how to turn off "voice command" for the alarm? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

hey guys, since the jelly bean update, Tmo has removed the "voice command" option in settings so I have no idea how to turn this off in the Alarm app. (like when you say "stop", the alarm goes off) I need to turn this off since every morning I don't realize I shout "stop" in my sleep , thus I don't even hear the alarm sound at all.

The only way for me was to do a factory reset. Factory reset also fixed my battery life on jb (still not as good as ics)

The voice command is now located in the S Voice app under the s voice settings.

Same here. I never used Svoice even once.
I had to accept their stupid terms just to turn off the oh so annoying feature where the phone will auto answer calls I don't want answered due to background noise...not even words let alone the word answer.
I'll miss the voice commands for the camera app though.
Why can't they be chosen separately??

Voicemail Issues? (Incubus)

Has anybody here come across any voicemail issues while using their Incfredible? Whenever I use the stock sense 2.0 ROM and I have a new voicemail, I call my voicemail, try to type in my password, however it doesn't seem to acknowledge that I am even doing anything. I'll type in my password, press pound, and it'll ask me to enter my password. I tried resetting the password, still no issues. I can't clear the notification so its there forever pretty much. I have like 8 new voicemails right now. I know these ROMs are popular, I am curious as to how nobody else has come across this problem, as I couldn't find a thread anywhere.
Thank you for your time.
Set audible tones to short or long in call settings menu (I think, I don't use sense roms..)

Theres a multicolor widget on TW4 that has 3 buttons on one of the screens. They relate to Text to speach while driving, sounds like one of them is on. Hope this helps
It's the driving mode, should be the car icon. Make sure it's off.

If you open Voice Talk, you can uncheck Driving Mode, that will turn off the voice for new notifications.
Lol this happened to me to when I first got this phone.

Even if car mode is off, and "driving mode" is still on in Voice Talk, you will still hear the Siri-esque voice. You have to disable "Driving Mode" from within "Voice Talk" to get her to shut up.
BTW, you can change what she greets you with when you say "Hi Galaxy" in the program settings. Mine says, "What the hell do you want now, John"
It's the rom that your using. The voice is Linda I think.

That's one thing I thought it sounded like. I stripped some of the Linda sounds from my Vibrant and brought them over to my GS2. I missed them.
I can't stand that voice and all of the texts and plug in sounds. Talk about wanting attention... Lol

Vibrate when call connects

Is there a way to get the phone to vibrate when dialed number connects.
Right now it plays a tune, so it knows its connected, however can that be tied to vibrate as well?
My old phone did this, and its great to not have to hold the phone to your ear if the connection takes a long time to get through.
if you flash the cm7 Rom it has that option. i dont think any of the others do though.
I use Go Contacts, which comes with Go Dialer , and it has that option ...
Stock dialer does this, settings, call, call alert, answer vibration

If you have root then search "vibralert" in the market.

Double tap the home button to open s-voice, then go to settings of s-voice. Then go to control apps. I believe that is what your looking for.

You have to have vibrate turned off too, which makes it a no go for me.

Thanks I found it.
Very annoying that text pops up telling you that you can use voice commands within camera, alarm, when a call comes through etc.

I brought this up a while back when the s3 came out.. There has to be a way to modify it to work also when on vibrate.
I keep my phone on vibrate around 80% of the time so I can never use them either.
But I have found out that the voice commands still work on camera even with vibrate on, which leads me to believe it can be enabled on the other commands some how ... I don't know how to program and all that but I would be willing to help in anyway to get it working on vibrate mode

[Q] Any app working with GN2 which reads sms out loud when headphones are connected?

I have tried a few apps on the market which claim to read your texts out loud, but none of them have worked for me. Does anyone have an app where this works?
Have you tried turning on driving mode?
Settings>language and input>txt to speech output>driving mode
I think that will do as you want.
In the newer firmwares there is a toggle for switching it on/off on the notification drop down.

That doesn't seem to work for me. I had the headphones connected and then both texted and then called myself. Nothing is heard through the headphones.

Finally figured this out. I was using GO SMS, and there is a setting in that app which disables all other notifications. This options sounds fairly innocuous, but it means no other application can intercept the sms.
btw the sms app I am using is called Readittome, created by an xda user.
Go to Playstore, try: Headphone SMS. Automatically enables when headphones are plugged in. Works fine for me, very simple.

Thanks a million. That's exactly what I've just done.
Or you could use tasker. Set up a profile for when the headphones are plugged in and you receive a text to read it out for you. Does many more things also. Worth the money.
