Is there anyway I can downgrade my EVO back to 2.2 without a computer? When I first bought my phone it was already gingerbread, HELP PLEASE NO COMPUTER

If you are rooted you can download the ruu for 2.2 or just flash a 2.2 ROM. If not then no. You need the computer to push the root files.

there is no way to go back you are now stuck, my I suggest that you root it?
---------- Post added at 12:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:00 PM ----------
yeah with no computer the best way would be to buy rom manager full version and do it all through there
Is there any specific reason that you want to go back to 2.2?
I haven't been on the Epic since last year (5 months back now). Now my mom has the phone but it's been rebooting since she updated to ei22. Does anyone know how to fix this problem without rooting or is it a known issue with stock ei22?

It was more than likely a bad download and update. My suggestion if you capable would be to flash back to stock ec05. Play with that to assure its ei22's problem only. After that I would suggest you go ahead and update it make sure your on wifi and download it and let it flash again. These reboots are common in ei22 I think more so on stock than custom roms so rooting my be your only answer if you do want to root I can do it for you xD

the ei22 stock has some issues. do you know how to use ODIN to flash back to ec05 stock and then let it reupdate?

reboots are usually related to the kernel . so might just have to have the update reload and then see if it continues to reboot.

Ok, so I got a old GS II from a friend to borrow until I can afford the stupid $150 deductible for my stolen N4. I tried flashing a t989 rom on it and everytime it gives me an incompatibility error in the recovery. I727 roms flash though. This phone says t989 in the battery compartment but everything in the system says I727. The rotation is screwed up so I'm pretty sure it's a t989 but I can't get anything for it to flash. Please help.
Try using Odin to flash Hercules stock 4.1.2 with Odin. That should get you back on track. Then flash a Hercules twrp with Odin and root again.
Done.

Should do a nandroid before doing anything. Just to be safe.

And.... The reason everything days i727 is it has a sky rocket kernel. Usually if using a sky rocket rom... You would flash a t989 kernel after rom.

Is there any chance you would want to root the 4.1.1 and pull an image of the bootloader using a script one of the XDA users prepared. Quite a few of us have hard bricked our phones and we would like to try and boot from an SD card with the 4.1.1 bootloader. If you can help here is the recovery flashable file to generate the image.

Someone who has FULLY updated to the new build NE4 needs to flash the linked file via custom recovery. This will create a new debrick.img on your sdcard that you can then upload to help rescue the dead devices here. If the new debrick.img has already been found, disregard this.
T999_Partial_Sys_Dump_for_Debrick.zip
I know it says T999 in the file name, but it should work for the I747 just the same.
Hope it helps!
Let me know if you can help.

I tried that one but the update file is bad so it wont work.
Also. I have another s3 running 4.1.2 stock just rooted. Is there anything I could do with that phone to get it on to this one.

ok so i found out and figured out how to update back to 4.1.2
I had to Triangle away and odin back to stock 4.1.1 with no root
Then put the update421.zip from here
Then boot into the stock recover and flash the update file.
Bam now I have 4.1.2 Stock un rooted.
Next I'm going to root it and dump it for you.
If your phone isn't unlocked, you could flash back to 4.1.1 and unlock it.
If you are on 4.1.2 all you need to do to unlock is flash the 4.1.1 modem.
Hi I am new to this forum and since I have seen multiple methods of rooting, I want to know which root method for SM-T217S was most up to date and relevant.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you
I used Odin to flash twrp, then just flashed the supersu Zip from there, or if I'm not mistaken, towel root is compatible with it, but i may be wrong
---------- Post added at 04:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 PM ----------
Or you could Odin the recovery, then just install a rooted stock rom
Flashing supersu update zip from recovery is the easiest way to root this device
Please search before creating threads
