Because it is with european firmware is it possible for me to change the european firmware and replace it with the firmware available for my present country will this help to claim warranty in my country.

As long as you haven't unlocked your bootloader, you can take the phone to the warranty with whatever software region it is using.

[Q] Japan Arc no unlock key screen

I had bought a Japan ARC [SO-01], unfortunately, I bought it b4 1 April, so i cannot get unlocked by docomo and also I'm not in japan now...
I think the unlock code from some provider also work but the problem is that, my phone will not prompt any unlock key insert screen, please help :"(
All Docomo phones sold before and after April 1st still come carrier-locked. The only difference is that starting April 1st, you can now take your handset into Docomo, pay ¥3150, and get your phone unlocked -- even if you bought your phone before April 1st.
You will have to go into a Docomo store, however. If your phone is still carrier-locked (to Docomo), your best shot is to find someone in Japan who can do it for you. Perhaps you can contact the seller and arrange the unlock for some fee.

thanks for confirming this info , i have ordered a docomo xperia arc so that i can use it in the usa , but people have been doubting that it can be unlocked because it was released on March 24th.
the Lt15a(America version) and the Docomo SO-01c are hte same and that is why i ordered from japan
this website has the unlock for xperia arc
http://www.gsmliberty.net/shop/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-x12-unlock-codes-p-3329.html
Although they say "They can do" but actually they cannot do, because nobody can find entry screen for unlock code. I bought UNLOCK code from them but cannot do this.

Subject: xperia arc
Can you unlock the japanese xperia arc ?
its the Docomo SO-01c
Basically Docomo says this model cannot be UNLOCKED and this has to keep specified ROM.
But finally I could UNLOCK by flashing global ROM and after completing ROM flashing, unlock screen appeared. Therefore I could enter unlock code successfully!
But the key thing is that this cannot be returned to original ROM which is provided from Docomo, so now this is UK or Chinese (HKG) version (LT-15i).
And slightly Japanese font is different from original font style, probably this is Chinese KANJI, I guess.
You can return it to DoCoMo firmware. You just need somebody to update their DoCoMo arc and send you the firmware files.

Sure, the box says exactly this: "GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSPA Bands 1/2/5/6" The UMTS/HSPA bands are 2100/1900/850/800.
You need someone with DoCoMo firmware to update their phone. If they then pack the 'db' folder from SEUS and upload it, I will be able to make an .ftf file for flashtool.

Hi,
Usually I am in Japan but this month I have to stay in France. If I get a Xperia arc european version here and then take it to Japan with me.
Will it be possible to use it in Japan? Does the european version support the japanese network?
Will it be possible to flash the docomo firmware to use sp mode?
Thanks

No, you can not get the European version, the LT15i, for use on DoCoMo. I'm unsure of Softbank.
Arg. Too bad. Thanks for the quick reply.

I think that any japan arc, could be flashed anywhere with an european version software (ie: unlocked LT15i flash rom). The phone will result with the european firmware, but it will support american and japanese networks.
I did that with my C905, its model is "C905a", but I flashed it whit the C905i firmware because of different spanish text from Europa. I use 3G in chile with no prob.
SO, can't this be done to a Japanese Xperia arc?

UK version

why not
why not the new FW with android 2.3.4?
1) If you ask for a particular firmware, it's because of warranty reasons.
2) This doesn't belong here and it's been reported.
I have problems with TRACKID .. when i launch it an error popups: Please try it again later!
Have you unlocked the bootloader?
Get SoundCloud or SoundHound.Works better TBH
yes but i relock the bootloader .. and trackid doesnt work

It's not supposed to. Once you unlock your bootloader with the official method, you can't have your DRM certificates back. Without them, trackID won't work. Thus, you won't have trackID back to work ever again.
But at the original O2 UK Firmware 2.3.3 TackID works perfectly. No Error. Why not in 2.3.4 O2 DE?

Yes, you can install stock rom without any problems.
And where can I get it? the links I saw in a different thread are all broken...
If anyone who has the Rom could host it somewhere I would appreciate it

You can use flashtool programm you will find the firmware in the thread just search it and flash whatever firmware you want you can't update via ota/pc if bootloader is unlock(first you must locked again) or if you change something from /system
i hope i help you.
Thing is I dont have the fw I want, only have custom roms, and all the links are broken (they were from multiupload), so I would like someone to upload them again.
Thank you all for your help

Thanks guys, that worked perfectly.
One last question is Waton server always updated? I mean do they supply all the new roms? ICS is coming out soon for the xperia arc s
I have wiped all my system & dont have backup.
I Have Xperia Arc S LT18i
SI 1254-9037
But could not find the exact firmware sor SI 1254-9037 (this is Saudi Arabia sales item)
I found below ones to download, whic one will be proper for Turkey? And will it be a problem to flash?
4.1.B.0.587
Generic Trade Central Europe 1 (4.0.4) (1254-2716)
or
4.1.B.0.431
Generic Trade Turkey (4.0.4) (1254-2233)
Central Europe is made up of the following.....
Germany
Poland
Czech Republic
Slovakia
Switzerland
Austria
Slovenia
Hungary
But it will work on your device (its the update to 4.1.B.0.431)
If you want your fone back to original then stick with the Generic Trade Turkey file as Im not sure if you've had the update over there yet
Thank you wolf_b
indeed, this phone comes from Saudi Arabia
SI 1254-9037 (this is Saudi Arabia sales item) But also have Turkish language option.
But I couldnt find anything original about it, neither gingerbrea nor ICS.
So I just want to be sure, if anything negative will be happen if I flash a different SI distribution.
This is the question: If no problem, I downloaded Generic Trade Central Europe 1 (4.0.4) (1254-2716),
this is the latest ICS update of Sony. I guess it will also have Turkish Option!
What do you suggest?

VIVO Xperia ZQ original rom

Good morning guys, needed help from someone. I recently bought a Xperia ZQ and it came with the rom operator VIVO. As soon as I picked up the phone rom swapped it for a newer one without the junk VIVO. However, there was an unexpected and very need to return the device and get the money back. I'm afraid that the return is not accepted to be with a rom different from the original. Please could someone post the original VIVO rom ? I searched many places, but have not found. Really need the money, I would be most grateful if someone could do that for me.
Sorry for my english.
Thanks
Download Sony update service in the link below and update your phone, i don't know if it will download the vivo Firmware, but at least you'll be using a firmware downloaded via a sony tool, so i guess they won't be able to complain.

[Q] How to return to original "SI number" firmware?

My XPS is 1257-6713. I assume this is the number that means no brand italian version of the XPS.
I was wondering, how to return to the stock firmware that has the same number as my device? Is there any easy way to do it?

I'm locked and I never unlocked. Anyway, I did that many times, if I have the generic world firmware on and then repair, I will get a repaired generic world firmware, I won't get the italian firmware.
Sorry, I confused SUS with SPCC. So if I repair with SUS I will get the original firmware? Will try tomorrow and report back.

It's probably not a big deal but I think there is a reason why they put those codes in there. Maybe there are small hardware differences between different SI numbers, I don't know. Maybe that's what's causing those weird bugs on JB for people who updated using flashtool? I remember hearing back when I had the Ray that this was the case, but maybe I heard wrong.
Anyway, the main reason why I wanted to be able to do this was because I'm considering selling the phone, and wanted to know how to return it to it's original stock firmware version.

I dont think it is related to the region
and seems Xperia S only have two version in hardware
The Japanese version known as Sony Ericson Xperia NX (which dont have NFC function) and the LT26i we are using
those jellybean bugs are universal too
actually, those people use flashtool are usually becoz the jellybean firmware are not yet released in their country so they can only be obtained with flashing the ftf file in flashtool

I used the flashtool as well as the official JB hasn't released here yet, apparently for Sony Italy doesn't exist, and if it does, it comes after freaking third world countries.
Anyway, what's the point of the SI number then, if all the XS phones are identical?

lol I know that feel bro, those update usually release first in America and Europe. Italy are not supposed to be the slowest one.
(Well, some says Hong Kong (where I'm from) is supposed to be one of the slowest, but seems not really true in major update.)
I think different SI number of a rom indicate which input languages it provide in the Xperia keyboard is the main thing.
For example, they dont think u need to type Chinese in Italy, so u may not find the Chinese keyboard in your rom.
And i just flash a .211 recently, which i dont know where region it is for. This rom is lack of the Chinese keyboard. I could only flash it myself with recovery.
Maybe not just language thing all the time, some more stock settings that may suit you a bit more.
BTW, not all XS are identical. When it just release in 2012, Xperia S is known to have the yellow screen problem. (When the device overheat, the screen will show yellow patches in some part. This is a minor hardware failure) But sony offer free repair for those devices then, which replace it with a better screen. We can assume that all repaired XS and newer XS are identical now.
