What method did you follow? That thread is so confusing to me due to all the different variants!

I flashed the included zip in recovery. Then I followed the 11 steps listed in the OP.

How did you change the build.prop?

You don't have to manually do the mod. Just flash the zip and enjoy

Not that it's too much trouble to switch temporarily, but this can only be flashed in CWM, no TWRP, right?

I wasn't able to flash in TWRP. I switched to CWM and then flashed the zip. I got the 5 minute thing so I changed the build.prop to say SCH-I605, deleted the wallet apk from system folder and rebooted. When I did, I got a message about activation! I switched to my backup build.prop and rebooted to safety. Where am I going wrong here?

It flashed in twrp for me fine, but fc's on the setup. I am waiting for some sprint sucess stories before I edit build properties etc. Though.

What did you set the ro.product.model to in build.prop?
I set it to Nexus S and continued on with the steps. After installing the Google Play version of Wallet and starting the app, I got an error saying my device or network is not supported.
Thanks,

Mine works perfectly. My Spen works just fine too.
Here are the build props: that you'll need to change
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro
After changing the build props, reboot.
1 Use Root explorer or Es file explorer
Go to system/app/delete com.google.wallet
2 Open Market and download the legit Google wallet
Complete any task asked (It should work)
6) Once you are prompted with a list of accounts to re-setup Wallet close the app
7) Delete the Wallet apk from data/app (DO NOT uninstall Wallet, JUST delete the apk) and put the modaco patched r87 into system/app and set permissions (notice the legit was in data but the new one goes in system)
8) Reboot device
9) Run Wallet and this time it should let you set everything up, even though you are now using r87 which previously crashed
10) Once Wallet is working and your cards are registered reboot and make sure it still works
11) If Wallet is now r87 and it still works after the reboot put your build.prop back the way you found it and enjoy!
I did restore my build prop and everything is working took me 2 hours to figure out though...
Thanks to WarlockLord and tpmwr and the OP for the finding.

This is exactly how I got it working on my Note 2 as well. To all having issues with this, be sure you're setting the permissions of the build.prop and modified Google Wallet app in the /system/app/ folder. You will not need to set your permissions for the build.prop if you're using an app to edit it, you will only need to set the permissions if you adb pull it to your computer then edit then adb push back.

Thanks for this ... I was able to get Google Wallet working.
Just for clarification, in step 1, you delete the Google Wallet apk from sys/app, not data/app. And for those wondering what the permissions should be on the copied Wallet apk or build.prop, use: rw- r-- r--
Thanks again. I'll test it out at the store next time I'm there.

Anyway you guys could please make a youtube video. I really want to do this but need help. A video would be so helpful to all

i would try it without a reboot at all to see if it does work for you. i did not reboot after installing.
I just installed and no reboot no move and it appears to work fine. I would love if eventually the microphone on the screen in cm9 in the search bar could be modified to run svoice instead of googles voice search

Folks, just download the file from here and extract the files from the rar. Push the voicetalk.apk to /system/apps and change the permissions, (or use root explorer) then open the APK file in winrar or winzip, go to the lib folder, then the armeabi folder and extract the libvoxtts.so from that folder. Put the libvoxtts.so file in /system/lib and change the permissions appropriately. Reboot and it will show in the app drawer under S Voice.
No problems on reboot at all. In fact... here are the S voice APK and the lib file already extracted for you, just open in winrar and put the apk in /system/apps/ and the .so file in /system/lib/, change the permissions on both files to rw-r--r-- and then reboot and you will be good to go.

[Solved] stock Jellybean calendar widget on custom ROM not showing vibrant color

Hello. I'm currently running a cm10 kang ROM but every gaaps package I've flashed has the old ICS calendar widget with the washed out colors. I was wondering if anyone knew of a gaaps package that had the vibrant JB widget or just a .apk I can install.
EDIT Ok, I got it working. I took the .apk from a stock Jellybean ROM and copied into system.
So,
1. download the .apk here. https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4b...DZEUmgydHRPUTQ
2. Use root explorer or something that's able to access /system and navigate to system/app and go to CalendarGoogle.apk and move it to your desktop or your SD card. (personally I deleted it since if something went wrong I could just reflash the gaaps package to fix it.)
3. Using root explorer copy the .apk I posted to /system/app and make sure you change permissions. (I personally have them all set to read, write, and execute)
3.5 If you try to click on the app no that it's copied it will not install, just wanted to let you know that this seems normal.
4. Reboot
5. Once your phone has booted back up try adding the widget and it SHOULD be the more vivid colored widget!

[Q] Any way to get the US Note II Google Wallet mod working on the N7100/N7105?

So, now all of the US Galaxy Note II variants have a mod to enable fully working Google Wallet. What about us? Can we get Google Wallet working on the GT-N7100/GT-N7105? Our devices are so very similar to the US variants that if you changed the battery cover and the build.prop, you couldn't tell the two apart (Except for the VZW variant... Can anybody say FUGLY!). Anyway, we need to get on this. If someone with a working knowledge of Google Wallet is willing to take up the cause, I will help in any way I can. So come one people!! Let's get this working!!!

Are u able to add credit card that is registered outside of us?
Handwritten from my Note 2
These are the steps that worked for me following steps from the Verizon Note II thread.
How to Install Google Wallet on Samsung Galaxy Note II
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031127&page=5
See post #237
================================================
I guess the 3rd times a charm, as I was finally able to get Wallet to successfully install and set-up on the Verizon Note 2 (yet I've haven't tested any purchases yet).
Here's what I did:
A) Downloaded the NoteII-lib_nfc-fix-r87.zip from the first post, unziped it, and placed it in the /sdcard.
B) Made backups of these files using Root Explorer (copy & paste them to your sdcard or extsdcard):
Nfc.apk, Nfc.odex NfcTest.apk and NfcTest.odex files from /system/app
libnfc.so, libnfc_jni.so, libnfc_ndef.so from /system/lib
nfc.smdk4x12.so from /system/lib/hw
nfcee_access.xml from /system/etc
C) After those 9 files are backed up, use root explorer to delete them.
Use as reference for step D:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...8&postcount=76
D) Then copy the NEW files from the NoteII-lib_nfc-fix-r87 folder on the sdcard to the appropriate folders /system/app, /system/lib, /system/lib/hw, /system/etc.
Be sure to long-press on each file after they are copied and change their Permission to Owner Read Write, Group Read, Others Read.
E) Use Root Explorer to backup (copy/paste) your build.prop file from /system
F) Then edit the build.prop in /system to have the lines below (and then save it):
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro
Make sure the build.prop has the Permission set to Owner Read Write, Group Read, Others Read or the phone will boot-loop.
G) Restart phone.
Now run the Wallet app. If it says "This may take 5 minutes" and then force-closes (this happened to me), do the steps from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=160
After I removed the Wallet app, restarted phone, downloaded the Wallet from the app store, set it up, then removed the wallet app and coped the R87 Wallet back.
Once you have Wallet installed and fully functional, go back to the /system build.prop file and edit the three lines back to their original values:
ro.product.model=SCH-I650
ro.product.name=t0ltevzw
ro.product.device=t0ltevzw
======================================================
Next see post #160
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35092232&postcount=160
To anyone getting the app crashing at "This may take 5 minutes" here is how I fixed it:
1) Delete the Walltet apk from system/app
2) Edit your build.prob to be a Galaxy Nexus
3) Reboot
4) Grab legit Wallet from the app store
5) Set up the legit Wallet (it will work) then register a card. After it successfully registers the card wait a minute and it will say it has to reset the app. This will take forever, wait for it to finish.
11) If Wallet is now r87 and it still works after the reboot put your build.prop back the way you found it and enjoy!
easiest way is to follow this direction posted by paul over on modaco, all you have to do is install and go (no need to do anything else)

Oh if you didn't know you can pinch to zoom to do this awesome zoom effect. Try it out!! You have to flash through twrp or cwm. It will install the xperia launcher as well so if you want that aligned perfectly you have to edit your build prop. How to do that?
Easy!!
1st download es file explorer (its free)
2nd when you open es file explorer hit the menu key and tap settings
3rd scroll all the way down and click root settings and check all the boxes.
Now that you've done that, hit back until you get to a sign that pops up and says "press again to exit" then don't exit obviously.. You've just got full access to your files!! Meaning be careful which system files you touch! You only need to modify one. Trust me. It sounds hard but is a lot less complicated. Simply navigate to system/ then go all the way down to build.prop. simply tap on it and click es note editor. Then locate " ro.sf.lcd_density=320" then simply change the 320 to 340 and save. It will automatically create a back up build prop for you. Here's where you really need to watch out. Make sure after your done editing and saving your build.prop you TAP AND HOLD build.prop and scroll all the way down to properties and tap it. Then tap change and check all the boxes on the left and below write tap the top middle box. If your confused I posted a pic below... What your are doing here is setting permission to the file you just modified. Then now that you just set permission your good to reboot!!! After you reboot you just flash jb gapps and clear cache and dalvik cache. And your launcher is perfectly set. If you did not fix permissions the way the pic looks you won't boot up at all you'll only be able to fastboot. That's why I say its important to follow step by step. Also the reason I say flash gapps is because if you don't you won't be able to install certain apps in the play store (it'll say device not compatible). No more misaligned launcher!! If your don't like the launcher simply use titanium backup to remove it or search through file explorer. Bye all!!

[NEXUS⁴] [CARBON1.6] [MATR1X8] [TWRP]
If I remember from the Nexus 7 forums correctly, changing your build prop will cause future Android update to fail during installation. This looks awesome though.
It may cause problems with installation with modified changes
But that would just require you to go back to stock with our recovery tool. I never update my ROM straight through a custom rom. Or simply use your "back up build.prop" that I mentioned es explorer does automatically for you and rename that back up back to build.prop then delete modified build.prop. Of course always make sure you set your permissions even on the back up !

[Q] Note 2 Gallery/Lockscreen wallpaper help

Had the bright idea to delete the stock gallery app while clearing bloatware. Unbeknownst to me, that was needed to set the lock screen wallpaper to anything other than the stock wallpapers. I use quickpic instead. Now I can't set a picture as the lock screen background (I can change wallpaper).
I've tried reinstalling the gallery, but when choosing to set the paper from the home screen, the gallery option does not show up. Is there a way to again associate the gallery, or an alternative app to do so?

I'm no expert, but have you restored gallery back to /system/app or did you just click on .apk and chose to install it? Because if you installed it, it went to /data/app - maybe that's the reason it does not function as it supposed to?
And second, try to run it as an app - see if it starts in first place, maybe there's something else missing. Perhaps you deleted odex file as well, and because of this it does not start?
Just did a little experiment - restored apk and odex files back to /system/app - and option to change wallpaper appeared again. No reboot needed.
Move gallery apk to system/app and set the permissions to rw-r-r aand reboot.

I believe you both are right, as I just installed like normal. Noob issue though, when I go to copy and paste the apk into system/app, I get a permission denied message. I'm rooted of course and granted es file explorer su privileges, so I'm not sure why. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help

I believe you both are right, as I just installed like normal. Noob issue though, when I go to copy and paste the apk into system/app, I get a permission denied message. I'm rooted of course and granted es file explorer su privileges, so I'm not sure why. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help

You need to remount /system as read-write, just like you did before removing apps (if you removed them manually). Go to your terminal emulator or use ./adb shell get superuser (by typing "su") and type: mount -o rw,remount /system
After that you can move files to*/system. Just don't forget to reboot or remount /system as read-only when done.
Root explorer allows pasting and permissions changing. I'm not sure I'm using the right apk. I had a nexus one that installed and worked (though not able to change lock screen). I uninstalled it, and installed 2 different versions of the Samsung app. It never gets recognized on the reboot like the nexus one did. I assume I'm using the wrong one. Any link to an official one? I am on 4.1.2 stock.
Thanks again

I'm using 4.1.2 stock, so here are files from my /system/app:

Good luck, and let me know if this helps.
P.S. Next time you clean you ROM, just move files to some location (for example your PC) Comes in handy later, I know that from my own painful experience

Any specific way to install it all back? I put everything back in system/app and rebooted. Nothing changed, it's not installed, and Android didn't "Update Apps" on the reboot. I try to install it with package installer like any other app and that fails. I've tried your odex and mine (which was never deleted).
That's great advice!
