I updated through the Cm10 and it says I'm on 4.1.2 ... I don't see much of a change though...

Apparently the official update has a lot of different changes which is why I want to update to that

Shouldn't we be expecting a long wait on this? The news specifically said that Samsung only released it Poland for now

Apparently rogers should be getting this extre.Ely soon according the the reports 4.1 is seeding but yeah

I don't believe T-mo released JB 4.1.2, just 4.1.1, I think the international S3 got the 4.1.2 update that included multiview but that's not compatible with our phones.

Ok thanks, I that would explain a lot.. The video I saw was on YouTube but they didn't mention it was a international gs3... That multi view was nice and exactly why I wanted the update.. Thanks for chiming in.. Guess it's a waiting game..
It should stay rooted

I've been running Liquid Smooth 4.1.2 (RC7) for a while now and it's been stable.
I didn't notice anything about Multi-View though, and I miss some of the Touch Wiz features like Face Unlock and the thing where it keeps your screen on as long as you're looking at the phone, oh, and the Palm Swipe to do a screenshot.
Ive been using frosty jb 4.1.1 and its pretty stable.. also the dev rom is good. Check out this page hhas video reviews.
And no not with the multiview. But its in the works.

Samsung's done this with previous phones. Such as devices going from GB 2.3.6 ---> 4.0.3, etc. They skipped 2.3.7 for many devices, and even some went to ICS from 2.3.4. It's entirely possible that Samsung will find that it's the better route to just jump to 4.2 than to update 4.1. One of my favorite quotes is "Don't fix what's not broken."

2.3.7 only came out for the nexus s 4g. The gsm nexus s never got 2.3.7. That update only brought google wallet from what i remember. But samsung did skip 4.0.3 on the epic touch and went straight to 4.0.4 even though 4.0.3 leak had less bugs and was 2 months older

Most likely you'll find a mod and not an entire rom with that feature, as of this moment all the multi window mods are only for touchwiz roms, just make sure that it will work on ur device.

4.1.2 Update

After waiting for over a month, I finally got a notification for update, but the new firmware version is still LL7(DBT) instead of MA6 or whatever it is. Thought the company rolled over the phones for a new update(MA6 or 4.2) but I only got a version that is supposed to be available in early Jan.. Can I expect a new update soon? By the way, what is the difference between install and install all in OTA update?

Yeah actually you will receive a new update. Me as well I updated my note 2 today with the official ota update. But I guess your update was only around 185mb big? Because mine was. So if you check with last official updates that are on 4.1.2 there around 800mb something if I am not mistaken.

@op ma6 isn't 4.1.2
There isn't much difference between dll7 anf ma6 .
Update to dll7 asap because of sds.
800mb is wasn't ever the size of ota.
You may be talking bout full stock rom which is a gig.

I've been on LL7 for a while, and since yesterday the option for OTA has been disabled for me! I mean, I click it and it says it's being distributed to those in the order that it's been clicked... SINCE YESTERDAY! I plug it into KIES which ALWAYS bypasses that wait, and it says I have the latest ROM. So I don't know. Nothing more to do than to just wait!
Still nothing in the UK for an unbranded device. This is taking the pee now...

T-Mobile update?

This morning I had a notification that an update was available for my T-Mobile SGN2. Of course when I accepted the terms, I received a pop up that my phone had been modified and the update was not applied.
Any ideas what this update consists of? Its the first update notification Ive received since purchasing the SGN2.
What version are you on presently? The current version is uvall4. Any other version might prompt the ota notification.

Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
I realize that is not a T-Mobile ROM, that is why I was surprised when I received an update notification. I would be very pleased to have a T-Mobile update, as I prefer the look and feel of the stock ROMS anyway.
But if I were still running the original T-Mobile ROM, then I would have received an update... I am curious to see what others have received this message and/or update.
I'm still at UVALK8 as well. When I click "Check Updates", it says, "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available"
My phone is rooted with stock ROM. Does this mean TMO detects the root and wont give me the update?
If yes, will I get the update if I unroot? Then just root again?
When are we going to get 4.1.2 or higher? I assume we will never get 4.2 as the gs4 will be shipping with it.

FYI: Software Update Starting May 7th

Beginning May 7, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 will have a software update to Android version 4.2.2/Baseband version M919UVUAMDL via OTA and Samsung Kies. This update improves the Visual Voicemail app and includes ISIS app improvements.

Got my update at 6:00 am EST this morning.
I kinda like this Samsung ROM. Not sure I want to ditch it to root and try other ROMs that are probably more buggy at this stage, unless I can guarantee full recovery to stock and hopefully not take up too much space storing ROMs (9GB user space is getting used up fast!).
I was hoping for an update that would improve other things, such as batter life, for one.
I see that Samsung released an update recently on international versions (build number ending in MDM) that may have improved other things besides what is reported to be improved in this build pushed from T-Mobile. Can someone shed some light on this? How do we know if T-Mobile has pushed fixes that include the latest Samsung updates? In my 'About Device' in settings, I see Android version 4.2.2, Kerrnel version 3.4.0-453951, and Build number JDQ39.M919UVUAMDL, which I believe is this update.

The system partition's size does not change no matter what you flash. You can return to stock, see guide.
Is the kernel locked on this one?
Locked kernel = can't install recovery via goo or ROM manager.. And must use ODIN. O;

Yeah that's what is disclosed, but maybe they made some framework charges that are subtle that not everyone notices. I'm not installing until it's confirmed to not have a locked kernel. 16mb could include what they said with some small changes that aren't disclosed.
