Does it make a difference what kernel I flash w which rom?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yes. Sense kernels only work with Sense ROMs and AOSP kernels only work with AOSP ROMs.

MIUI is awesome but I just replaced with sense because I had horrible battery life on MIUI (along with some other issues). How's your battery life ?

I'm actually still on 1.1.28. I was planning on updating today but I was too busy playing Uncharted 2. You do not need to flash an AOSP kernel first because one comes packaged with the ROM. All ROMs come packaged with kernels. If you don't like the one it comes with, you can flash a different one after flashing the ROM.
Whereabouts can I find an MIUI rom? I found one and downloaded it but it wasn't a zip file?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
The link to the MIUI thread here on xda is in my sig.
Yea. Thays the one and when I downloaded it it was like a program not a zip file. Did I do something wrong?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
It downloads as an exe file?

Where are you finding an .exe? The "download here" link takes you to the official MIUI release thread on miui-dev where you can download it. It is definitely a zip file. http://forums.miui-dev.com/showthread.php?2053
Ha. Im a retard man. Thnx

I was looking for a way to keep the ripple screen with another rom that it doesn't come with. Is there a way to keep it when flashing another rom? Maybe a cwm zip of it I can flash after I flash the new rom?

Well I want to install some form of JB.

If you are talking about an AOSP ROM then it's not going to happen because it needs TouchWiz framework to work.

Hi guys, I I wanted to know if the DINC could be flashed to another carrier while running an AOSP rom. Or can it only be done on a Sense rom?
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
If you need to modify EPST settings, only Sense ROMs are going to have the EPST.apk and frameworks that allow it to do anything.
Yes it can be. At the time ilive @indonesia

So, I was thinking of restoring my phone back to the original Samsung ICS ROM but I absolutely abhor the TouchWiz UI. I was wondering if anyone here could suggest anything to theme the stock ROM into ICS look.
Any help would be appreciated!!

why dont you just flash an AOSP rom? If not then just download a launcher(Nova, Apex, ect)
edit: Or I'd suggest going JB, most ROMs are stable enough to dd.
AOSP is CM10 right? Its like I keep trying ROMs but each one has issues. But now I'm trying the All Star AOKP and I hope it works..otherwise I'll just go to the stock version and install a launcher.
Thanks for the help though.
