Anyone know of any handy apps that can toggle wifi calling on/off? i used to have one on my sensation(stock) and was handy because i didn't need to go through my options as i do now.

Battery life is much more dependent on the kernel used as opposed to the ROM when it comes to modified stock roms. I would assume using the same kernel would lead to similar battery life - that's been my experience anyway.

I don't necessarily recommend any kernel as it all depends on what you are after out of your phone, but lately I've had plain ole UVBMD1 unaltered stock kernel actually. No complaints given how I use it/what I need.

Anyone got any recommendations for a good 3G Hotspot app? Don't care if it requires the tethering plan from the carrier or not, since work pays for it anyway.
Any clue if this one has the low incall volume that the other aosp Roms seem to all have? I love a nice clean gb that has been the only thing holding me back from making them my dd

The WiFi Tether app listed there works for me once I apply the settings listed in the OP. I'm on unbloated gingersense though, you may not need those settings for it to work. I'd try it with the default settings first (those worked for me when I ran CM7) and tweak from there. You may have play around with it a bit.

I'm pretty sure this doesn't work. Rom Toolbox warns you that you can only change to the same type of charging icon when you try to use it. He wants to get rid of the % altogether and replace it with a solid battery icon.
Prove me wrong though. A lot of requests for this. Dunno why, I like it.
Might ask in the calk thread where most run the rom he probably has a zip to flash

Whenever I use the keyboard, typing is very slow. Text messages, web browsing, even typing this. It's driving me nuts. Running freegs3 fruity kernel. Also using go keyboard...never had issues with that though.

I had the same issue when i was running any version of Trinity kernel. For some reason, Trinity did not like my phone. Once I switched to Faux 008, everything was smooth as butter with awesome battery life.
I'm on Fregs3 with whatever kernel it comes with and no issue with Go keyboard

When using Trinity set the governor to Performance. Battery life is up to par with the On Demand gov. After that, enjoy smooth keyboard.

Rom without kernel? Thats new to me. They should all come with kernels whether its stock or modified.
This is a completely stock Sprint Official JB LJ7 port. This is pretty much just a copy of my thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33285365#post33285365
The base is based off Freeza's release http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1910947
Features
Deodexed
rooted
busybox
Stock Kernel by Ktoonsez so be sure to thank him! Without him this wouldn't be possible(The rotation was flipped with the stock sprint kernel) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756776
What doesn't work(so far):
tethering
exFat sd support (for now)
Change Log:
10/29/2012:
fixed wifi not connecting
added modified mms which should fix sending/receiving issues some were having
10/28/2012:
Added ril libs from tmo leak to fix international calling issue and intermittent no incoming call issue
kept everything stock (all apps etc.) just removed the the sprint specific apps
Download Link: http://d-h.st/7ji
Flash this zip right after you flash the rom. Since this is basically the version I posted in the ATT forum this zip will change the build.prop to show T999 instead of i747 http://d-h.st/loh Everything will work without flashing the zip but your phone will be identified as a i747 not a t999]
Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you flash this and your device gets bricked or anything happens to your device from flashing this.
Devs: Feel free to use this as your base
reserved for me...
I'll take this one too

Some users reported in my ATT thread they were having trouble with sending/receiving MMS messages
For anyone with issues with MMS. Try this apk. It's the modified one from my BJ rom, but with the theming removed
http://d-h.st/Fam
Before anyone asks, It's just the apk, it's not a flashable zip.

I'll have a fix for that. It was my absentmindedness that forgot to update the libs when I updated the rom today. there is a short term way to fix it(if you prefer the stock kernel) until I can upload a updated one with the correct libs. You can flash ktoonsez's custom kernel and it will fix the wifi as it has the correct libs. I'll be able to upload a fix later (as long as I still have power if the storm is as bad as they say it's going to be)

I actually kinda like it, Because you can hold it one handed if you need to zoom in. It's useful on the nyc subway when you're holding a handrail and reading through things when I can only use one hand. but yeah, there should be an option to turn it off

It needs specific kernels to work correctly. Almost every kernel I flashed for my sgs2 worked. I've waited patiently for devs to catch up but it doesn't work in kernel mode.
I'm currently on infamous v8 with there BioShock kernel I believe.
Thanks.

You can activate the native call recording feature of the TW dialer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344674
No need to use a 3rd party app or mess with the kernel.
Those just record in speaker and bit very well in my experience. Or is it something new?

I think it's a full fledged kernel based recorder. I've never used it so I can't describe quality.

You can also use the volume mod tweak that's in that thread to enable call recording for call recorder app. I personally love the call recorder app, much better quality and more options in my opinion.

It's either kernel or software (if you're talking about the call recorder app) you can choose which method to use however we can only use the software method.
