With the help of con247's script i can make a splash screen for the galaxy s3 it works for all models, it replaces the samsung logo which comes before the boot animation
post pictures here and i will give you a flashable zip of the splash. i will add some of my own ideas too soon
Till then peace!!
Forever dope zip 12/6
Bears 12/6
Any chance of sharing the script? nice work btw
I have talked with con247 about this awhile ago and you should tell everyone that this will not work with the international galaxy sIII the configuration of your AT&T sIII is completely different to our international sIII. Our splash image can only be changed when compiling the kernel i will request a mod to remove this as there is no chance it will work
im what Willis was talking about

And please stop fishing for thanks all devices are configured differently so it most likely wont work for all sIII devices as con247 made the script for the AT&T sIII not the variants there is also no need to go round posting it in every sIII forum you can find just post it in android general themes and apps at least then your not creating clutter

Awesome great work, I cant believe Bu bby was prioritized over him in donating and bounty.
I wonder if hes working solo or is part of a team. It could be useful to have more people to offset the driver
work that it looks would need to be done.
Seriously i have seen bubbys name mentioned twice already. Lets give that name a rest. There is no comparison nor should their be. I know peoples intentions are good and are making a point. No point reliving that name. Nor the lack of any "real" work he "produced". Please no reply to his is necessary. Lets move on and back on point in 3.2.1.....

There was a point being made because at that time xboarders name was actually thrown out as someone to get a bounty going for at the same time as bubby and somehow despite xboarders track record and bubby's lack of a track record xboarder ended up in the backburner for a bounty thread.
It isnt bad to have the occasional reminder to prevent history being repeated.

Hi,
I'm currently running the Paradox ROM on the SGH-T989. Now, with ICS around the corner , I'd like to know how I can revert to the official ROM.
I've already taken a backup of the original stock ROM using the Clockwork Recovery mod. I'd appreciate it if someone could post an idiot's guide on upgrading to ICS from a custom ROM.
Thanks!

Most likly mistaking with the true GS2 International model
An engadget article. It's being rolled out for the normal SGS-II in Europe. I can't post the links until I'm 8 posts old , so here's the quoted text from the article.
After that March 10th mishap, Samsung reaffirmed to us that it'd deliver Android 4.0 for its GT-I9100 Galaxy S II when it was darn good and ready -- well folks, the company appears ready. It's just announced both via Facebook and Twitter that the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade that so many have lusted after is now available and will begin its rollout to users in Poland, Hungary, Sweden and Korea today, and will move onto other markets from there -- subject to carrier requirements, of course. Better yet, Samsung has affirmed that its Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 will follow shortly. So, if you're one of the lucky ones to receive the upgrade, let us know how it fares for you in the comments below. Otherwise, feel free to keep clicking that update button.

I'm not familiar with how long the update would take to reach Carriers though. Anyway , I'm looking for a solution on how to upgrade when the update would come.
EDIT : Oops , someone beat me to it. I was referring to the international SGS-II. I'm not sure how long it would take to reach T-mobile.
I'm sick of the same thing being covered 20 times every day.
The international Galaxy S2 has NOTHING to do with our phone. Yes the name is the same but the insides of the phone are all different. They might as well have called our phone something completely different as to not confuse people.
Nothing from the I9100 will be usable for us. Nothing. Hence, I reiterate my previous statement: We are not seeing ICS for some months to come. Sad I know.
Here's your idiot proof guide.

The real frustration with this site is that people come here looking for more information and get greeted with condescending dickishness. Those guys posting about how awful it is to have to read threads asking about the update knew fully well what this thread was when they chose to come here.
I don't see how people can be so unaware of common sense that they would be surprised that a phone called the Samsung Galaxy S II getting the ICS update might confuse people who own a phone called the Samsung Galaxy S II into thinking they are getting an update to ICS.

By looking at the history, you can tell how long it usually takes for Samsung to deliver an update for carrier phones. As far as I can remember, for the T-Mo Galaxy S, it took them about 5 months to update to 2.2 AFTER the International Galaxy S received 2.2. This was about a month after google rolled out 2.3 via Nexus S.
The reason for the delay is because every carrier wants Samsung (and other manufacturers) to ensure that their bloatware works fine on their updated versions. And no matter how good Samsung's Hardware is, their software division is freaking slow!
So good luck waiting for 4.0. My guess is that it will be out by May/June/July/August.
Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec
Ok , thanks. But the real point of this thread was on HOW to UPDATE to ICS when it would finally come. It seems like everyone missed the point here. I don't really care when the update would come, that was never stated in the thread title nor did I ask for a date in my opening post.
I was fully aware that the "When is ICS going to arrive for T-mobile??!!" has been asked a hundred times, which is why I only asked HOW to update.

Well if ICS does come for our device in about 6 months.. you can always ODIN back to stock (check allgamers stickies) and wait for an OTA update, but you might have to wait for someone to exploit root access for 4.0... sooo i would wait until a dev creates a rooted stock ROM of 4.0.

Eh , the saddest part about it is how most failed to READ the thread. It was clearly stated that help was needed on HOW to update. The question "When will the update arrive?" was never stated in the opening post.
To answer the op, there's 2 ways to do it. first is to flash back to unrooted stock and wait for the push from tmo. Instructions are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22881355
Second way is to wait for a deodexed or rooted version from a dev and just flash like a normal ROM.

even as a HOW question not the best question since nobody even knows the WHEN part
I just posted the following on the Sprint and Verizon sections because not all of us go exploring the other SG3 sections since they split us all up so i just wanted to spread something I found and hopefully will be useful to some of you.
First off let me begin by saying hey this is my first group of threads! I'm not a developer by any means but I am a big enthusiast when it comes to customization of our phones. So here's something new I learned that noone has seemed to release yet so I thought "what's the worst that can happen?" Unfortunately we can use his WICKED [V2] rom as it is only for the T-Mobile version but I can confirm that his flashable red and blue themes in his post are 100% working.
Instructions
Place on root of sd card
Reboot recovery
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik cache
Flash
Reboot
ENJOY.
MOD EDIT: links removed an thread will be closed. Next time ask permission before posting someone else's work
I am no way the owner this completely belongs to evil1art. The theme is for the average person with the subtle want for red or blue on their status bar and toggles. Please thank him. I am a noob when it comes to posts but I have been loving XDA and rooting all my androids since froyo. If you like it thank him.
those themes are for that sprint and verizon rom. have you tested them with our device? do you know why sprint SGS3 has a different section than us?
From what i understand the radios and certain software to use the various networks are what make them significantly different. Also Verizon locks their bootloader but there is away around that now. It is confirmed to work on the international version sprint verizon and t-mobile unfortunately i do not have an AT&T SG3 to test it on.
If I am wrong please let me know I'm here to learn as well as help some people out.
Also that theme came from a t-mobile rom that they do not support sprint or verizon

I never meant in infringe on your reputation sir or your respect if you would like I will remove all the posts. I have tested this theme on all variations on the SG3 I do apologize. I never meant to have your work passed off as someone else. I meant absolutely no disrespect and I humbly ask for your forgiveness, You are right I should of asked you I was excited that it worked for all these phones I just wanted to get the word out. Sorry for the miss understanding, I am new on here and am trying to abide by the rules if I was in the wrong I will immediately remove them. I have the utmost respect for what you do.

But please do not port the ROM in its entirety. I would be very unhappy.
But yes, if you want to work on a patch I can even feature it on my site and you could post it there and I could link it.
Or maybe we can add it to the Aroma script.
Let me know how it turns out or if you need any help.

Hello AT&T SG3 User(s),
I have created Samsung One 3 a PORT of HTC One to Samsung galaxy s3,
I had a report of a XDA Member that it worked on his att sg3, so i need an att beta tester to test this for me,
because if this is true than porting it to the SG3 International might be easier ( Hopefully ), and ofcource will i make some fixes for the att sg3 if this works
Original Topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2284615
Download Link to Dev Test v1.5.1: removed
Reason why it will work faster on SG3 att than international is because of the chips
Samsung Galaxy s3 International: 1.40GHz Exynos 4412 (ARM Cortex A9 + Mali 400MP)
Samsung Galaxy s3 AT&T: 1.50GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4
HTC One: 1.70GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600
Pleas tell me if it works or not

Second, you had better change the mount points in your updater-script before you brick someone's device.

Listen,
I understand you want to be innovative and bring new things here but this should be done internally. You should NOT release something like this on an open forum where most people don't read and follow directions. Also, releasing something you won't flash or can't flash yourself is just bad practice. While this isn't your fault, being a dev you should know this. This is brick after brick waiting to happen. I'm not being a hater as I appreciate what you are trying to do but this is just a bad idea.

One person is not a large enough group of people. I'm happy to see people trying new things. In fact, if you get it to the point where it boots on your device and you port it here PM me, I'll test it for you.
