You know Flashtool (Not from Sony)?
http://androxyde.github.com/index.html?1355068806000
Use this to flash whatever ftf file you got, and everything will be back to stock as you wished.
Edit:
1. After install FlashTool, just turn off your phone completely,
2. plug USB cable into your phone only (without computer)
3. Press volume down button and hold. (For Xperia S in my case)
4. Plug in the USB cable into Computer with holding down the volume down button
5. Flashtool will automatically detect your phone and in the flashmode.
6. Just pick the ftf file you have downloaded from anywhere else, then just flash in.
Just leave those option as default (what I did before).
Note!!! You will lose everything, including your userdata and remember to wipe everything ( The option ticked by default)

This is weird, I never have this kind of problem...
Ok, how about you try the following:
1) Inside your flashtool folder, there is a folder called "driver(s)" right, open it and install every .exe driver. ( I have no flashtool beside me, school...)
2) then plug in your phone (normally), let the driver settle down with your phone.
3) Disconnect and then connect in flashmode (sure you know how already)
4) Choose flashmode and pick your ftf as you did before.
Just curious, is your ftf file complete? Mean nothing, just curious that maybe the downloading of file is not complete...
I also face same problem when I update my acro s with flashtool but I restart again nd again in bootloder mode (switch off nd on while holding down volume key)nd it working

You can also try the official Sony flashtool. Here is the link with instructions video: http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...ocked-xperia-smartphones-video-beta-download/

I had the same thing. I wanted to go back from CM10 and I didn't know how.
I didn't have the drivers for the custom-made Flashtool either, but then I tried to download the official, recently released Flashtool by Sony.
Worked like a charm!
The only thing I had to do was connecting the phone to the PC and pressing a button. I really recommend it.
According to OP, he/she mentioned that the phone is Xperia SL, and is not officially support by SONY Flashtool.
He/she said tested with SONY Flashtool in other thread.

You got me there.
Still, the Xperia SL is nearly the same as the Xperia S so I figured it would just work.
Then again, this isn't an Xperia SL subforum, it's for the Xperia S, Acro S and Ion, so I don't think it should be posted here anyway

Yeah he does since he is on CM10.
I also have the same problem since Sony Flashtool does not support Xperia SL and I need to convert SUS update to a .ftf file.
I flash back mine,
i got a stock firmware of Xperia SL, and i just flash it. then BOOM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921865 this is the forum, and there is the link of stockrom
I had the same problem, always getting error flashing aborted message.
Try downgrading your flashtool to an earlier version , I went from the latest to 0.9.5.0 found here - http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Sony+(Ericsson)/SE+Xperia+S+(LT26i)/TOOLS/Flashtool
I reinstalled all the Xperia S and flashmode drivers drivers by clicking the Flashtool drivers.exe found in the C \Flashtool\Drivers folder
and I also disabled my antivirus, dont know if that helped.
Anyway, try that it worked for me

Hey buddies,
I have a big issue:
My Xperia S is rooted, I did the bootloader unlock with sucess, and, when I flashed the boot.img inside the FXP149 tapioca (I had sucess by ADB), after ask to "fastboot reboot' my device died :/
It can't be recognized anywhere (USB-PC, wall charger, vol up + usb but it doesn't enter in fastboot mode), it doesn't turn on anymore.. When I hold "power button + vol up + vol down + camera button it's vibrate, but nothing happened in display. I had just this feedback.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
Your phone is not dead bubby you can relax, you have to hard reset your phone by hold down button [ power + vol up ] long enough till the phone vibrant 3 times, after that release buttons and press and hold power button for phone to switch on.

Try this, as described above connect the phone in flashmode, [ vol down while connecting to PC via USB cable ] LED will turn green, open your flashtool then flash a new software firmware in ftf" format,
Sent from my Xperia S using xda premium
If you downloaded and flashed the boot.img above using fastboot (that's what I presume), a process which shows a Blue LED, then just download any kernel from here (there's lots of them marked kernel so take your pick) and flash it in the same way using the fastboot flash boot xxxx.img command from your fastboot folder. If not, please explain the step-by-step process and the name all the tools you used so we could guide you to fixing your phone.

I did exactly what you said! I flashed a boot.img from wrong version (CM10 Tapioca instead of Nozomi), so, I guess that this is the mistake to this issue that I having now.
I just don't know the right kernel that I need to flash now to fix this.
Just download stock ics rom and flash it with flashtool after resetting (power+vol up until vibrate 3 times) the phone.
Hey buddies,
I flashed a stock kernel and it´s alive again!
Thank you for support me!!!

Thx for trying to help
I solved ir by myself
I searched net and phond alot having the.same problem
But not solved
So i figure that there r 3 driver for xperia s
U just have to download the first one with flashmode and fastmode driver
Its called ; xperia s driver
If u r already installed drive follow these steps :
Click right click at computer
Then tge last option.. ( i think its properties)
Now go to device manager ( u will see it at top left or right depend in ur language)
Now click + at the last one ,usb,
Now connect flashmode [ v. Down + connect ]
U ill see a new driver called SEMC..... Not sure @@
Click right and choose remove
now the most importent mark true to delete driver then click next
Now u r ready to download the driver
Extra solution is mack sure to mark usb debugging..
If ur in 4.1.2 - 4.2.2
U should : settings-about phone-build number click it around 7 times until u see ur developer
-------
I uninstalled flashtool and downloaded non beta version
Ur ready to go
In flashtool
Connect using flashmode
When LEG goes green do these step
Click at electricity sign and choose flashmode
Choose ur rom and click finish u ill see it will work fine
Otherwise if not
Do not connect ur phone yet
Click in flashmode and choose ur rom
Now press flash and wait till it tell u what to do to enter flashmode
Now connect using flashmode method hold v. Down and connect
If i helped u press thx
No copyright ur clear to copy solution anywhere in ( this forum)
Ary for my bad english
I had the exact problem with my acro S. Problem is that flashmode shuts down after a period of inactivity. So start flashtool - lightning-symbol - flashmode - select everything you need to - flash - wait for pop-up - put phone into flashmode. Maybe you need to start over a couple of times before everything works fine, but believe me: at some point it WILL work. You could start with only flashing kernel or only do all wipes and exclude everything else to see if it works.
The reason I know it is the time-out of flashmode is that after 42 or 43 seconds device will disconnect. Looking into your logs you can tell it was 42 seconds from Device connected in flash mode to Device disconnected

Download FTF Generic .423 firmware found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332539 (for US) if anywhere else just check the Android Development section and search for your region. After that plug in phone, put the firmware in the firmware directory where Flashtools is installed normally C:/FlashTools/Firmware then drag/drop the FTF file there. Flash once again, good luck.

Did you download the proper drivers for your phone? As well not the 12mb generic one that comes with Flashtools, choose the one that is around 700mb. As well wipe data, cache, and so on.

Hmm, did you properly put your phone into flash mode? Also be careful in choosing the FTF file pick the right one for your region, then plug in your phone, after pick the firmware that is an actual ROM so it'll be over 700mb cause it includes everything. Unplug your phone once the firmware is prepared and press the OFF button in the back where the sim card and sdcard go in, wait till it vibrates 3 times and hold volume down, bam your phone should be in flash mode. Now begin the flashing process and do not touch your phone or unplug while flashing. Trust me, I was in your place not too long ago when I first got my Xperia keep trying and learning from the forums. Make sure you note any mistakes.
As well be sure you have the latest flash tools located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335555

Make sure your flashing properly send us your log when you try again, the off button on the back must be pushed in with a tiny object it should vibrate once after 3 seconds and 3 times after 5 seconds. As well if your phone sits dead after pushing that button then there's hardware damage, unless flash tools recognizes it also make sure you have all the drivers for your ZL in all modes. Drivers are located in C:/flashtools/drivers install SOE-blahblah, adb, and fastboot(these are mainly at the bottom of the list)

Now that those 3 drivers are all installed flashtools should recognize your Xperia in flash mode, try using the OFF button for 5 seconds and then hold volume down with the USB cable plugged in the phone and computer. Continue with normal flashing, choose the generic firmware that shows system, kernel, etc in the FTF you should see a ton of .sin packages which is your phones firmware. Flash your phone and just be patient, once done Flashtools will say "flash completed please disconnect your phone" once you do that your phone should boot.
Just an observation or a tip.....open on back the sim/sd tray and should be a "off" button there....click on it and try again put him in flash mode, try this a few times until pc recognizes.
So, i already flash the ROM for about 12 times... And repair and update via SUS and PC Companion for about 7 times... Still no sign of life... But my xperia now only show red LED blinking 3 times... If i charge it, it's stuck on bootstall...
NOTE
Tiny off button on near the sim card is not working anymore

So, is hardware damage is related to "can't turn on the device and only shows blinking red LED, also if i charge it, it stuck on bootstall?"
If yes, can i return it ? Even if i already unlock and relock the bootloader?
As previous mention phone (sony) covered for a year, so you can send in to get a new one (refurbished most case).
I recently pickup a new way to flash phone back to stock, so if you want give it a last shot:
1. Phone Off (make sure phone batery is at least more than 10%, otherwise don't have enough power for flashing process, ignore the 50% req'd).
2. Run your PCC, hit support and then repair - follow the steps, it should ran by itshelf.
3. PCC will ask you to hold vol.down+plugin usb.. do it. It should say downloading ... and when done, your phone now should be back to stock.
Good luck - hope it works for you.

Did you tried every advice that other users in here gave you? That one with the kernel flashing and then ROM flashing it's actually a good idea.

can i flash kernel using "flashmode" in flash tool ? and where can i find kernel to flash, "fasboot" mode don't work, i think
Open Flashtool, press the lightning button, choose fastboot. Now connect the phone while pressing volume up.
Afterall, if your phone is still dead with the way given above, try to repair it with Sony Update Service (not PC Copanion)
Note that it will wipe your data (internal storage will not be wipe)
if u really wanna keep your data, maybe u can backup with update service
Hi, I have Sony Xperia Arc S LT18l.
Earlier I decided to update to 4.1.b.0.587. I got a picture of an open box with an arrow and 4 dots underneath. Then the screen went blank, so I waited for about 30 minutes and nothing changed. Now it won't start, only response I'm getting from it is if I hold power button and back button down at the same time when it is not connected to a computer the LED will blink green and the phone will vibrate and go black. If I hold the power button and back button down when connected to the computer the LED turns green and stays green. The computer says device driver unsuccessfully installed, when I click on that a screen will pop up saying my device driver's name is S1Boot Download.
What should I do?
I see, you made a over-the-air upgrade, which is ROM update directly from the phone, either over WiFi or 3G.
Did you have unlocked bootloader? Because if yes, then that is the cause for that issue. To fix this, check the tutorial in my signature on how to unbrick your phone.

Well that is all correct except that I'm not sure whether my bootloader was locked or unlocked, I've had it for about 2 weeks and never fiddled around with bootloader. Is it possible it came unlocked?

Currently, I can only think of one solution: Download Flashtool, download a stock firmware package (aka .FTF file). As you are using Android ICS 4.0.4, then you might want to search for 4.1.B.0.587 or 4.1.B.0.431 build versions.
Checked my files, I found 4.1.B.0.587 for LT18i: http://www.mediafire.com/download/rhr59r4o6oarnfx/LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_(1254-2184).7z
You will need 7-Zip to extract the FTF from that. Afterwards, install Flashtool, then look into Flashtool folder (by default C:\Flashtool), install drivers (Flashmode drivers). Further on, open up Flashtool, click the lightning button, Flashmode, browse to the FTF file, then make sure to untick "Wipe data", "Wipe cache", "Wipe apps log". By that, you will keep your personal data in your phone and they won't get lost.
If you have any questions, just ask. Once you are finished, let me know of the results.

Ok an update
I tried what you said above again, this time ticking the TA. Everything went smoothly, it said flashing was finished and for me to unplug and start my
phone. The phone vibrates after holding just the power button down for about 2 seconds but remains blank...
Final update
The phone is back to working. I flashed the .ftf in unbrickxperia2011.zip and then flashed 4.1.b.0.431 firmware. Phone is back to normal with no lost data. Thank you very much for your help.
