I went the simplest route and installed handcent, and disable original sms (not required but last time I removed it was lazy this time around)has full emoji support with any key board you choose

I feel ya.samsung should just incorporate it to the native message app

Chompsms also works if you prefer a better looking SMS compared to handcent.

You can use 3 third party apps, go sms , handcent, and others that all support emoji

You can also try a custom ROM. I don't know how many of them have it, but it is built in to the native messaging app on Task's AOKP.

[REQ]Aokp sms

I had to revert to stock ics because all the ics roms didn't seen to fully work 100%. My question was is there anyway someone can make the aokp SMS an actual app? Because with the emoji and the actual ics look I loved it. So with permission from whitehawkx if some one could do that this would be awesome.

n00b lol. it's there to allow you to change what keyboard you're using. if you know you specifically want to use one and never change it then disable the rest of them in language and input under settings and it'll disappear.

It's part of ICS. Was a little odd to see at first, but a handy way of switching keyboards. I suggest you get used to it cause future versions might still have this as part of the OS.

Just search the threads for how to root your phone. Its easy takes about 10-15 minutes not even. Then after you have root, download the app from the play store and uninstall anything you want, just be careful not to uninstall the wrong thing.

Nodded stock messaging app??

Is there. Someone who can mod the stock TW messaging app to have pop up reply and reply from notification like on CM 10+?? That feature is great for replying without leaving what you are currently doing and saves a lot of time. I know it can be done with third party apps.... But I Dont want to download another messaging app. Please and thanks!

Perhaps he means for you to search for a capable app. I found this one. Seems to do what you're asking for and doesn't replace the use of the stock message app.

Agreed.. group message is the biggest fail... you can send the first one out to many... but then can't continue with just a single person. Epic failage
guess it depends which messaging app you're using, the method i suggested pertains to the aosp messaging app.

I think he's being sarcastic. Basically, group sms doesn't actually work natively in 4.1.2. It's something Google added in 4.2.2
