i upgraded to jelly bean but now when I have the sound profile on for notifications to make a noise, it also vibrates
so it makes a noise AND vibrates even though i turned my volume and notifications are supposed to give me sound
how do i make it sound only?

In the settings under sound there is a vibration intensity and you can lower it all the way for notifications if you wanted them to only make sound and not vibrate

Is it possible to enable a Silent mode using the volume rocker? I don't want to use a widget and I miss the feature from sense :/

Seconded and subscribed. I would love this too. My Evo 3D that I had for all of a day did this and it was super useful.

settings > Vibration > only when not in silent mode.
This will enable silent mode without any vibration... you can also use your volume rockers by turning it all the way down.
But then you can only switch between silent and vibrate plus sound, not silent, vibrate only, and vibrate plus sound.

There are two different sets of volume - ring and media.

Has this mod been released for the Epic Touch? Had this on my Epic 4g and really miss it.
I'd like to vibrate on phone calls only and not sms, other basic Samsung notifications. Is there an app, workaround to make this possible? The default settings don't offer this option. Stock sms app preferred, not gosmspro.
Thanks!

that makes perfect sense. -_-
thanks man
each app has its own settings for sound and vibrate
you can configure SMS to not vibrate
and keep phone only to vibrate
When I use my volume rocker on my flashlight app it pops up this instead of normal sound.
I just tried that too never noticed it before but with the light on and turning it to Max or min it seems to do nothing

The picture looks like it would be for haptic feedback or vibration.
If I'm understanding what you're asking correctly, what you're seeing is the extended audio control panel - you can adjust the sound levels of the four things shown (Ringer, in-call, media, and notifications) from that one panel.

If you mean the top rectangle with arcs radiating out of it, that's the system volume.
Go to settings-sound-volume; the different volumes (and their names) should be there.

The thing is tho.. I don't see it any other place.
Might be because I have keytones, touch sounds, and screenlock sound turned off.

meh it is not important.
I have the latest version of CM 10. The problem is, every time I hit the play button on my headset, my ring we goes up. Most of the time, I keep it on vibrate and this becomes a problem. Even if I put it on vibrate while I have the headphones plugged in, it still raises the volume. Is there any fix for this?

Fairly sure this is an option which is incorrectly set.
Check all the options in your music player and then all the options on CM10.
I believe PowerAmp has a whole section of options for how Headsets should behave for example.
I just had to disable beep on headset in PowerAmp and now it works good. I would never have expected it to be that!
Is there any way to change vibration intensity for notification?

Anybody else have their notification sound off as loud as possible even though the volume is adjusted down? The sample sounds right but when I get a real notification it's really loud.

I modded the lock sound and now it's super loud. The volume of the lock sound doesn't seem to change when changing the overall system volume.
