why that is...
Correction, the play store allowed updates but the other apps still didn't work.
