WAP Push Manager Service is implemented to process incoming WAP Push messages and to maintain the Receiver Application/Application ID mapping. The WapPushManager runs as a system service, and only the WapPushManager can update the WAP Push message and Receiver Applicationmapping (Application ID Table). When the device receives an SMS WAP Push message, the WapPushManager looks up the Receiver Application name in Application ID Table. If an application is found, the application is launched using its full component name instead of broadcasting an implicit Intent. If a Receiver Application is not found in the Application ID Table or the WapPushManager returns a process-further value, the telephony stack will process the message using existing message processing flow, and broadcast an implicit Intent.

Oh yea bikrame thanks for the request, I will get there.... right now I am identifying all of the apps_file_name, Application Name, Service Type, Safe to remove & then perhaps Version Number, last update and such.
This will be the definitive guide, most indeed.

Yeah this would be most helpful because I don't know what some of the stuff Luke setup wizard or scloud sync does and if removed would it mess up my phone.

I am glad that you can see the possibilites of this thread circuit.007, really. I am acting if, i want to be the definitive source for the app Category, I have to know the app Category and this is why I started this thread. Others as well as myself will have a clear understanding of this thread and the types of apps.

Thanks for the Initiative. I will try to help best I can. I came here after getting Blues from the effort I saw on International SIII Bloat Thread. In that thread there is a lot of Discussion on what each App does. Some we do have on SGH-T999 others we do not. You may also want to look at this Spreadsheet over here. Also please Look at this Sys app Mover. It gives a good Explanation of what the app does. You don't need the app per se if you have Titanium Pro. Lastly for those of you who don't have root, try My Backup Pro. For those who do, look at this thread after Titaium Backup.
Let me Provide Explanation to those that I know. Once you update main thread, I will Delete mine.

Thanks akapaul26, This is a project and one that will take some time. It would be nice to get this puppy pinned for the ease of accessibility and visibility. I would love for everyone to view this reference guide and perhaps contribute until I have all of stock apps listed. Maybe in the distance future for other commonly used apps that are not stock but are common among the Galaxy T999.
ps: Pass the word on and play it forward!

[Q] Jelly Beans apk's function and safe to remove?

The greatest thing about xda forum is we here have a choice to choose to select, test and customize into our favorite ROM. Some people want more fancy stuffs while other prefer the minimalistic lean and fast. This forum add great values to our device and great convenience.
I came across many new .apk in system/app but I have no ideas of what they do in Jelly Bean's latest version. If would be awesome if someone can create a list of apk's function and whether it is safe to remove - what would the effects be if it gets removed. I focus on super lean, fast and stable.

Someone please add new list of Jelly Beans apk's for SamSung Galaxy S3:
1.) functions
2.) Safety removal level
3.) Possible effects of removal.
Even the leanest ROM developed here, there are still many .apk some people won't need. It is really fantastic if each user has the ability/knowing how to weed out those apk they will never use - further customization.

Bloatware removal

I've seen and been very grateful for bloatware removal discussions on other devices, titanium backup, root explorer and I have been busy with our new Sprint Note II and have been able to get rid of the following without (seemingly) any lost functionality:

I hope we can work together to describe, prioritize and root out the really bad bloatware actors at least until some custom roms come along.
Any noticeable difference? Or just peace of mind?

I removed a bunch of stuff too. For me its not a speed or battery problem , but clutter. I can't stand all the clutter of so many useless apps. I haven't noticed and changes though.
AFter I made a complete with Titanium backup, when I tried to remove bloatware like 'AllShare', it said :
"If you uninstall the wrong package, you may need to reinstall from your ROM"
What does it mean? If I really removed a wrong package, why can't I reinstall it from the Titanium backup?
Thanks!
LOL...everybody wants to remove it..i want it back...at least the possibility to sync my contact and messages..noone posted bloatware to download and add to the rom?
Here is the list of TB backups I have (just meaning I removed it and still have a record that it was stock):

Yeah 2.3.4 breaks push notifications, Gtalk, and some other google related stuff. All Verizon apps are safe to remove. I'm using Cola on my R800X and it came with only like 12 apps, so there's quiet a bit of unneeded material installed on stock.

Can be replaced:
(These apps can be safely removed and be replaced by preferred third party apps of the same function.)
Warning: Sony Ericsson's home launcher should not be removed until after another third party home launcher has been installed and properly set up to take over it's function.
Note: Depending on the third party calendar app of choice, it may be advisable to setup your calendars using the default calendar app before removing it.
Note: Most third party messaging apps cannot send and receive MMS if the stock messaging app is removed.
Note: Removing the default clock widget will alsoremove the alarm feature. Ensure your clock of choice has alarms or have another alarm app installed.

Updating of System apps:
Unlike user apps, when system apps get updated, the original apk in/system/appcannot be replaced automatically. Hence the newer version will be installed as a user app in /data/app.
To save space on your rom, the original ones in/system/app can be deleted. Or, you can manually replace the newer ones from /data/app to /system/app.
Deleting the ones in /system/app is recommended since future updates will replace them and saves space on the rom.

(TIPS) for battery saving must open.!!

battery will save more then 10% make Google maps backup first if you don't want to backup also can, and uninstall it.! when u want to use install it back.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Thanks... But it is only one tip... LOL
You can also use autorun manager pro to disable the receivers ...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
It would be a good idea to have a thread on optimizing google apps which have become invasive bloatware IMO. Along the lines of gapps recommendations for battery: uninstall maps, network location, google backup transport (use mapquest). Also with play services I keep it frozen with disabled receivers since it reinstalls itself if you uninstall it. If anybody knows a good fix for that or has other info on disabling receivers that won't stay disabled, that would be greatly appreciated. Or good apps to use for freezing/backups/modifying receivers and startups. I use system tuner.
Here's my list of user/system apps that I uninstall, some listed by apk and name. This does get rid of live wallpapers and other crap I consider bloatware, definitely personalized for me, be careful. Make sure you back up each app per rom.

Customizing the Custom ROM - Removing the "safe mode" function. DEV HELP!!!

I had a hardware problem, my option button is been pressed and automatically the mobile boots into safe mode, in which i can never install a 3rd party application. I am using a custom ROM, Ultimate HD 4.0 if you can tell me where is the safe mode confd file and how i can remove its function, so that even if the key is pressed when booting, the system should not boot into safe mode.
Your may recommend me to produce the mobile in service centre, but i would like to take this as a challenge , please do help me .!

This is Android's built-in feature. There is no way to remove it, just like Windows has safe mode.
I found this - http://www.shaneycrawford.com/2012/01/how-to-get-your-android-phone-out-of-safe-mode/comment-page-1/
They recommend to press other buttons.
Also, try playing with the menu button, so it would not stay as pressed.
