Sorry it took so long ive been playing a bit to much black op's 2

no reboot menu?

Nope its a clean rom with minimal addons
if i start adding things before long it will be bloated
and defeat the point of it

I have uploaded The final Eos3 Build 155 Kernel (27th Oct) Just incase the Eos4 Kernel Causes any slowdowns/problems

Thanks for doing this. Before I install this kernel though - Is the stock kernel available from somewhere in case there's a need to go back to it.

Thanks once again Shonk, working well with the OC GPU kernel.:victory:

Well, I installed this mod anyway and after the Motorola 'Dual core' screen goes away I just get a blank screen.
Any ideas?

Did you get any error messages during the installation?
Restart into recovery and try installing again.

Hi,
No error messages and a reinstall of the mod had no effect.
One possible issue was that the Xoom came to me with TWRP recovery installed and I read elsewhere that it can be flaky at times. I have now wiped the Xoom, installed CWM and a pre-rooted JB image.

This thread seems to have gone quiet--any reason @ShonkUK? I am thinking of installing the jb 4.1.2 +SMTP--since I use 3 email addresses--is there a need to flash a Gapps zip as well--or is gapps included?
If this thread is quiet--does that mean that you have a more up to date ROM thread?

This is the latest i myself use this with the eos 3 27th october kernel in the thread
Its 100% for me
No need to flash gapps

Thanks for that info, ShonkUK, I will give it a go-plus the kernel you mention-can we go straight from 4.0.4 to your ROM?

Any reason to mistrust TWRP, as in the post above? I prefer TWRP, and use it on nearly all my devices, only exception is a Tab 10.1 which has very limited space and can't spare the necessary Mb to make the switch.?

Aslong as its ota or pre rooted should be fine
wipe dalvik and cache though ofc
no idea on TWRP i use cwm
Its not something that is used often and have never had any issues with cwm
TWRP gave me issues the one time i used it about a year ago
so i diteched it no point having a fancy recovery if it causes problems
most of my devices i dont even use cwm these days and just sign the zip
and use stock recovery (my galaxy note for example)

" just sign the zip
and use stock recovery"--slow down there, Soldier--don't confuse me????
So, as long as I have Rooted the Xoom--I can go ahead and flash your ROM--please take things slowly as I'm a bit elderly for all this--we'll get on to 'signing the zip' later.
P.S. I also have a Note 2 and I use TWRP on that, also--you just use Android Recovery, wow, that's an unusual perspective, no?
P.P.S.--If you're in the UK you really are a Night Owl, eh.
If you don't have any 'fancy' recovery how do you make backups--as in Clockworkmod and TWRP backup?

You can flash the rom from any rom
if its a stock rom or a rooted stock rom just clearing cache and dalvik is fine 99% of the time
if its something like eos sometimes you have to factory reset as the rom layout is different
so it will get stuck in a boot loop if you dont factory reset and clear dalvik
the Note recovery allows test keys
I doubt the Note 2 does as my S3 LTE doesnt
so i have to pre root the samsung image
so it isnt detected as tampered..
Any app backups i usually do with Titanium Backup

[ROM] Stock rooted 6.3

In keeping with my tradition of providing stock rooted ROMs, I've re-packaged the new 6.3 update. As with my past ones, this is completely stock except for modifications that provide root access. It does not attempt to block OTAs in any way, and it does not contain any extras like the Market.
This is a full ROM, not an incremental update, so it will wipe your /system partition when installing. If you're coming from a non-stock ROM you'll want to wipe data/cache, but if you're coming from a previous stock ROM you should be okay. This is tested in CWM (it's what I have onhand right now) but TWRP should also work.
Changes between this and a completely stock 6.3 ROM are:
REMOVED FROM ROM
The new /system/bin/check_rooted binary
Stock recovery image
Stock bootloader image
That goofy userdata-backup.zip
ADDED TO THE ROM
Superuser
su
busybox
CHANGES
Removed the entry from init.omap4430.rc that ran check_rooted at boot.
Set ro.secure=0 so adbd runs as root (insecure boot version only)
updater-script doesn't attempt to install recovery, bootloader, or userdata-backup.zip file since they are not in the ROM.
updater-script won't check your /system partition's size before installing. This means it will install on a /system partition that's been resized, but I have not tested this. My assumption is that if you resized /system you'll know how to handle any errors that you may encounter.
I'm providing secure and insecure boot images, as with my past versions. For those unfamiliar, insecure means adbd runs as root on your Fire so you get a root shell when you use adb to connect (i.e. you get # by default). Secure gives you a user shell (the $) by default, but you can still use 'su' to elevate to root.

I would say probably yes since it's mostly stock, but I've never tried so I can't say for certain. Worst case should be that you bootloop, at which point you can always go back into recovery and wipe data, too.
Perhaps the dumb question, shall I just download and flash it by TWRP like other CM Roms? Please excuse I am noob. Thank you

Updated successfully, but for some reason CWM is unable to make a back up, gives me an error listing that it can't write the cache img. Has anyone else had this issue or is it isolated, and is there a fix? Thx in advance for help.

I've had CWM (and TWRP, actually) refuse to mount my cache partition in the past, and rebooting generally fixed it for me. Not sure if that's what's happening to you, though.

I recently repartitioned my KF following the guide you posted using the GNU parted method. What I did was increased my media storage and shrunk my cache partition to 350MB and userdata partition to 700MB, would those settings affect CWM in anyway? The other thing I noticed was after I get the error, I reboot and check the CWM folder to see if anything did save, and it looks like it doesn't compress the back up while saving it. I found a partial back up of 2.35GB after the error. This is a strange one
Update: okay figured it out. The problem was CWM was trying to back up the /sd-ext volume. I unchecked it in the advanced back up option and ran the back up without a hitch.

Can anyone confirm that the browser did not update to the newest version?
To access reading view, I was told "At the bottom of the display there is an eyeglass Icon tap it the screen says loading and you will have the view. Back arrow out of it."
I don't see an eyeglass icon on this rom.

It works for me, but only on certain web pages (I'm guessing ones that are text-heavy). Try viewing some random Wikipedia article, for example. The icon also doesn't appear until about a second or so after the page has completely finished loading.
Just bizarre, I am not getting it. I looked at wikepedia articles too. I am using the insecure rom if that makes a difference.
What version should the browser be now?
I have 1.0.13.328_10008910
Gonna go clear data, etc.
Well, heck, that did it. Thanks for that. Interesting feature!
Flashed this succesfully... but i neglected to wipe the system and accidentally flashed the 4.0 gapps package after. Boots fine but i am getting an android.process.acore FC and a Calender session FC. Any suggestions? I came from JC's ICS build and I am thinking of just going back to that.
Update. Nevermind. Just went back to ICS. The Stock Launcher gives me douche chills.
Swype?
Anyone who has Swype working on 6.2.1 or 6.2.2 installed this? If so can you tell me what happened to your Swype and were you able to get it working again?
I'm still on 6.2.1 (updates blocked with Droidwall) and went through so much hassles getting everything working *just* right, I'm trying to decide if the changes in 6.3 are worth potentially having to re-do Swype, market, calendar/contact sync, etc.
Edit: Any hope for an incremental update on this one? I loved the ones for 6.2.1 and 6.2.2.
Edit2: Any issues with market or calendar/contact syncs (for those of us who had set that up)?

Yesterday, I downloaded both Tabooyay and flexreaper from posts found in the Rom Thread in the General section.
Just curious if the two you have posted here in Development are the same or if you have made modifications within the last 24 hours?
I haven't flashed either yet so I'm just curious. Perhaps you could give each a version number or some other identifier.
The MD5's I get are:
Taboonay_A100.zip >> d16775ad627af91e43045d5a686a976a
Flexreaper_A100.zip >> 6b463663fc008ac2cb7a802c960e195b
MD5's are your friend. First thing to tell people to check if they experience issues.

Nandroid backup, clear cache and wipe everything and then just flash using CWM.
No Acerring on this one, i'd have to mess with the build.prop. it's a couple lines at the bottom that don't work with the acer ring.
Currently I'm running the ICS leak, should I back to stock HC first?
Will it work if I running CWM-ed HC? (because getting CWM on ICS looks much harder)..

I full wiped then install it from CWM, it took about 5mn to boot, and now it's work perfectly! seems really smooth!

A lot of the custom roms from the a500 don't support install-recovery.sh
And for R/W just create an .sh file with the adb R/W script and just run it as root through the terminal
su
sh rw.sh
is what I do.
plus i'm not doing ports anymore i'm just going to do custom roms based off the a100.

Is flashing an updated ROM the same process as flashing the original?

Sorry for the noob question. I searched but i couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. Here's the deal...i have had alot of rooted phones but i just rooted my own phone for the first time, obviously the GNex. I used the toolkit i found on here and it went great. I am using TWRP recovery cause it was recommended by AOKP and when i flashed there new Jb ROM i noticed how twrp is set up a lot different then CWM. I found out that i had to factory wipe before flashing. So getting to my question. When i flash the update do i do that same wipe or do i wipe cache, davlik and/or system? Also i gotta do a back up first right? Then with gapps is it the same steps as flashing the update? If someone can show me the way that would be great. Thanks.

1. Backup current ROM
2. Wipe
3. Flash new ROM
4. Flash GAPPs (if required)
5. Reboot
Well, for updating purpose you've only to wipe cache and dalvik (but i think it's not mandatory for all the rom) then you straight flash the rom and gapps (everytime both) then you reboot and you're good to go! And backup is always welcome!

If you're staying on the same rom with just an update you probably don't have to wipe unless you have issues upon reboot but otherwise you probably always should.

There is a version for no data wipe and data wipe. Make sure you don't get them mixed up. The data wipe versions do not delete the /data/media folder.
This is a Jelly Bean Rom. As I stated earlier it does not include a kernel. So if you are coming from a Rom that isn't Touchwiz or Jelly Bean you need to first install a Touchwiz based safe Jelly Bean kernel. So copy the Jelly Bean kernel to your phone. Boot into your recovery. Flash the Jelly Bean kernel and then flash this Rom. Or if you are using Odin just Odin the Jelly Bean kernel and install the Rom.

Thanks so much for doing this so quickly!
Deodexed is complete. Remember that I don't have the phone. So if you are brave enough to test these please make a complete backup first. But I see no reason why these wouldn't work. The only one's that concern me are the data wipe zips. I am going to try and get to my friends house tonight and will test them personally at that time. If you do install these please report back on your findings.
Can someone confirm that your internal data partition is still at /data/media? I know it was that way on the AT&T S3 which is what I made the data wipe script for. Just want to make sure the Sprint S3 is the same.
The Deodexed data wipe version is uploaded. The no data wipe version has an incorrect MD5 so I am going to have to upload it again

Not all devs who cook up a stock + root ROM feel this way.
goo.im is being problematic right now. I have the Deodexed no data wipe version up on dropbox right now. Links are in the OP.
Odexed data wipe is done now.
Man, and I was being so productive this morning until now..
Thanks!

OK thanks. I was sure the no data wipe versions would be fine. I am pretty sure about the data wipe versions also but haven't tried it on a Sprint S3 yet.
Anyone seen anything on a flashable modem?

Dropbox down (I only tried it because work blocks goo.im only for some reason ha)
AFH working for me now. Downloading. I'll have a nice toy for tonight
I've got a paid dev-host I could put it on but I can't even download it. AFH has been terrible lately

AFH is giving me this:
{"INFO":"failed posted hashcheck","SOLUTION":"please make sure you have javascript enabled for androidfilehost.com. Hit the back button, enable javascript and try again please. we promise we are probably not doing anything nefarious. maybe. no promises though."}

Everything is done uploading now. All but one are on goo.im. I am mirroring on androidfilehost as fast as it will upload. Dropbox appears to have already reached its limit Yeah they suck.
Edit: Both of the Deodexed versions are done on androidfilehost.com
Alright, I hit a bit of a snag. I rebooted the phone, and now it won't go past the "Android" boot up animation.
Well, the phone itself does. I can interact with everything that should be on the screen, but all it shows is the boot animation. Tried reflashing and got the same thing.
I'm nandroiding back for now.

Given all of the trouble I had getting them uploaded, please verify your MD5. Also did you install anything else after installing the Rom?
