I am sorry but I have a stupid question, I want to download rom Android Revolution HD, but not really kako.Ili I realize I can not download it or do not know what should I do to take my rom.Moze this kind of help? Thank if I explain it to anyone. Sorry about my bad English.
i dont understand.
do you need a download link for the rom, or do you need to know how to flash it in recovery.
are you already rooted?
First, your devise must be rooted. Just find the rom in the site. Then u can find dl link. Dont forget to dl GAPPS (if its available to dl)
Put zip file(s) on sd card. Then u shoud reboot ur phone to recovery, then choos to wipe data, wipe cash, advance/wipe dalvik, advance/wipe battery. Then instal the rom (zip file) from sd card. At last reboot ur phone.
Hope i could help.

Thanks for all the help but I did it and s-off, install recovery and root, and I know how it installs, now in its dhd I RCMix.Energized.7.26.2012.Fixed.Kernel_Ver2, and for that we should make rom Htc locations and 3D widgets if you can zip in, but to get back on the Android revolution. How install this rom you can not download it? That's the whole problem.

sorry,its ok.
I don't know the reason why they don't have the download mirrors up on the ROM's forum thread. Some posts on there said that they will be fixing them soon, but I have no idea when that could be. In the meantime, you can get an older version of the rom here:http://www.androidrevolution.nl/
This is a pretty old version though; it has Sense 3.0, older version OS, less hacks/fixes that the ROM is known for, etc. I would just wait for them to fix the thread unless anyone on here can point to a method of getting 6.4 or 7.1.

hi, i'm just new to the forum... greetings for the good stuff i found here
i've got a desire z unbranded (no carrier logos or similar) just permrooted with the help of xda wiki... now i'm stuck with some doubts
according to sw informations on my phone i got radio version 26.03.02.26_M, is it ok for installing a rome like virtuoso or is it better to update my radio?
if radio is ok i don't know what i have to do to install a rom (just have to put in the sd card and run rom manager??) and all my datas in the phone memory will be deleted installing a rom?
i have many files in my sd-card after rooting (superuser.apk etc...) can i delete the files pushed with adb or i will do something bad?
thanks in advice and sorry for my bad english
First welcome to the forums.
You don't need to flash a new radio, although if you find you're getting very poor reception you might want to consider it.
To flash a rom you need to download the rom.zip file, and put it on your sdcard.
You can then either use Rom Manager to flash the rom, or reboot into recovery and do it.
You should do a backup of your current rom first, in case anything goes wrong.
And wipe data/factory reset and cache when flashing different roms.
-Nipqer
Tnx for your help what app i can use for making backups? The one in rom manager is enough?

Yes Rom Manager is enough, or you can reboot into recovery and select backup from there.

Hey there,
i am new here. I have quietly no idea of ROMs etc.
I rooted my desire and installed ROM Manager and Clockwork Mod Recovery
and i made a backup of the system and all apps on my sd card.
I read that i have to partitione my sd card. But I don´t know what it is etc..
Now i want to install MIUI, when its possible the German version.
I heard from a friend that this ROM is nice and take not so much battery as the HTC Sense Rom..
Please can everybody help me and give me instructions what i have to do.
Thanks a lot , Jakob
Hmm mate , all these answers are easily available if u search
but anyways since am replying may as well answer ur queries
use gparted (search and download) and format ur sd card get an ext4 partition if u want more space for apps ( install d2ext ord2sd miui rom)
download the required zip file , place it on ur sd card
boot into recovery and navigate to the location of ur rom and flash it using install from sd option ( although do a factory reset of ur phone and wipe other stuff as cache and all)
all the above options wud be available in recovery
in case u have a doubt search here in the forum or PM me
Use the guide posted here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
Follow the instructions to partition your sd card using GParted. It's not that difficult (there's a video you can follow).
Read the instructions fully on how to flash the ROM of your choice and then follow.
I flashed MIUI XJ on my friends desire yesterday and have to say it looks like a nice ROM. I'm almost tempted to ditch my GingerVillain for it...
God luck.
Thank you !!
But I dont even know where i can find the ROM file to download..
and i have no idea which version i should take.
A friend of mine told me, that i should download ROM Manager with ClockworkMod Recovery and make a backup..
I did this. Can I install the ROM with this program on my desire (Android 2.2), too or must it be donewith an programm on the PC ?
i'm sure u can dl the rom from here
Go to miui thread here on xda and follow installation instructions written there.
TouchPaled from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
Go to miui-germany.de for the German version of MIUI.

look here
by flashing this ROM you get Android 2.3.5 here is link to download ROM
if you don't understand just put a question here or translate with Google
also do not try ROMs not made for you phone just because of possible hardware failure !!
be sure you have Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini E10i
shortly you have to copy ROM to sdcard then enter recovery mode make bakup then flash new ROM
-backup data just in case..
-save all your data from sdcard before !
-after step 6 copy .zip (ROM archive) to sdcard then do step 7
-wipe steps are important to be sure you make a clean install
-format sd-ext this will make a ext3 part on sdcard for data/apps
(it is just a copy/paste from the original thread)
GUIDE TO TRY NEW VERSION WITHOUT LOOSE MOST OF YOUR APPS AND YOUR SETTINGS:
1) enter in recovery
2) backup
3) wipe system
4) wipe cache
5) format sd-ext
6) wipe dalvik-cache
7) install andread 2.2.9 v8f
8) reboot your phone and start for the first time with andread 2.2.9 v8f
9) reboot in recovery
10) install optional fix if you want new contacts and new dialer
11) restore backup from recovery with advanced restore (you must manually restore choosing first data, then cache, then system, then sd-ext reboot your phone and you will have you're phone updated and with all your last settings and apps)

step 10- find on original thread Fix Contacts and Dialer download and copy on sdcard
you will flash this file by recovery to update dialer/contacts- step 10
It seems Andread 2.2.9 v9f is the last version because link to Andread 2.3.5 v1t is not valid..
It looks like a good rom giving overclocking/undervolt etc but I understand your frustration because is not very clear how to install
You should do this:
-save all your data (photos etc) on PC just in case..
-now you have to copy Andread 2.2.9 v9f.zip to sdcard
also copy the file from Fix Contacts and Dialer link to sdcard for step 10
-now enter your recovery and make steps 1-11
if you get error on step 7 tell me to know

yes this can be an answer to wifi problem but the easy way is to flash a new ROM
baseband is the Radio/Modem version it depends of phone model/carrier/Android version
the radio firmware controls low-level functions on the phone like GSM signal/wifi/GPS to upgrade radio firmware will fix connectivity problems, decrease power usage, etc incorrect radio firmware can disable some functions such MMS/3G/Wifi

It's about framework-res.apk you have to replace it but do not get this from a stock rom if you have a custom rom on phone
also if you have a custom rom (you have that rom on PC as archive) with that language support and this is the rom flashed then you can do this
if you just want to add a new language support to a rom this is not easy
Hi, guys and girls.
I know this question sounds stupid, and someone might say: "Duuuh, use the seach-function!" - Well, I have, but as a new member it's pretty hard finding the things that I need when there's so many sections and such.
Now for my question:
At Christmas I recieved a Samsung Galaxy Gio. The phone is cool, and I like it a lot. However, I do wanna use a custom ROM. Can anybody tell me (step by step, please) how to do so? I have read the "Big thread For New Users", but somehow I managed to get lost in all of the fine new words.
I have done it before on my HTC Touch Diamond, (but I dropped it and now it won't start again) but I really can't figure out how to do so this time - and it would be sad to ruin my new phone by doing stuff I don't know anything about.
So, could anybody please be nice and tell me how to install a custom ROM? And please keep in mind that I'm a huuuuge newbie
I'm using Android 2.3.6
Thanks in advice.
Dennis
P.S. Would I be able to "revert" everything back to how it is now? Is there a way to "unroot" (I know there is, just not how to), and can the default ROM from Samsung be found anywhere?
okay so first DON'T use Rom Manager because it bricks your gio.
if you want to flash a custom rom you need to flash clockwork recovery. after that download "ext4 formatter" and flash it with cwm recovery (install zip->choose zip). download a custom rom and flash it in the same way as "ext4 formatter". wipe data and restart your phone... (clockwork mod recovery, ext4 formatter and custom roms can be found in development section)
if you don't like all these custom roms you can install the stock rom by downloading a stock rom on sammmobile.com and flashing with odin.

You don't to be a delevoper if you want to flash your phone. It's really very easy if you read a few infos about this. One post above you have a list of things that you have to do but it's easy. You can do this in about 10 minutes. Very important is: you must know what you do. And do this ! Here you can view a lot of tutorials and links of roms, recorecys etc. :

Ok, so I guess this is what I'm gonna do:
1. Doing a hard reset of my phone (wipe).
2. Root my Gio using this guide.
3. Downloading and flashing a custom ROM (I'm very unsecure on this step, please give a detailed "guide").
4. After flashing (is flashing the same thing as installing?), I start up my Gio and I'm gonna do a hard reset.
Is this the way to do it?

1. Not needed to do before flashing but it doesn't hurt either
2. No need for ROOT if you plan flashing a custom rom. 100% of custom roms have root pre-installed.
3. Download the file, put it on your SD card (do not put it in any folder, just on your sdcard), go into recovery mode, chose install zip from sdcard, navigate to the file, chose it, chose Yes and wait for it to finish, do wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition from CWM and you're done!
4. Yes, start it up (it takes quite long time to boot it for the first time) and you may do the hard reset but i have never done it and my Gio is still working perfectly. And yes flashing and installing is basically the same thing.
P.S I know how you feel exactly atm. When i got my gio and learned about flashing custom roms and rooting, I was scared as well but now i have installed many roms and now it is like a normal thing for me. Have fun and DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER!
Don't forget to click thanks if it helped

The first two steps are right. after that you are downloading the clockwork mod recovery (also called cwm) and the ext4 formatter from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421650. now you are entering the stock recovery. turn off your phone and restart it but hold the power and home button at boot. now flash the cwm zip file (in the thread is all explained how to do). restart the phone and enter the cwm recovery by holding power and home button at boot. go to "install zip" -> "choose zip" and choose the ext4 formatter zip file. okay now wipe data. download a custom rom and install it in cwm like the other zip files. wipe again data. now restart your phone.
and tadaaa it should work
ps: if you are from Germany (i think so because of your name) you can write me a pn if you need help and i can explain it in German

Hi,
Thanks for both of the answers - However, there is something that I'm confused about now. Jyrx, you say that I don't need to root if it's a custom ROM, because custom ROMs already have done a root. But emyaz tells me that it should be done. Aren't most ROMs from xda custom? Fx. this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062676 (CyanogenMod 10.1 [BETA 2.5]) - is this a custom ROM? If it is, I don't need to ROOT, right?
emyaz, unfortunately no - I'm Danish, and I know very little German

Yes, like I said every custom rom has root. I think what emyaz thinks is that root is essential and if you don't install a custom rom you should root your phone. And your example has root and it doesn't need to be rooted.
EDIT: On XDA yes, there are basically only custom roms. If a rom isn't a custom rom or doesn't have a root then it is most certainly said in the topic.
You need to root your device before you start flashing roms. But is it nessesary to flash an ext4 formatter. I didn't do it. I do not have any problems. Where do you need it for?
Ardee - Sent from my Gio using xda premium app
Now I'm confused. One says that I don't need to flash, but others says that I need to.
I didn't root my phone before flashing roms. And I also haven't used ext4 formatter and it is working fine. So I don't know about that really.
---------- Post added at 12:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:27 AM ----------
Well I think for safety, root it. If you don't probably nothing will happen but I'm not sure, but if you do then nothing bad will happen either.
Half of the people answering give the wrong answers.
- root
- install custom recovery
- backup
Flash ext4formatter (cleans all partitions and mounts as ext4, no wipes needed, only use this first time installing a rom or after using ODIN to restore to stock)
- install rom
-reboot

well, rooting is allways a first step.
i did it that way: (short form only, if u want additional info's, just ask)
1. root
2. put a new rom + gapps on ur sd card
3. flash a prerootet kernel with preinstalled recovery which fits to ur rom
4. flash rom + gapps
5. reboot
6. connect phone to pc
7. backup ur sd card
8. delete ur entire sd card (thats why u have to make the backup)
9. reboot into recovery
10. wipe all
11. search for 'partition sd card'
12. choose ur values that u want
13. reboot into system
14. connect to pc
15. put all files back on sd card
16. download the mod and put in on sd too
17. reboot into recovery
18. flash the mod
19. wipe all
20. reboot
21. YOU'RE DONE!!

You need newest CM10 zip file from here http://get.cm/?device=anzu&type=nightly and a modules.zip for your kernel.
copy these two files to your sdcard
boot into cwm
wipe data format system and cache
choose install zip from sdcard option and flash CM10 zip then modules zip
reboot

Modules.zip is inside of fusion kernel rar file : D No there is no risk in flashing wifi modules because these are just a files required for a custom kernel to work properly. I mean like a drivers in windows so the wifi can work.
Just remember to format system, data, cache partitions in CWM before flashing anything. And I forgot about this http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip these are the newest google apps for JB without this Play store, google maps etc wont work.
