I asked this in another post about something else, but this is a new question.
Can you use a nandroid from one GS3 to another GS3?
TIA

I can confirm it works. I had to have my Sprint SG3 replaced, did a nandroid of the old phone, when the new one arrived, used the nandroid on the replacement and everything worked just fine.

You just have to go into the folder and change the device number from the old one, to the new one. Otherwise it won't be seen.

My nexus reads as a unknown imei. I have no data or voice. Tried flashing stock through odin. Is there anyway to restore the imei like with the s3.

Don't know what odin is so sorry if that fact makes this a silly reply. Have you tried the stock images directly from Google? They are a full reset of the entire phone.

Flash stock images, make sure bootloader is locked. Take it to Verizon. When they ask what happen, play clueless customer and keep asking if you will loss your angry birds high scores.

People are saying this may be a pba problem.
Only PBA I know of is a bluetooth profile. What are you referring to?
I have the GSM Nexus so proceed with caution, but I'm wondering if they use the same types of files and folders. This is what I did to fix it when I accidentally wiped my IMEI:
cmstlist said:
Okay that was quick - solved it!
I believe the problem was that I'd restored the entire /data partition of my prior unit's backup including the /data/radio folder. Not a good idea! The solution was to copy the nv_data.bin and .md5 files from /factory and paste them to replace the incorrect ones in /data/radio. Now my IMEI is back!
Time to backup those files somewhere safe...

Don't try anything without backing up what you already have.
Just flash it to stock and play stupid. Then they will "factory data reset" it, because that fixes everything. Ha ha. No really, they'll give you a replacement.

if you can make a nandroid,
first off you need to download wugfresh's Gnex toolkit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475
second you need to install all the drivers if you haven't already.
then you need to choose your model type
after you will need to click on back to stock what it does is it resets everything, assuming your phone ant boot up choose not booting
once that is done you can choose the factory image which can be downloaded from Googles factory images or you can use the options provided
after that you follow all the steps provided in the tool kit. the tool kit is mostly automatic so it wont take allot of time.
once that is done you are back in stock and have lost everything but don't fret because you can root it again using the same tool kit.
quick point your phone still has an unlocked boot loader so don't worry about that.
once youve completed the above steps you should be back to your good old galaxy nexus home screen
Verizon won't warranty it because the sticker under the battery has turned colors. No water damage I just touched one day when I took out the battery my hands were slightly wet prob not smart lol. I know this wasn't the cause it has been 5 months the only thing damaged was the sticker and warranty. Yes I have the right ROMs installed I'm not a newb. This is like the same issue with the s3 I tried to use the qpst method but I can't even get the hidden menu to show on the phone clueless as to why. I just want to use my gnex as a beater phone when I'm out.

Sounds promising going to try. I took apart the phone to check internals all looks good, except for the fact I broke antenna pinched with case. Ordered a new one incase this works.

So long story short, I think I bricked my girlfriend's Verizon Nexus when she asked me to flash JB onto it. It was working fine for a couple days and then all of a sudden, it won't turn on or even charge. Nothing works, it's just a black screen.
I was wondering if it's possible to flash something on my ATT S3 so that it can be used with her Verizon account and number. Essentially I just don't want to have to make her buy a new phone if I can give her my S3.
No, you can't. Fix her phone.

I'm working on it, haha. Thanks for the fast response. Guess I'll go see what the current deals are at Verizon.
Good luck! Give the nexus toolkit a shot. Nexus is pretty hard to brick, I think

I dropped my E4GT in a puddle :crying: and, long story short, am getting a replacement in the mail tomorrow or the day after. Is my refurbished E4GT likely to have the ICS update installed? Has anyone recently received a replacement phone? I am hoping that it is not, because of awful battery life.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Even if it is it o lay takes like 10 mi urea to get back to gb

I have. So far we have no developer support. Thats something you might wanna think about.

Yup, easy to root but I had a hell of a time with TB. I ended up using root explorer to .zip all titanium backup files then I sent it via bt between my Nexus and Note 2. Several other unsuccessful methods before I did it like this.

I did. After rooting and installing tb, I just copied my backups from old phone to new phone and restored what I wanted in tb.
Worked fine.

I just got this and have the GS3 (which I love) and it is nite and day between hardware. This is straight butter... hard to believe that dev support for this won't pick up. Also, given that the hardware is identical to international... only a matter of time before we can flash their ROMs (obviously modems will be an issue)
I just got a warranty replacement on my s2,and was wondering if after I rooted the phone, I could restore the latest backup I did on my old phone. It is of course the same model, but I have never seen this asked before, and it would save a ton of time. If not, no big deal but I thought I would ask.

Yes no problem restored backups to new phone several times and like you said same phone of course. If not you will have a brick instantly. As long as its a rom for sgh-t989 you're good to go .
