Jelly Bean voice search - HTC One X

Hi everyone, I just updated my phone to jelly bean and overall I'm quite happy.
But whenever I try voice search in Google Now it brings me straight to the browser. I've seen videos where the questions are answered in Google Now itself.
Can someone help me with this? The language on my phone is Dutch, but even when I put it in English it still brings me to the browser.

You might have to get "Voice Search" from the play store before this will work for you.

Download the Google Search, enable google now and enable cards that you want.
Regards

I already did that. My phone asked me to download it right after the update. I have Google Now and it's cards, I can do a voice search but it just analyses my words and looks it literally up on Google...

I had same problem - In order for google now to function properly, you need to have set up the system language and voice language to english.
Kind of sucks - But thats the only way i could get it working.
Try downloading MoreLocale from play store and set system language to English US and then in google now set voice language to English US

Thanks, that worked. only a shame that it only works in English... You guys think they might add other languages soon ?

Please help. The default voice stinks.
Loquendo TTS Susan is MUCH better than the default voice... (In the market, 4.99 euros).
I find the included British voice to be much more pleasant.

on my Incredible (2.2 leaked) it doesn't have the option, it only has either English or Spanish.
Would be nice to install some better voices like Garmin and TomTom have
the robotic voice on Google Navigation is kinda annoying. . .

An article I read a couple days ago said that Now requires you to adb push a couple files over. After that it was supposedly mostly functional.

Post Google Voice?
I know it runs on ICS, I been running it on mine for the last couple of weeks now, installed it via the marketplace, didn't have to do anything besides install it.
It works pretty seamlessly too, text messages/voicemail-transcripts go right to my messaging app, and the voicemail configuration works too (missed calls going to google voice instead of the carriers). And can send/receive text messages thru it as well, and did try calling out of google voice twice.
The OP probably means the new Google voice search that's part of Now, I'm assuming. There's an apk on the SGSII thread that's somewhat functional but I got a parse error trying to install on my G2. Also the voice search doesn't work.

It is a bit buggy but everything works for the most part except voice. The development is moving fast though so hopefully we will have something fully functional soon.

Try this, go to Settings,Language and Input. Then make sure Language is "English (United kingdom) and "Voice Search" under Speech option is set to English UK. Hope that'll resolve the issue

Untick search from google.com. its somewhere in the google now settings. You can keep the language to US to get a better voice and results
Edit: its under Privacy and Accounts

My google now changed voice from a chick into a guy?

Anybody else's Google now voice. Changed?
I haven't messed with any settings or anything like that but my Google now voice is all of a sudden a guy instead of my sexy speaking assistant.
I'm in UK.
Is there a way to get the woman's voice back. I don't want a dudes voice lol

have you tried playing with settings-language and input- text to speech ?
Change language to English U.S.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Go to settings>language & input >text to speech output>settings>language > U.S.
DONE. Enjoy your phone with a girl voice.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
I want the opposite.. I really want my google now voice to have a posh british accent, but I'm stuck with the plain old american lady.
I tried language & input > text-to-speech output > google text-to-speech engine settings > language to UK, but it's still the same broad.
I tried changing the language in the google now settings itself with disastrous results.. with it set to UK English, the phone just flat out could not understand me AND it was still the lady voice.
Google now is America only, which sucks *ss. No speech for other countries.

[Q] Offline Speech Recognition

Hi all,
Is there any way of setting up offline speech recognition on the One V? I am using Pacman, and the option to download the pack is not on Google Now's menu as it should be.
There's no need to "download" the voice recognition pack. You just need jellybean, voila! You have offline voice recognition. Just tap the mic button on the keyboard and you are good to go...
