I too installed cwm on my galaxy w but it wouldn't make backups, I've been searching the forum for a while to find out how to uninstall it, do you just go in to odin and still use ancora as ops? I don't know what 'one package' to install though, any help would be greatly appreciated

Did it give any error on CWM while applying the zip file?
BTW, have you tried by ODIN using md5 released by arco?

oh yes, forgot to mention abt stock recovery..u may have download the stock recovery 1st b4 going to go through for next on steps in case of the stock rom did not provide recovery..if not wrong, when i root when using XXLM8 it come with its stock recovery in its one package file so that i manage to root with stock recovery method..i even make a backup of my stock rom using its own recovery mode, not bad for stock recovery already..
I need a CWM that I can flash via Odin because I cant get my phone root access so I need to flash it in recovery which I don't have, please help.

Thanks got it.
hello everyone, i have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Note II(GT-N7102 Daul sim) that i got from a friend of
mine. im not sure if its a clone or not but im having hard time putting in a custom recovery. the odin
method will not work nor will it go into odin mode and yes ive tried several different ways and it simply
will not work. ive been at this for about a week now.
so my question(s) at this point is:
1. Is there a flash-able recovery zip file that i can install via stock recovery?
2. Is it safe flash a custom recovery using the skipsoft tool kit via sideloader in the stock recovery(ADB)?
or
3. is it safe to install a custom recovery through the Rom Installer App?
morale of the story here folks is i just want put in a custom english rom but i cant do that without a custom recovery. and if anything i just want Gapps to work on my current rom(for now anayways)
also this probably off topic but i would like to know if theres a way to tell if i have a clone or not
your help and wisdom will be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!!
If u want try install recovery..try install twrp..

You must flash first custom recovery from Odin Other you can flash via recovery.
Also the newest I think 2.7.1.0

turns out my device is a clone(MT6577) but can i still flash CWM in the stock recovery?
n7102 play store firmware
Hey guys i need some help. I took out my old Galaxy Grand Duos and thought about rooting it to get Android Kitkat ( I have an International version which has never been rooted before ). I rooted it successfully however I am facing problem with the CWM recovery. When i first installed it I was getting the 'No Command" error. I read on XDA that I need to perform a battery pull in order to get the CWM working. I did that and it worked but it only works when I use odin to flash it. Otherwise when ever I enter recovery I get the 'No Command' error. What should I do?
Secondly im trying to install this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563557 . When i get the CWM working (by flashing it with Odin) there seems to be an error which prevents me from flashing this rom. The message I get is *Cant install this package on top of incapable data. Please try another package or run a factory reset. Error in (the file location and name) (Status 7) Installation aborted*
Thanks in advance

You need to have latest recovery to flash.
Any latest recovery has SE Linux support. Choose latest version or build of your choice from below threads and flash it using your recovery..

Their is a bit more to it than just flashing a zip I suggest you look at the guides and stickies on Xda before proceeding any further or you may end up with a non working device.

Hey bro,
If you're rooted already you can instal your phones custom recovery with Flashify from the Google Play Store.
Once you have the recovery you can get to flashing!
Hope this helps
Better if you are rooted is go to Playstore and download AutoREC for G3 (have 2 versions, one for 4.4.2 other for 5.0 choose the version according with the Android version you have installed), this app will install the TWRP on your phone and download the reboot app to get into TWRP...is easy!
