[Q] Remove gps reticle from status bar - HTC One V

Hi guys,
I am using stock rom, and there is a GPS reticle in the status bar all the time, even I don't use gps.
Anyone knows how to remove it? or any mod already there can do it?
Thanks a lot.

I have already disabled all location settings, but the icon is still there - shows gps disabled

You have an app that constantly needs your location to be checked - such as Weather.

Please post in the correct section next time.

Can you upload a screenshot of it?

power toggles works great except for 2 things...

1. No way to set the brightness to 0%.. why won't it go below 10%?
2. GPS toggle brings up location services menu instead of actually toggling the GPS on.
Anyone have a solution to either?
You can always use an app to get those toggles or just wait for the custom ROMS.

Correct me if I'm wrong but 0% means no brightness at all......
So how the hell are u gonna bring it back up when u can't see a thing?

Not sure if it's zero but installed power widget goes much darker than power toggle does
Make power toggles a system app with titanium backup, then pressing the gps icon will turn it on rather than take you to the location access screen.

Just move /data/app/com.painless.pc-1.apk to /system/app/com.painless.pc-1.apk , chmod 644 /system/app/com.painless.pc-1.apk and reboot.
Need root
Thanks!
I would VERY much like to have no icon rather an an invisible one. The blank space seems off. Any possible edits there?
There has to be a way to get rid of the icon. In the description of the app, he mentioned that it can't because of the api but extended controls removes it from notification but when you enable notification controls, a widget is still left on the screen. Which this one has an option to remove that.

The GPS thing is general. After 3.0 update no app is allowed to change GPS state so you need a work around. Tasker can't change GPS states either. Either do it manually, or install secure settings. Needs root.

Yes ofc as u can see in the screenshot there is a huge space between the battery status and the message notification. That is because of power toggles. I choose transparent but the space is still there, how do I move that space? The creator of the app said it cant be done but I am quite sure someone has done it before...so please help me out

has nothing to do with gps mate
fyi an update a few weeks back fixed the GPS on/off location services bug.
still no way to set the minimum brightness below 10 however.
i have to go into the brightness settings and manually move it lower if i want the screen to be dimmer.
that still bugs me.

Power Toggles coupled with Lux is a pretty good combo.

Setting the notification priority to 1 instead of 5 and restarting the app removes the icon. The toggles can't be pinned to top however.

[REQ][i9192] 2G/3G toggle

Hi all
I'm looking for an app/widget to quickly change from 2G (GSM) network to 3G. I tested Intelli3G, but unfortunately it's not working for i9192 ;-(. Is there any way to add the switch to quicksettings bar in the notification? I do have root privileges.
I was looking for it some time ago for previous phone and as far as I remember it was an android limitation, so all available on Play Store widgets were only shortcuts for the system settings menu.
I do know, that it was possible to toggle the network in CM, so maybe there is some hack for Galaxy as well?
Regards.
I am also looking for the same.
I was gonna try this thread to add toggle but I am unable to decomple apk to smali's.

Hello,
I wonder if there is an option to hide the GPS icon in the status bar but GPS will still work in background ?

Now it makes sense..not sure if there's a xposed tweak maybe..the easiest way ask a theme developer if he can create you a system ui with transparent GPS symbol..that is possible

I have not found one that can do the job...most of them takes you into the location settings, not just activate gps. But thank you for replying.
Any idea?
