[Q] Flash Galaxy Note 2 from China with firmware from my country. - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm new to the forum and to the wonderful world of rooting, custom roms and such so bare with me if I ask something stupid.Okay well the title basically says it all, I have 2 Samsung Galaxy note II phones which my dad bought from china. When we turned then on the OS was completely in Chinese so without even thinking about it I downloaded the official firmware for our region and started flashing it onto 1 of the phones just like I did when we received a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. But now something was different, Odin claims that the flashing failed. So I did a little further googling a found out that the Chinese note II had a custom bootloader preventing me from installing firmware from a different region (link to source below). I really don't know what to do further from this point I restored to the Chinese firmware just so that the phone would still work, but it suck not having gmail and that kind of thing so if anybody know of a way to bypass this custom boot loader or some other solution I could try it would really be appreciated!

[Q] CSC issue with Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100

I once rooted my Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 and flashed it with custom ROM omega. And I've changed to Galaxy Note 3 GT-N900 after its released. I gave my note 2 to my gf. Before I gave to her, I did reset the binary and flashed it with official ROM. But at the end, I found that phone has been installed with the official stock ROM but still contained a wrong CSC code (I checked with samsung kies), although I flashed it with official ROM from my country (XSE Indonesia). I read so many articles talked about how to change CSC, but those need a root access. Unfortunately, this phone current firmware is android 4.3 with knox bootloader which means I will get a knox triggered if I re-root the phone. And indeed, I don't want the knox triggered is occurred as well. If anyone has an answer about how to change the CSC to my country region without triggering the knox, please let me know. I just wanna give this phone to my gf as closest as possible with factory made before, but with the newest official firmware for my country which contains correct CSC, too. I really appreciate if anyone help me. Thanks anyhow.

How do I get a GT-N5110 back to stock USA rom?

I can't seem to find the right rom. I find all these pages but USA isn't one of the roms on the list, what do I choose?
I sold my note on eBay and received it back after a "not as described" case and it looks like somebody attempted to put a different rom on it and failed. It just boots to the logo (Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-5110)
I would just like to get it back to what I originally had it as (whatever the latest OTA update was as of last month).
I appreciate it guys.

[Q] Live Demo Unit flashing/installing full os

Hi there guys,
long story short, i got Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 2014 (sm-p600xzwebtu) Live Demo Unit from work, which i believe is specifically manufactured for retail and comes with quite a lot of limitations, so i need to flash it and install either custom os (i was thinking cyanogenmod) or at least official android.
First of all, it does have developers mode, and it allows me to volume down+power to get it to "downloading os" screen, so i assume i should be able to flash it with odin, but before i do try, maybe someone has dealt with same problem before and has ready to go solution?
reason i am asking is that last year i got couple of Archos devices, those as well were made for retail demo, and they had hardware limitations on ability to flash roms

Yeah, you should have no problems. what i would personally do first is download the stock samsung firmware for consumer/non demo mode tablets and flash that. then just follow root procedures and all that.
I could be mistaken, but I don't believe that's an actual LDU device. LDUs usually have an X at the end of the model number (ie SM-N900X), and I've only seen LDU phones, never any LDU wifi-only tablets. BTU is the region code for the UK, you probably just have a normal UK tablet with retail mode software on it. The hardware and firmware on the device are no different than a retail UK device, but it's running a special Samsung Retail Mode that restricts a lot of functions.
If you know the proper passwords, you should be able to remove the retail mode. Flashing a stock firmware might not work, as the retail mode software is a user app and NOT part of the device's firmware (unless you DO have an LDU, but based on the model number I don't believe that's the case), but it's worth a try. A factory reset would remove the retail mode, but some of the newer retail mode software prevents you from doing that.

Galaxy Note 8 , SGH-i467 (ATT)solution for 4.4.2 recovery?

Hello,
So I have the 4.4.2 Galaxy Note sgh-i467, it is stuck in the recovery mode,
I've been trying for some time already to contact Samsung to have some help with the device no luck, they ask me to go to USA or ship it to them for the fix. I have tried a few methods I found here on the forums but no luck with them also, maybe I missed something, basically my question is : was someone able to recover from 4.4.2 to a working tablet ?

I had the same problem and tried Kies and Odin as nothing else seemed apparent. Kies 2.6 would download the 4.4.2 update and show almost finished on the green bar indicator in download mode then Kies would freeze up on my Windows 7 computer and I'd have to end task on it and restart the tablet. There doesn't seem to be a KitKat ROM on sammobile or anywhere else I could find. I did find a thread in the development forum that I've since lost where a senior XDA developer had indicated he'd put in a request with Samsung's executive level of support to get a copy of the 4.4.2 ROM. I tried using Odin to flash the JellyBean image from sammobile, but that's what had caused my table to get stuck in recovery mode in the first place, so it didn't work. I've flashed plenty of ROMs on my GS4, so I'm no stranger to Odin but you seemingly can't go back to JB from KK thanks to the locked bootloader that comes along with it.
I was lucky in that I'm in the U.S. and could bring the Note 8 to my local Best Buy's Samsung Experience kiosk. After my fourth visit to the third Best Buy, I finally found a guy who reloaded the Note 8.0 with the 4.4.2 ROM. It's back up and running now with the stock 4.4.2 ROM.
Charcaroth I wish I could hit that thanks button a hundred times. The Samsung Experience Center @ Best Buy fixed my Note 8.0 that was hopeless just as you said.
Thanks for going above & beyond with your help via private message!

SGH-M919V - Help

Hi hope everyone is doing well, although I am pretty old member and experienced in rooting stuff - I am stuck at a point this is my Samsung device and I am not sure what to do - my friend bought me this phone which probably looks like SGH-M919V and it looks like a Canadian variant which also is carrier unlocked.
I am stuck on Android 4.3 and countless times I saw the update happening but failing at the 25% after rebooting and sometimes got error of the status of the phone that is 'custom'
Now I am willing to flash it to stock firmware through an articlehonai-android.blogspot . com/2014/03/how-to-update-galaxy-s4-canadian-sgh-m919v.html
Though I read a warning " The Android 4.4.2 VLUFNB5 KitKat firmware is compatible only with the Canadian version of Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337M). Applying this to any incorrect variant might brick the device. Verify the model number of the Galaxy S4 by navigating to Settings >> About Phone."
and have four different firmwares of different carrier's like Moblicity, Wind Mobile, East Link Videotron.
I am thinking to flash the stock but I am perplexed that using either of the firmware would brick my phone? and I can't find a away to find out which carrier i belong to.
the model number says SGH-M919V and Buildnumber is JSS15J.M919VVLUEMK5
I am looking for little help regarding this, it will be helpful if anyone chips in anything that is useful
