Is there a way to access Google now while locked? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I basically want to access Google now while my phone is locked, in my pocket with the headset button (like holding the headset button).
Thanks in advance

You could perhaps try a tasker action, but I don't know if BT press is monitored by tasker while locked. Worth a try.

Sorry let me rephrase I don't mean with BT I mean with headphone controls

Toggle Handfree on/off during call w/o turning BT off

I am using an 8125 with Slide2Unlock and the Iphone dialer pad. Even with the standard dialer phone pad, if I want to stop using the headset during a call I must use the menu button at the bottom and select "Turn Hands-free off".. There are times that I do not want to use my BT headset or vehicle hands free unit. I would like to know if anyone had extracted that command and if it could be placed on the "in call" dialer skin as a hot button, like hold or mute, without having to go through the menu to access it. I don't need anything fancy that toggles the bluetooth on/off, in fact I would like to leave that unaffected. Simply a command that shortens the finger strokes of going through the in call menu and setting the handfree status.
Thanks in advance to brain tank.....
Does anybody have any ideas????? Please would really like an app like this....
Please Please...really want an app like this but I have no idea how to make one.
Thanks
have you tried holding down the green call button whilst in a call? Works on my SPV M1000 to turn speaker phone on....
A
Speaker phone is not my issue, I want to toggle between Headset and Handset while in a call. Like pressing menu/Handfree off.

I tested a today plug-in which did it, unfortunately I don't remember the name. AFAIK it is the only software capable of doing it while in a call, so.... hope you'll find it

Tweak request- Mute button

Tweak request-
-Enabling the mute button on the back of the phone when you are on a BT headset or just using the handset so you don't have to mess with the screen.
-A step further: Allow you to remap the button during different situations.
Example-
While not on a call you could remap it to something like voice command or live search (or anything else you wanted)
I accidentally hit that button alot when talking with the phone held to my ear. Launching programs would be weird too as its on the back. I'm sure it can and will be done though.

I'm assuming that no one has come up with anything considering how old this thread is. I'm looking for the same exact thing. This would be great when using my hands-free car stereo that doesn't provide a mute button. Bump!
Either you guys haven't tried Rhodium Keyboard Controller yet, or that's not what you're looking for.
It lets you remap all hardware keys, including the mute button.

Two hacks wanted

Is it possible to wake the device with trackpad or any other button than the power button? I know it is achievable through custom lock screens etc, but there has to be a cleaner way to do it. Cyanogenmod has this option under settings...
Is there a hack to double press the mic button (play) button on the headphones to skip songs? I am using Apple headphones (play-stop button works).
Thanks
I found a solution for headphones control. bTunes and Meridian can be used just like iPod.app on iPhone. YAY
Just need to find how to wake my Desire without reaching for power button...
Download "No lock" from the market, which does what you want but disables the lock screen.
Thanks, I did find that and will use it if i don't find anything better...

Headset button function

Hi,
I use the headset button to control my music. From what I have figured out, one press pauses/plays music... two fast presses skips the track... I have tried this, and it works. But sometimes when I double tap the button, it starts ringing the last person I called Can I turn this off? This is really annoying, I seriously do not see why anyone would want this feature.
Iv'e tried one of those headset button apps, and wasn't very impressed, It only worked half of the time.
I mainly just want to stop the button calling people
Anyone any idea?
Thanks.
If you're using PowerAMP try turning on the 'High Priority' headset button handler. If that doesn't work or you have any other music player there's a free app called 'JAYS Headset Control' (works for any headset not just JAYS). Also has a lot of customisation you can do to your headset button actions .

Volume up headset triggers google assistant

Hi!
Sometimes I use my OnePlus Icons headset (metal headset, https://www.androidcentral.com/oneplus-icons-earbuds-review) with the phone, and when I push the volume up button it triggers the google assistant, which is very very annoying...
I tried some remapper apps but when I want to add the button, I push the button and it triggers the google assistant and the app doesn't manage to find the button.
Anyone got a solution to avoid the google assistant besides deactivating google assistant? Not even sure how to deactivate it so can't really test it and see if the remapper app works. An idea would be to deactivate it and check the logs to see if there is indeed a button, but when I check I can't see a button, just see :
mStatusBarWindow : com.android.systemui.statusbar.phone.StatusBarWindowViews{28ebb7dV.ED..... ....... 0,0-1440,171}canPanelBeCollapsed(): false
writeEvent dismiss_dialog volume_controller
So it seems like it's normal, that it closes the volume rocker and launches the google assistant window...
Thanks for your help!

I am using a Pixel 4a (running on Android 11) and I have the same problem when I use my SoundMagic E11C wired headset. When I press the volume up button on the headset, it triggers the Google Assistant instead of increasing the volume. The volume down button on the headset works perfectly. The play/pause headset button also works fine.
What is very weird is that this headset works fine on all the other phones that I have tried. I have an old SoundMagic E11C wired headset and it works fine my Pixel 4a. In other words, the particular combination of my new Pixel 4a and new SoundMagic E11C does not work. However, every other combination with these devices and the other devices/headsets that I have work fine.
I can't even pinpoint whether it is an issue on my phone or on my headset. I disabled Google Assistant for my headset and tried again. Still doesn't work. Volume up does not trigger any response if Google Assistant is disabled. It is almost as if the volume up button is hardwired exclusively for Google Assistant. Which is impossible.
I also checked the logs using logcat. When volume down is pressed, I see some logs that indicate that media volume has been decreased. However, when volume up is pressed, I don't see any logs related to volume.
I have no idea what the problem is. I can try replacing the headset, but I don't think that is gonna solve the issue.
Did you ever figure out what the problem was with your phone/headset?
