You should flash a recent firmware. I recommend .50 or .55. At least the problem with the proximity sensor was fixed in those firmwares.

Hey there I can help you out with one of the above queries.
1. ht tp://talk.sony] mobile.com/servlet/JiveServlet/s howImage/2-288537-18743/Screenshot_2012-09-22-19-06-23.p ng
You see the leftmost icon which has been dimmed away. It lightens up once the call starts to ring at the other end. After that you can always press this button to see the call log. ( I can't link a photo to you so you'd have to copy that link in your address bar and remove the spaces in order to view that. Apologies for that.
Most of the other queries are built in features by Timescape. Try some new ROM if they bother you too much. Also, a bit of personal advice, don't delete the walkman app. You'd see that it is one of the BEST music apps around.

I really hope it doesn't route all sound while the panel is loaded...
Hi,
tried it a couple of minutes ago and it works pretty well! Sound comes from the earpiece but only during the call. Ringing etc comes from the speaker... nice panel!

I think it's the "old/first" Skype panel
It's good with the wired headset, but when you want to call with Speaker, the sound comes out the speaker (aside the phone) and the volume is quite low (even the soundsettings are maximized)
Also if you plug out the headset during a call, the phone sees the headset is unplugged, but Skype will keep (your call) in headset mode
i was using skype earlier to make a call to a mobile phone...it connected...but i notice that i was going to be charged by the minute...how does skype bill me when i didn't give them my credit card info...do they bill the other person?

I don't think they'll charge the other person.
But I've noticed, when I checked my profile on Skype Panel, it says I got 1 Call Credit.
I presume Skype gives 1 free call

as i described the sound comes from the speaker where you got your ear, like a normal phone call over gsm, not from the speaker from the side. also the volume is sufficent in my opinion.

Try installing Skype first, then install the panel. That is what I did on itje's WM6.5 ROM and it works fine.
I'm having problems
1) I had Skype 2.5 on my Xperia (Stock R2A UK generic with R3A panel manager and ActiveX).
2) Downloaded and installed the panel. When I run the panel, Skype starts but the panel itself is empty, I can only see the background (blue back and white image at the bottom with letters). I can't see any contacts. But I can see them all in Skype application window. I can only see the panel background when I select Today from Start menu.
3) I uninstalled Skype and Skype panel, reset.
4) Downloaded latest Skype 2.5 from Skype and installed it, reset as asked.
5) Installed Skype panel, reset
6) Nothing changed:
When I open Skype panel the application starts (normally, like I was on any panel, contacts are displayed in the app). I can only see the panel backgroud when I open Start menu and select Today (then I can see the blue and white background without any contacts)
What else can I do to see the contacts on the Skype panel (not just in the application window)?
Press OK when in the Skype bit and this will return you to the blue and white (letters) panel bit.

OK brings me to the panel bit but no contacts are displayed on it - just the blue and white. Doesn't mather even if in the settings I choose "Contacts" > "All" or "Online now". When I press the left soft key "Skype" it opens skype and shows me my contacts, some online and some offline. Then pressing "OK" I get to the panel, but still it's empty.
EDIT: The sound comes from the phone speaker, not the loudspeaker at the bottom corner.

Does the sound come out from the speaker then ?
I think the reason why this panel version is not compatible with itje 5.06 because if u look at the device information identity tab. It show the model number to be Touch D and not X1. Now if there is a way to change that back to X1, you would be able to install it. Anyone know how to change it?
well if you read the touch it thread, youd see several posts telling you how to change the device ID..

If U want ballons in skypepanel U need a hardrestet and DON'T install skype from www.skype.com - ONLY flash plugin /first/ and skypepanel from your X1 /Start/Internet Explorer/Panels/.

Ok. The balloons are not worth a hard reset for me. So I'm going to try:
1) Uninstall Skype panel
2) Uninstall Skype app
3) Soft reset
4) Install Skype panel
Let's see...
EDIT:
Not my lucky day. Didn't work just like that. Still no balloons.
Somebody knows what folders or registry keys I have to reset or delete to get the same effect as with hard reset?

Thank you , you are right changing the device id helps, I found howto on the Roms thread , as you say there are more than 200 replays and it is just not easy to see every thing!
changing stuffs in registry and a file called modell.txt in windows helped but no ballons for me , Had skype installed before the panel.

Did a hardreset and installed my apps again then just skype panel , no beta, there are still no balloons!

[Bug] Voice Search Fails Unless Mic is Already Active

This isn't a complaint, just a bug report.
System: Sprint TP2 (Rhod400)
Build: [MJG]Rhod.2.2Froyo.082610 w/8-27 sound patch (modules-2.6.27.46-01149-g74aec59.tar and update zImage)
Install Type: Clean Install
Problem: Voice Search does not initialize the mic.
To recreate:
1) Boot into Android.
2) Start Voice Search.
Voice search will fail as no sound will be recorded. However, voice search itself *does work* if you start it with the mic active.
To see voice search working:
1) Boot into Andorid.
2) Make a phone call.
3) End the call.
4) Immediately start voice search.
5) Voice search will record the sound (you will see the mic icon flash white) and run the search as expected.
Note: Voice search closes the mic when finished, so if you attempt to immediately use it a second time, it will fail.
I hadn't seen this noted anywhere and as such wanted to mention it since the sound system is now in a much better state.
I think the same thing happened to me, unless I dont know how to use the program but i'm sure i do.
Its called talking tom cat. it records your voice then replays it in high pitch kitty talk. I pressed record, spoke into the mouth piece both normally and very loud. It didn't playback anything.

[TUT]Call recording on HTC One X, a noobs Guide! [UPDATE 23.05.12]

Hi All
I have wrote a noob's complete guide to call recording on the HTC One X (International, Tegra 3 edition), this guide gives clear step by step instructions. More experienced users will not need this guide, but, may find the app review and sample recordings useful.
If you are already rooted go straight to Part 3
Part 1. Unlock your phone's bootloader at HTCDev
The HTC One X (HOX) is not currently in the listed devices, don't worry just select "All Other Supported Models" from the drop down menu and follow the simple instructions, if you need further help see guide B in step 2. The down side to this is that it will your void warranty to some extent, how much is debatable. If you have phone insurance like me it will be less of a worry.
This is unfortunately the only way to root a HOX at the moment, we are still waiting for S-Off.
Part 2. Root your phone.
There are already a few guides on rooting the HOX, I will link to a few below, I followed guide A.
Guide A
How to root your HTC One X (for Windows, Mac and Linux) by paulobrien.
I used this guide and followed the section "EASIEST ROOT METHOD - 'RECOVERY + SUPERSU'" I had no problems.
Guide B
[Tut] Preparing Your One X for Custom Roms (For Dummies) by bagofcrap24.
This guide is very detailed, it not only explains how to Root you your phone but also guides you through unlocking your bootloader via HTVDev.
Guide C
[TOOL] HTC One X All-In-One Toolkit V1.0 [4-17-12] [PERM ROOT][Noob-
Proof] by hasoon2000
As the title suggests, this is an all in one tool kit.
Ok, so now you have your phone unlocked and rooted, my guide can begin...
Flashing Onepagebook's call recording patch
Part 3a. Download Onepagebook's excellent patch (Sound_Phone_Original_REC.zip) from the first post on his thread, <<HERE>>
I downloaded the zip file straight to my phone and recommend you do the same, it will then be easy to find the zip file your phone's download folder.
Before you proceed you should make a back up of your phones original "Sound_Phone_Original_REC.zip" file I used Root Browser from Google Play market for this. Find the file at the following path in your phone...
system/etc/soundimage/Sound_Phone_Original_REC.txt
... and save it on your pc or somewhere safe (I Gmailed it to myself )
Part 3b. Boot into recovery on your phone and flash the patch, if unsure follow steps a-d below.
a. Turn off phone, hold down the volume down button and turn the phone back on, keep finger on the volume down button until you see the boot menu
b. Select "Recovery" using the volume buttons for up and down and the power button to select
I use ClockworkMod Recovery, and I can now see the ClockworkMod recovery screen.
c. Select - install zip from sdcard, then, - choose zip from sdcard, - Download/, and finally, - Sound_Phone_Original_REC.zip then allow your phone to apply the patch.
d. Simply reboot.
Still reading? Good, because now your phone is capable of 2 way call recording. You just need to choose an app.
Popular (IMO Best) Call Recording Apps and Reviews.
I have tested 3 call recording apps and uploaded sample recordings from them all...
1. Auto Call Recorder by Appstar Solutions
Plus Points
*This app worked straight away with default settings, Audio Source "Mic" and File Type "AMR"
*Quality is great
*Easy to share files via Bluetooth, Google Drive, Drop Box, Gmail, Mail or Skype
*You can add call comments
*Its free (but you can go pro)
* Nice UI, Easy to use
Neg Points
*You are limited to a maximum number of 40 calls in the inbox before they get deleted over, so you either have to save the calls you want or share them. (I gmail them to myself)
*Not optimised for ICS
Verdict 8/10 You will not be disappointed with this great app, only lost points on the 40 call inbox limit and not being optimised for ICS
2. CallRecorder by skvalex
This is the app I use, I used this app on my desire too and have always been happy with it. Imho this is the best call recorder app available for android.
To enable 2 way recording through this app, just enter the app preference setting and set...
a. (Record calls from) to (Standard Android API)
b. (Call recording format) to (AAC) or (AMR) I have not tested the others.
c. Select (Standard Android API preferences) then (Audio Source) and choose (Microphone)
Plus Points
*Works with a wide range of different phones
*Great sound quality
*Developer is helpful and maintains/updates/improves the app regularly
*Developer uses these XDA forums and has a valuable input in threads
*Loads of file formats to choose from
*Loads of options
*Share via Bluetooth, Google Drive, Drop Box, Gmail, Mail or Skype
*Nice UI and easy to use
*Optimised for ICS
*Highest rated call recorder app on the Google Play Market
Negative Points
*The price, but hey, the guy works hard on this app and it is a quality product so I am happy to support it.
*Needs 3 simple steps to set up, but, it's fairly straight forward and only takes a min! (See guide above)
Verdict 9/10 It is hard to see how you could improve upon this app, very popular and well supported. It's price lets it down a little, but, you get what you pay for.
3. Record My Call by NATHANIEL KH
Plus Points
*Good quality sound
*Free
*Works without changing any settings
*Great renaming options
*Search filters are a useful bonus
* Integrated with NexiWave for speech to text Automated Transcription (I have not tested this feature, requires registering with NexiWave and costs)
Negative Points
*Not optimised for ICS and very small hard to press icons
*Few settings
*Only mp3 file format
Verdict 6.5/10 A free workable solution with some neat and interesting features, let down by a lack of options & file formats and its really small buttons. Not as user friendly as it could be.
*Update 22.05.2012*
I was curious about Total Call Recorder and decided to give it a try today, but, I couldn't get it to record at all, on either of the 3 available settings.

*Update 23.05.2012* *Bluetooth*
Onepagebook has explain on his thread <<HERE>> that the patch has (so far) only been created to record the path to the audio chip set i.e. the mic, which it does amazingly well! However he is still working on the patch to mod the headset path, which he hopes will be working "in the near future" to enable Bluetooth recording.
For the time being you can just disable call recording when connected to bluetooth, to do this with...
1. CallRecorder by Skvalex, just open the app, press the settings button and select "Preferences" then "Standard Android API Preferences" "Action on BT connected" and select "Disable recording"
2. Auto Call Recorder by Appstar Solutions, open the app, press settings, scroll down and make sure "Bluetooth, Disable recording when bluetooth connected" is ticked.
On a final note; CallRecorder by Skvalex's set at ACC format uses less memory per call than Auto Call Recorder set at AMR and much less than Record My Call in the only available format, MP3. This is something you may wish to take into account when making your decision.
I have uploaded 3 test calls to this post, so you can hear the quality for yourself. Auto Call recorder, Callrecorder by Skvalex and Record My call. I hope you will find these useful.
If you did find this guide useful, have anything you want to add or have found other call recording apps that work please thank me or leave a comment.
I hope this guide helps and saves people some time.

Hi Nubzori,
Thanks for the complement
Can't speak for everyone lol, but, I wanted call recording so I would have proof of contracts made over the phone. Companies record their calls with you and this feature puts the consumer on an equal footing.
A few years back I was offered an "upgrade" with broadband and phone provider talk talk UK. A TT rep said the upgrade would continue to include free international calls to select countries and as my wife's family live in Poland this was very important to us.
One day, halfway through the first month of our new contract our phone and Internet stopped working so I asked TT what the problem was, they said our service was cut off because we reached our "limit" and would need to pay the £300 currently owed! This was only 3 weeks before X-Mas
You'd assume it was obvious we wouldn't change from a plan costing us £30 a month to a plan costing over £300. But no, they insisted we must pay, I explained what I was told but they said they didn't believe me and when I said I had the conversation recorded, they misinformed me that my recording was illegal, even though an auto message was played at the start of the call that they was recording me! (a rep from the ceo's office later said my recording was not illegal)
TT customer service reps are some of the worst I have ever seen. :banghead:
Anyhow, long Story short, finally a ceo's rep asked me if I could send him my recording, after listening he wiped the debt straight away and sent me an apology.
In that example I got back £270 and Christmas was saved horay all thanks to call recording
Secondly, I find myself listening to recordings to double check info like times and dates made over the phone and I don't have to search for a pen when people leave me there number
It's very useful.

Disable when connected to bluetooth
Hi,
Haven't found the time to try them all, but maby someone knows...
I'm using CallRecorder by skvalex (the best I've use yet) but have the problem that when connected to my bluetooth carkit it f*cks up the phone call; as soon as it starts recording the audio is lost, not only in recording but also in the actual conversation.
I ave taken a look at Tasker and Profile Settings Full, but after killing CallRecorder when connected to Bluetooth CallRecorder just restarts itself. So that doesn't seem to work...
So I have to manually disable CallRecorder as soon as I enter my car, or I can't use my phone for what it's build for; making a phone conversation.
So, do any of these programs have an option to *not* start recording when connected to a bluetooth headset/carkit? Or does anyone know of a way to disable CallRecorder and re-enable it when bluetooth disconnects?
Big thanks,
Cheers,
/Cacti
There is an option in CallRecorder to disable recording when connected to BT.
Choose the "Standard Android API Preferences" and then set the option "Action on BT connected".
I have not tried it, I just saw the option

Thank you very much. Work on ARHD.
Tried the Auto Call Recorder by Appstar and work fine. But, it was found the phone in-call volume up to maximum every time and had to tuned it down. Otherwise, the sound was distorted severely. Shutting down the apps does not have such change in volume.
Changed to Record My Call by NATHANIEL this morning. Works fine and no change on in-call volume. Moreover, the review function right after each call provides better management to the recorded call.
Very nice patch and does it work flawlessly.

Thanks for your feedback.
I used Auto Call Recorder by apps star without the volume issue you suffered, admittedly I only used it for a short while, just for testing. When at my pc I will make a note of this issue on my review.
I'm glad you're happy with Record My Call by NATHANIEL. It is a very capable solution, just as I said in my review, though little awkward and few settings.
Personly I've never liked after call review functions, since I had a nokia and accidently deleted a call I wanted to keep, it's probably not a big deal with these apps as I'm pretty sure they just hold the file in a recycle bin. Plus I prefer it to all happen in the background.
If I get more feedback I'll change the app scores.

Hy !
For the moment i am trying "Record My Call by NATHANIEL", but il isn't perfect :
1/The recording begins 5 seconds too late (missing the beginning of conversation) and no setting for this....
2/ When I CALL someone the voice of the other people cuts often or is distorted .
In reception of calls it works very well .
Of course my phone, one x, is rooted and your patch is installed.
So i think i must try another app you suggered, either if you have a solution for "record my call " ?

sorry to ask but does this patch work for HTC ONE XL?
cheers
i'm wondering if the call recorder can cause massive battery drain (compared to the usual drain on the one X).
i'm using the charmeleon rom with francos r9 which people are reporting great battery use with but mine drains a lot.
in 9h 41min use i have 30% left
42% is cell standby
27% is screen 52min on time
13% media server 45min cpu use / 1h15m keep awake.
the main culprit seems to be cell standby but i'm not sure if that's caused by the call recorder or not
I tried CallRecorder by skvalex because it can also upload to Dropbox etc.
However, the upload (sync?) is NOT done automatically, so I have to upload by hand each time after a phone call.
So, please insert that (for me) negative point to the review!
If I had known that, I would not have bought the program.
But, fortunately there is a way: by using Dropspace I can synchronize a folder with Dropbox, so each recording is duplicated in Dropbox.
Thanks for this very interesting thread! Recordings work finally.

Do any call recording apps do this automatically? No point adding it as a neg to all the call recording apps if it turns out to be a feature that can't work. Just I've not noticed this feature on a 2wcr app before.
Cheers

[Q] Bluetooth issues on CM9RC3

Hey all, Lloir,
Issue : Bluetooth isnt working as I expect it.. ...
Phone Make/Model : HTC One V, GSM, UK Version
Rom : CM9RC3
Kernel :titanium Kiss , tk_usb_cm9_201209091500.img
Have paired a plantronics PLT510 bluetooth headset with the phone, perfectly fine and phone audio is "ticked" in Pairing option
Dialing out
Stock ROM
- if i make a call with the phone using the stock Rom, then as soon as I press dial, a bluetooth connection is created and I hear the ringing tone in my Bluetooth headset..when I disconnect it also disconnects
CM9
- Whilst dialing, if i select (bluetooth from second icon), it still doesn't connect
- The only way I can make it work, is to hold the call button on the headset pressed AFTER Ive hit send/dial on the phone, then voice is transferred to Bluetooth
Receiving a call
- Stock rom, as soon as a call comes in , it connects by default to the headset
- CM9
- Voice stays with handset
- Whilst phone is ringing
- If I press and hold the call button on the headset it will hang up the call (Correct behaviour I think)
- If I press once the call button on the headset, it will answer the call, but voice is still on the handset
- If I press the second icon to select bluetooth on the phone , still nothing happens
- If I answer phone (either by BT call button) or handset, then HOLD the BT Call button on the headset, then voice streaming works......
Currently I have to answer the call using the handset, then press & hold the BT Call button for the call to be transfered to the headset.. delay of approx 5 seconds...
Once the connection is made, the quality is good, clear and consistent...
hope this is clear
Any comments? Im wondering if I flashed the kernel correctly...
y dont u just flash the kernel again, and flash the ROM too, then see if the problem persists, its hardly a 30 sec process

[Q] Headset double tap starts call

Hi all,
I own a jays one+. This headset has a remote. Since I upgraded to Jelly Bean (ordroid 10 atm) double tapping the remote always starts a call. The last dailed to be specific. I use the free app from jays to control the remotehttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.jays.headsetcontrol&hl=nl. But the double tap just overrides every command.
Any suggestions?
seems to be a HTC Sense problem..
thank you Christoph from Headset Button Controller
2 other users (One x+) already reported the same issue. It is not a general Jelly Bean issue - only the Jelly Bean verison of HTC (Sense). This double press -> redial logic is coming from HTC.
I guess there is no option in the HTC settings to disable this? If the outgoing call history is empty HTC cannot redial and therefore simple does nothing => if the call log is empty everything is working like expected
A workaround would be to find some app which automtically clears the call log (outgoing) if you don´t need it. But apart from this, I have no clue how to prevent HTC Sense to behave like this.
