Hello,
well I'm using this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619582
Now, I'm using the tablet mode, because I like it.
But I don't like the bar at the bottom. I think it's pretty cool to have only one tablet bar at the top on the GNex.
Some ideas?
Thx, Keynot
I don't know why it wouldn't be possible. I think at the top would be more awkward to use one handed.

you want both the nav bar and status bar to be on top instead of bottom?

Well, yep. Tablet mode + bar at the top
Maybe it's awkward, but I'd just like to try it out.

Pretty self explanatory but would it be possible to have the status bar at the bottom of the screen either under the nav bar or on top
Isn't a bad idea maybe someone can make a mod with this...
If you run in tablet mode its on the bottom. It takes a little getting used to though.

I tried that out and really tried to like it but its just not quite right I hope someone does make a mod for this too happen
If you run Cyanogenmod Nightly, you can use the 'Advanced Statusbar Mod'.
So you can move your Statusbar to the bottom of your screen.

I haven't tried it myself yet but this looks like it may do what you're looking for if you're on CM9.

Is this possible?
A few roms gives you the ability to change the color but is there a way to make the background completely transparent? Would look pretty dope.

Would be good but a problem may be, that if there is a button on the bottom of a certian page, lets say eg. the next page button. The nav buttons would overlap
And you wouldnt be able to press it. Thats my theory anyway, but what do i know lol

The nav bar background would still be there just invisible to the eye.
See-through, not completely gone. At least how I had it figured out in my head lol.

Then i dont see why it cant be done thinking about it, aokp has a transparent status bar mod i think, so nav bar should be possible.

I don't THINK it's possible without a lot of clever scripting. From what I can tell, the status bar/nav bar UI "displaces" the drawable screen area. So if the nav bar are present, it nothing is drawn behind them. If they're not present, stuff is drawn, where they go, but uh... they aren't present.
So it might be doable with some trickery, but as far as I know nobody's done it yet.
It's possible and been done many times. There's a thread about it in the themes section.

I remember one of the first ROMs i flashed on my nexus was Code Name Android, and it had the option to hide the navigation bar on the lock screen only.
is this something that can easily be implemented into JB? i noticed it was taken off of ROMs because it interfered with incoming calls when the screen was on (wasn't able to answer call) just curious if it was ever fixed or if this is a simple mod that i could do myself with some layout tweaks or something.
anyone have a clue?
I use Widgetlocker - lock screen replacement app, and it has an option to hide the navigation bar. I highly recommend it, very customizable with tons of sliders/themes to choose from and is very light on using system resources and draining battery.

you sure about that? i know it has the option to hide the navigation bar buttons, but the black bar is still there.
i want the wallpaper to go from the notification bar all the way down to the bottom of the screen.

Oh okay. If that's the case then you'll need to go a different route. Widgetlocker just blacks it out.

Its not quite as bad on the device as it blends into the bottom of the phone but still not using the complete screen.

can anyone mod the nav bar thinner, better with completely hide the nav bar:good:
Aokp ROM has this feature implemented into their ROM.
It seems like it has gotten bigger.

This is for 4.1.1.

Hopefully it shouldn't be too much different?
FNV also has it. I knocked mine all the way down to 0, and it's gone. I'm also using GMD gesture control instead for navigation purposes, getting the most out of my nexus 4's screen

I used to do this on the Galaxy Nexus but I used LMT launcher instead. How easy is it to use GMD? I only use it for launching my universal search app

flash the aokp rom. it lets you completely customize the nav bar. you can add buttons change buttons and edit things like height.
check it out here
What about the status bar on top. Is there a option or mod to hide it all the time til you swipe down or something. I know the hidebar app hides both the top bar and the bottom bar at all time. But you cannot swipe down or show only the status bar without showing the navbar. Anybody knows

Lots of options open up when you get the bought app. I built my gestures to make triangles and it works really well. They explain everything and make it pretty straightforward.

I use ADW Launcher EX and it allows you to do that in settings. I believe other 4.0+ launchers have it built in.

he is asking about the google search bar at all.
Im also interested in this, buttons are a tad too big, any suggestions?
I'm trying to figure out how to remove that tiny green shortcut bar on the bottom of the screen, it seems to be part of the status/navigation bar. I can only turn it off by disabling the status bar, but I don't want to do that, just the green buttons on the bottom, is there a way???
Find somewhere in cm settings/ interface, I don't remember how I disable it

Thats what I'm trying, but if I disable the navigation bar, it also turns off the top status bar that shows all the icons like wifi, battery, signal etc.
It seems to be connected.

thanks, I finally got rid of it, under tablet tweaks, not sure if it was the "bottom status bar" or the "Navigation bar on bottom" but I disabled both. Now I'm a happy camper.
How do you type nicely in an eeny weeny screen?
