Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
People should really get out of the habit of using marketing catch-phrases with "G's" in them. There is no 3G or 4G. There is HSPA+ and there is LTE. GoPhone does NOT offer LTE service (yet), but you WILL get HSPA+ service.

Are you sure you aren't looking for Straight Talk?
Straight talk no
I call att no data plan for note 2 not yet
For go phone
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
I work for AT&T, the largest Gophone data plan right now is 1GB. If you stuck a Gophone SIM in the N2, there's a chance the data wouldn't even work. I've heard this from many customers with various smartphones. Talk and text works but data doesn't. Not sure why. But as stated, no LTE for Gophones right now.

No. But it's a good speed.
You can check by going into settings, about phone, status and see what network type says.

Example
Correct. Not LTE, but fair speed for H+, arguably slightly faster than the typical 3G. You're getting the speed I used to get when I was on my SGSII (non-skyrocket) until I upgraded to the SGN2 with LTE here in San Diego.
Thanks. Its says im running LTE:14. So I guess the question now is why am I not getting lte speeds!?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Just ran another test, slightly faster speeds but you can see in the status bar it says 4g instead of h+.
Im running jellythunder perfect storm..which I thought h+ meant lte.
Ideas?

Ok. Than u are getting LTE. The rom u have just isn't showing show in your status bar.
Did u flash an international theme or something that may have caused this?

4G=LTE
H, H+ = HSPA (3.5G)
3G = UMTS
This means that when you are in LTE you won't see the LTE symbol but instead 4G.
Depending on the rom u are using of course. In order verify that your ROM is actually using LTE go System Settings --> About Device --> Status. Look under Mobile Network Type.

I am in a lte area and my status bar now says 4g which means lte. What are normal lte speeds? My last post was the speed test on the lte...that normal?
Thanks again!

LTE = faux G as far as I am concerned.
AT&T is still on 3G .. its just 3G+. According to what I have read, LTE (and WiMax) was originally a "transitional technology." Then it was upped to 4G and HSPA+ is now a a transitional tech. Then some1 dumped a lot of money into an offshore account and transitional tech is 4G.
Cue the nerd rage at this point.
LTE Advanced (as well as WiMax v2 or whatever they were going to call it.) are 4G. These are some way away. With big V saying LTE deployment going into 2015, one could guess we won't see "pure" 4G until almost 2020.
Edit: LTE is 100Mb/s down AND up. LTE adv is basically gigabit. As far as the original spec, 4G = gigabit. So .. we aren't quite there yet.

Well, the symbol at the top left says H+. So, no that not LTE, if it where it would say 4G.
But if its an international port than it says 4g, jedi states so in first post

haha .. nothing like downloading (theoretically) a DVD iso in under a minute.
I'd rather have the lower ping time and the lower bandwidth connection than the higher ping time and larger bandwidth connection.
The fact that your ping is so low makes me believe that you might be on LTE. But it could be an excellent 3G connection or whatever ATT likes to call it to make themselves feel superior. I've seen speeds that low however for LTE when the signal isn't very strong.
On my Note 2, the wifi seems terribly slow. My old phones pull about 40mb/s down and 30mb/s up,
while on this Note 2 I only get about 10 mb/s down and 20mb/s up.
Did Samsung or ATT cripple the Wi-Fi performance on purpose to push their LTE service?
if you are getting good Wi-Fi Speeds, please share your configuration.
This is not a thread for E-peen.
30 MB up? Lol what kind of internet are you using?
Try a different server.. Most users here will average 20 to 40 MB down and 1 to 5 MB up
Sent from my SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I'm getting about 20 down and about 15 up on Wi-Fi. Which is odd, because the Mac in the other room gets about 30/40 down but only 6/10 up. So I get better upload speeds on the Note than I do on the Mac.
Was streaming Hulu on the PS3 when I ran this test, so I dunno if I would get better results without that.

You can grab Phone Info and set your radio to LTE Only. If you still have data, then you are not 'trippin' and have an LTE connection.
What is your speed though? I'm getting pretty good speeds here in the D.C area.
It was only on for a bit, my speeds were no where near what you got.

I get great speeds on 3G, but if it stays on for to long i get a drop in speed. Like the wifi bug.
I have to disable mobile data and then enable it again for the speed to be normal again.
Any other have this problem?
My dad had that bug too in his canvas HD A116
if he doesn't turn mobile data off in 2 - 4 hrs the download speed gets akunlmy it stops.

I'm on Three on an N7105 (unlocked EE) and despite frequent trips through London, and DC showing regularly on my stock ROM (latest SFR), I've never seen any remarkable speeds on DC-HSPA (mostly 3-7mbps). I'm just hoping that 4G when it comes will make a significant difference... Beginning to wonder whether I have a duff device.
