V6 Supercharger not as good as it seems......? - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hi guys this is my first thread.
When I first found out the V6 Supercharger script, I was very HAPPY because i thought that will be the cure to my laggy Wonder. I tried it at first and I thought everything was working well. Then I became a ROM maniac and I will switch to different ROMs about every week to try them out. Every time I flash a new rom i will install V6 back. But now, after using V6 about a month, I think V6 isn't helping at all.:crying: I felt that it made my Wonder even laggier that before. I even feel that PIMP MY ROM is better and smoother.
Any thoughts?

i think v6 script give a very boost only in 2.3 rom infact in cm9 and cm10 i try it but with negative effect....for now for me is under test the new Lazerdroid init.d (is made for good gaming) script LINK on cm10 the last version have a bug if you want to try on it you must use THIS version wher i fix the boot time problem (only change from 90 to 5 sec)

v6supercharger need to patch the ROM before you can use the script specially in CM9 and CM10.

I use v6 on cm10 PAC rom. And i feel the changes though,

Yes, I'm very sure I'm 100% supercharged, every time , every ROM.

you are right..it wont allow huge memory required apps to wrk like games maintaining the min free space!!

supercharging doesn't seem to work as well in ICS compared to GB for me

Basically it doesn't make a game run smoother. Its primary purpose is to keep your launcher locked in memory. In which indirectly unallow any external or internal program to mess with the part where launcher memory is locked at.
If you want something snappier you can use Seeders. This is confirmed snappier.
As for any tweaks and mods to make devices better, Im open to most options. But v6 is certainly something I would not invest my time in the future unless there is a major change in its operation.
:good: :good: To seeders.

Personally, I feel V6 since ICS is just too much work for too little benefit.
If I have 1GB RAM, I'll be singing a different tune, fer shure...
But, since the W has only 512MB RAM... I prefer my launcher to be killed when I'm pressed for memory, rather than whatever app I'm using crashed due to OOM...

[Q] Tips to make sense 3.0 run smoother?

Any tips, like apps or mods or w/e, to make sense 3.0 run smoother? I tried android assistant and setting the auto cache cleaner to every 10 minutes and advanced task manager to kill some apps, but it the sense 3.0 roms still lag. Has anyone found a good app/mod combo to help these roms run smoother?
I got better performance by implementing the v6 supercharger script and setting sync to maximum intervals, our not using them at all. Tiny's kernel overclocked to 1.13 helps too.
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda premium
There are options you can use in the kernel that will better manage memory so you don't have to run more resource-hogging apps. Generally speaking, wiping cache (especially that often) and killing apps all the time is a great way to kill the battery faster and slow it down a lot. V6 does incorporate a number of effective tools and tweaks that make things run smoother, though it's not as effective on some ROMs as others, it seems.
First thing you want to do though is try to get memory usage up around 85-90%. (Yeah, I REALLY did just say that. As in 50MB to 75MB free.) It also helps to be a little more aggressive in cleaning up dirty cache. There's actually a lot that can be done with parameters that can make small differences that can add up to a 10% - 20% improvement in performance without touching clock speed. In any event, task/app killers aren't a solution to any problem that exists on modern ROMs, and neither are memory cleaning apps. Both do more harm than good.
Edit: Seeing as how there aren't any custom gingerbread Sense kernels supporting sysfs, scripting this stuff might be a little harder, but possible. Looking at the ROM I'm running now with a stock kernel, the scripts that are built into it should be easy enough to modify.
The desire ports of sense 3.0 are smooth and fast, you should try those. Try using the super charger script or the adrenaline shot ( not sure if I spelled it right)

[Looking for] Xperia Play enhances such as more ram or sth

As in topic. Im looking for any enhancements form my xperia play such as increasing size of ram, applications memory or sth like that. I didnt put it in offtopic cos i dont think that it is offtopic. Please move my topic if u think different.
Two things I would definately recommend.
1: V6 SuperCharger
2: Xperia PLAY Tweaks from this thread....

No you do not need a unlocked BL. Just need root and busybox and script manager. But honestly just get your bootloader unlocked. It's worth the 24$.

How does it work though? Do they add something to the hardware or is it software based? :S If it's software why can't I do it for free?

Its much easier to use Ram manager app. I found it seams to do more for our play's we have. Then Supercharger V6 and a lot easier to set up when you want different setting's. We just wondered why the supercharger dev never made his script into an app instead of using script manager. This is really what ram manager did. All you need is root.
hope this helps as is another option.

Script manager runs written coded scripts that change things written in your device's code.
Supercharger is software based. All it add's is some build.prop tweek's really and tells you device to kill running background apps like a hardcore version of Advanced Task Killer
I already have ram manager pro, running the script for V6 supercharger now.

I would seriously recomend doomlord's doomkernel. It supports over clocking. I'm loving it at 2Ghz. I ran v6 but in all honesty I didn't notice a difference what so ever. I'm actually doubting wether it does anything at all.

V6 Supercharger on Stock SE ROM ?
Hi guys,
I noticed some of you in this thread are having excellent results with V6 Supercharger script.
I tried to install this script on my XPeria Play R800i under Stock SE ROM 2.3.4 without success.
Frozen screen on reboot and recovery through ClockWorkMod to get it up again.
Do you use the V6 Supercharger on stock ROM or on a custom ROM ?
Thanks for your answers,
Hi there,
As nobody answered my call so far, I come back to give feedback on my own experience.
I tried again to install the V6Supercharger Script and manage to get through this time.
The first time, I guess I simply did not wait enough time.
In fact, I had to wait like almost 10 minutes on the Sony-Ericson XPeria logo (after the boot animation) before my phone came back to life.
It can be quite stressful so just be prepared !
After that, I went through the pin code entry screen and found out some of my widgets did not properly load and some applications were not showing up.
Therefore, I rebooted and everything went fine on the second time. All the apps showed up properly (only mixed up in the scrolling app section).
Launching the script again, it confirmed my phone was 100% supercharged with the following settings (script previously set as root, run at boot):
- DieHard launcher
- Rock&Roll Kernel
- Miscellaneous tweaks and 3G enhancement installed
- 512HP setting with V6 CustOOMizer option
- Minfrees set at 8, 12, 40, 47, 55 and 62MB
with 367MB of Ram (is this correct for the XPlay ?).
This was applied on the Sony Ericsson stock ROM 2.3.4 and the stock Kernel.
The first impression was that the scrolling between various home displays was faster.
I started Dead Trigger, running correctly (maybe just a bit slower, not sure) and when I exited the game, I had almost no Redraw time to wait.
Before V6 Supercharger, I used to wait around 5 seconds before all the icons were there again and I could scroll.
This time, the icons were right there and the scrolling hesitated for maybe 1 second but got super smooth again right after that.
Ok, this is to share my experience with you, guys.
No idea if anyone has experience on the XPlay ? Maybe using other settings ?
As there is a clear note that this script is not intended for heavy gamers, it tends to indicate it should not be really used on the XPlay, mainly used by heavy gamers.
What is your opinion on that ?
Cheers,

[Q] How to get the Play performing it's best?

Hey there,
I want to optimize my Play because games like backstab, shadowgun, GTA3 seem to lag a great deal and it becomes really frustrating reading about all the people for whom they work perfect with the same phone.
I got the international play R800i gsm, stock kernel, stock rom, android 2.3.4 ...58 firmware.
After completing the basic steps to get my Play performing well. Those steps were removing the bloatware, build.prop tweaks, gpu rendering and chainfire. I read thru the Play WIKI and also the not maintained super compilation.
I now got 220MB internal memory left, 170mb memory left on rom, and 220mb free ram.
Tryed out V6 supercharger, playing in flight mode, removing chanfire but nothing really helped the game experience...
I'm puzzled and seeking out for help, how do you get your play optimized for joyfull gamexperience

@ezadsyafiq99 I should have mentioned it in the first post: I'm on a locked bootloader, and believe my skills and luck to be not good enough to unlock the bootloader without messing something up so the kernel is out of question for right now, but thanks anyway I guess it will be an useful tip for others.
The Rom you mentioned is a real nice work, I have tried it, looks fine and runs fast. But I don't really believe it to be faster as stock. Just my opinion
@ LG_fuad92 - I can't for sure confirm that, but the supercharger is all about regrouping OOM and low memory killing to enable the ram to be more multitasking able and faster. I remember it also has a "Hard Gaming" option like the mentioned Ram Manager pro.
However the V6 didn't work for me, the script said 100% supercharged, the log said didn't apply settings :-/

I can't yet fully confirm it, but it seems like Ram Manager Pro on the Hard Gaming option did the Trick for me.
Played 20-30 mins of Shadowgun where I killed the big cyber lobster and run around in the next level without any kind of lag.
Same with Backstab, looked perfect in the 15 mins I have been playing it yet.
Will get more time to play tomorrow and update

Yeah? I'm on the ROM and to be honest the battery life isn't good. I might switch to your setup. Are you happy with it? Is the battery life good? and overclocking is related to the Kernel? I thought it was the ROM?

Overclocking is done with an OC kernel, not the ROM itself.
The best battery life will be achieved with the best baseband, kernel, kernel settings, and the lightest, most bare-bones ROM.

[Discuss]Tweaks to make your Gio faster

There are many different ways to tweak a android phone in XDA, here I want to share about what I did to my Gio
1) Rom: CM7 by ItachiSama 20121225 Nightly + U235 Kernel by farzad.u235
2) CM7 Performance setting: Disabled Compcache, surface dithering, Use 16bit transparency
3) CPU setting: 245Mhz - 844Mhz + SmartAssV2
4) Script: V6Supercharger U9RC8.2 & 3G TurboCharger, CronMod-INT2EXT+ for 500MB sd-ext
5) Swap: 64MB swap file in sd-ext
6) Scheduled Fast Engine Flush every 3 hour by Script Manager
7) App Quarantine for Apps that hardly use but keep start itself in the background
I think that's all, any other suggestion?
Usually when i use cm7 i only use these settings
CM7 Performance setting: Disabled Compcache, surface dithering
CPU setting: 245Mhz - 800Mhz + LagFree
And the rom is smooth enough for me
With cm7:
Ondemand + noop
245 min / 864 max mhz
Adrenaline engine (or tweakzv6 + default.prop from adrenaline engine) + cronmod int2ext4+
Init.d: 98netforks_tweak + loopy smoothness + 14enable_touchscreen_1 script
Pimpmyrom apk with only ondemand governor tweaks enabled + entropy set on boot.
And with cm9 I only use supercharger with patched services.jar and with latest cm10.1 no tweaks because lots of problems with patched services.jar and supercharger script and other scripts like mmb or adrenaline engine works only for 50%.

I suspect that the scheduler in Script Manager drain the battery pretty fast, so I disabled it,
Also I find this link to force GPU to render: http://madteam.co/forum/tutorials/%28tut%29big-performance-increase-on-cm79/15/?PHPSESSID=fnattahs63jq78lie5nd7f6ee3

For swap, you can install a app called Swapper for Root,
then use it to create a swap file in sd-ext, then use terminal:
su
swapon /sd-ext/swap.swp
And App Quarantine is just a app.
After trying a whole bunch of tweaks on a whole bunch of roms , i got to the conclusion that it`s not worth it on the long run to use them , my personal opinion only. If the rom has a CPU manager i usually just set the min to 245 and maybe maybe i switch to smartassv2 and that`s all. If the rom doesn`t have that included i just leave it like that , like AOSP roms for example , they are great exactly as they are.

agreed...after 1 year of using gio and after trying several roms/scripts, in cm 7.2 at least all it is needed to be done: governor smartassv2, 245-800 and nothing, NOTHING else...the phone is as smooth as butter..no swap, no scripts, no overclock, no lag (except for when updating/installing something, but this is normal even in full desktop PCs)

Yes it is just like a PC, and the more Apps you use and the more resources they require, the more power is needed.
I have 336MB Apps on my Gio(only 3 games, less than 40MB), if there isn't any tweaking available I think I am using a better phone months ago.
Even a simple minfree tweak on a stock 2.3.6 rom by Apps like "AutoKiller Memory Optimizer", the difference is pretty noticeable.
And about the smooth as butter thing, I cannot agree with you, if only you are comparing Gio with something like HTC Hero.
Just sharing my opinion

I am not using gio as my primary phone, i own an htc one s.. ofc, there is a big difference between a single core 800 mhz and a dual core 1.7 ghz.. still, on gio i have no lag, hence i call it smooth as butter.. no, i am not playing games which most likely are NOT smooth, nor am i using on gio cpu/graphic extensive apps like photoshop or whatever.. i am not one of the guys complaining that their 1000 $ 20 years old car is not able to go from 0 to 100 in 3 seconds like a Ferrari.. yes, starting opera from sd-ext is taking much longer than on the htc, but i was talking about the snappiness of the phone during menus, doing stuffs, how fast reacts to inputs, commands and all that, with stock settings and no scripts and "optimizers".. maybe it matters the specific ROM each one uses? i dont know what the minfree values are in my ROM, but i have no issues with memory, no need to have an autokiller (which by the way is absolutely useless unless you disable the services..it autokills programs which start again right away, i am talking about facebook, google`s one, etc) .. but it is good that we disagree, this is how the world evolves

Well I use cm 7.2 by mmb team + activospeeder 3.5 + geva's megabass = awesome phone

[Q] I've installed CM10.2 JellyBean, so now what's next?

How about the kernel? What's a good performance kernel? or do I even need one? There's a guy in this forum who has managed to boost his Samsung GT-I8150's fps to 20! now how in the world did he do that? my current fps is max at 6fps(antutu benchmark) with only basic apps installed and most unneeded running apps forced-stop. i know there's so much can be done on this phone since its..ehh..a low specs device bt isnt Android(linux based) is all about reviving the dead? lol

Im running CM10.2 currently. So far, so good, even though theres bugs still present. As far as I know, there aren't any CM10.2 kernel for the W so you're stuck with the stock kernel that comes with the ROM itself. Im thinking that the guy who managed to somehow "boost" his device is probably running GB i mean its rock stable.
I made my SGW by flashing PurePerfomanceX® Tweaks and also uninstalling stupid useless system app like CM updater and LWPs. Also, since there's no other custom kernel for 4.3 (like i mentioned) I tweaked the Interactive governor from the guys at the GNexus forum and switched my I/O scheduler to deadline. Again, its pretty smooth although the only thing that I find irritating is the stutters i find when scrolling some super heavy apps but obv, this aint a Nexus 5 soo bare with the lags. Some additions i did was installing Seeder and LagFix (can be found at GPlayStore)

Woah man thanks alot on recomending the PurePerfomanceX® Tweaks! what a difference it makes lol and do i need to install those seeders&lagfix? im not a gamer so yeah are they really necessary? one other thing, how do i get the SmartassV2 governor? doesnt pureperformancex script includes that aswell? and finally(i promise! lol) do any of these tweaks help in conserving battery? prior to this, the battery was draining like mad it could be the condition of battery since ive had this phone for almost 2years now. before i go out and get new battery maybe if there was a tweak that could help reviving this old fella would be super. buying new phone is out of the question for the time being since i lost my samsung note3 2weeks ago..sigh sad life.
anyway thanks alot brother for the kind help
