I see on pac man rom the weather theme is actually a picture and the weather on liquidsmooth and cm10 is a drawing...it's there anyway to change that since they are both asop?I don't want a third party lockscreen..

You could get a apk manager and extract both framework-res.apk's (or systemui, I forget) and swap the two weather images. Then zip them up again. If you need more info just post again.

I've actually changed framework by pushing files into the apk from winrar...like top bar icons...then overwriting the file on my phone with root explorer and reboot...would that work with this? And what files do I need to change....?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I just opened the pac framework and there are 2 weather files....weather_00-47.png
And weather_aokp_00-47.png
The 1st one looks like the drawing and the 2nd one looks like the one I want...
So I should rename the 2nd ones to the names of the 1st ones and then push them into the framework and then send the file to my phone right?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
ok it worked!!!!! for all those who want the aokp lockscreen weather images on liquidsmooth here is the edited framework
THIS IS FOR LIQUIDSMOOTH RC9 ONLY
i dont know what it would do to the others
make a backup just in case
Here is a pic...see the weather is not a drawing anymore...

I'm pretty sure it is a TW calender.....are you running a TW rom? I'm guessing not because you'd probably have that calender already. If you are running AOSP I don't believe you can get that calender to work.

It has to be installed as a system app.
Guess I'll have to search how to do that. I've tried pushing that file to my system app file with es explorer but no luck on it working

I'm finding a lot of apps I liked aren't working. or won't install. Not sure if blazer 1.7 is tw but that'd be a good reason
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
It must be something else, cuz when I was rooted stock I couldn't install any app, not even thru ADB, hopefully someone knows the issue.
I gave up on it. But with paranoid you can change the layout of each app. I changed it to 600px and now its big and looks just like the one I was trying to get.. so it works out in my scenario

Once again Blazer is TW, Paranoid would be AOSP. So I don't think you can get that calender app working on there.....
Touchwiz apps will not work on AOSP ROMS without tweaking. Touchwiz has its own framework required to run its apps. If you are trying to install this on a touchwiz rom, use rootexplorer, copy the app, move to /system/app, mount as "rw" and install, then long press the app, change permissions to rw,r,r
I am currently running RootBox as my daily driver. Stock Android is truly amazing, only thing I missed from Touchwiz was the native gif support for the gallery. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the gallery app? Or a really good alternative to the native gallery app with gif support?
Thanks a bunch!

Well bad news is, Since Rootbox is AOSP/CM based, the Gallery App from Touchwiz will never run properly on it. I am looking for other Gallery Apps that do have native gif support.
I cant seem to find anything. That would be something awesome for a developer to create.

I cant see it being this simple but can you copy apks from one roms to another?
For example....if I copyed the samsung keyboard apk or wallpaper apk from one rom and then flashed another rom and placed the apk file in the system apk folder using root browser

It will installed as long as cm10.1 to cm10.1 but not on aosp rom but some cm10.1 to aosp (except all TW apk's are not working) and also those system.apk like sytemui.apk, settings.apk and framework-res.apk etc. and other apk's that developers of the rom had modified it.
So I cant take the samsung keyboard apk and copy it to an aosp rom and use it

Above answer was specific to roms. As long as framework used is same/similar its possible.
Custom roms themselves an example. Portability of app depends on libraries.

They are images in framework-res. What you'll want to do is pull the images from framework-res/res/drawable_xhdpi. They're called keyguard_ lockscreen_time. Recolor the images then use something like xplore file explorer from play store to put the images back in framework-res

Make sure you delete the odex file with the same name also. Then look in the widget app drawer and it should be there.
