Calendar question - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I also have the SGS3 on T-Mobile, Love it, Just received my Note 2 about one hour ago. Setting up my phone I went into the Calendar app and could not find where I can turn on the Holidays to be seen on my Calendar. In my SGS3 I have a setting that says US Holidays in one of my G-Mail Calendars.
What am I missing, can anyone point me in the right direction??
Thank You,
Vinny

Go to messaging and click setup email, give it your account details Email\Password - next 'should auto find for the accounts u have' then follow the screens one will say how often u want to download under that in advanced is how may days of emails to download i set as today, then when finished you just download the email.
Same for all accounts.
Hope this helps.
and this is all done on the phone. Not through outlook and activesync, correct?

Birthdays

I have noticed that when I view Birthday information for my contacts via "People", this birthday data comes from Facebook btw - that all of the Birthdays are off by 1 day when I compare it to birthdays listed in the Facebook application.
Anyone else having this issue!?!?
I have not had this issue . So sorry can't really help .
I would try going on HTC Sense Facebook account and remove the account if you are still having issues.
Noticed it with my Exchange accounts.. Although, now that you mention it, maybe it is FB that's showing it..

I can tell it is FB for me because when I click on a contact in People and scroll down to Information, where the Birthday is shown it has a little FB icon way to the right.
But very strange - exactly one day less than actual Birthday data in FB.
I can confirm this as well.
Posted from my Droid Incredible 2
I am seeing the same exact thing. The Facebook birthdays are all 1 day early. Exchange synced birthdays are correct.
Good to know I'm not the only one with this issue. It sucks cause when I show off to my friends how integrated it all is to their Facebook/Twitter, the first thing they'll say is, "Umm, why is my birthday wrong?".
Hopefully we'll see a fix soon.
Mine all integrated into the calendar correctly

Everything seems to be fine in the actual calendar app, but not when you view it under "People" (Contacts).
Hmmmm, all of mine are correct in there as well....

[solved] Sharing calendar dates

Is there an app or a way to sync calendars between two phones? Me and my GF would like to sync appointments between both phones automatically instead of having to text each other then add the appointment. It would be very convenient to have something like that.
My wife just has my google account on her phone. We share apps I buy and calendar entries are synced between the two. She just has it set to not sync my email.

I didn't know you could do that, but I don't want her having access to my accounts like that.
So then make a new Google account that you only use between you and her and have it only sync the calendar. That's the beauty of being able to have multiple Google accounts on the same device. Just make sure if you ever wipe/restore, that you don't enter that account back in first or else it becomes your primary account on the phone and makes it impossible (AFAIK) to remove the account from the phone without restoring again.

I can see your issue. Being married we simply don't have anything to keep away from each other. However if I were just dating I wouldn't do it.

Jelly Bean and Exchange Calendar - not working

Hi,
Since I upgraded to Jelly Bean, I can't get the stock calendar app to sync with my exchange account... It did work just fine with ICS 4.0.4 stock calendar, as well as with Touchdown. With JB, I have not been able to get it working with stock calendar... but it does work with Touchdown.
Under settings in the calendar stock app, I see the following entries:
- General settings
- my exchange account
- my gmail account
- About Calendar
When I click on the exchange account, it says " no calendar".
I thought it might have been an issue with the way I restored the account from TB. I restarted from scratch, same problem. Did several factory resets, same. Thought it could have been a bad flash, now I have flashed 4.1.1 and still the exact same problem...
I really don't see anymore what can be causing this. It is my only problem with JB which otherwise is just great...
Any suggestion on where the problem could come from?
Thank you.
Ah, strange. I just thought that I'd acticate "automatic push" mode, and guess what, my calendar items showed up in the stock calendar app...
I have always had my exchange account configured to manual (I want to decide when I see my work email) but this never did have an effect on calendar sync... Very strange.
I leave the topic here in case someone would have the same problem...
Thanks for that, been annoying me all day. Works a treat

Thanks for finding that solution. I tried several things last night and couldn't get it working. I was running ICS on my Rezound without that issue but I'm guessing it was due to Sense. I'm not a fan of automatic push but my exchange calendar is important.
two methods.
one: use exchang mail dirctly with out gmail.
then: use a google account and calender is automatically sync after that

I think that activating push was the way for the calendar to start syncing but then I went back to manual only for what I think is the email setting of Exchange account, and I have calendar syncing fine, while emails are fetched only when I explicitly ask. To me the activation of push was only a trigger, that I was able to undo later on...
That worked for me as well.

You're right had to activate push and there it is :good: thanks i was wondering what it didnt work no more.
setting to push worked for me too - seems really stupid, but it worked.
like others I don't like to have push on. Has anyone turned it off now and have new appointments show up?

Absolutly. This is what I did in the first place : Turn it on first, got the sync to work, then turn it off and voila, it works fine, as you expect.

Great to hear. Thanks.
My agenda is not syncing all items, strange ... It seems to be depending on the category. Before Jellybean all was fine, but now I am missing appointments from my corporate agenda, really strange. Anybody the same issue ? My phone has always been on push.

I've been helping my Dad with his T-Mobile Galaxy SII on AOKP JB Milestone, he's having the same issue right now with his Exchange Calendar not showing all appointments. Push has always been enabled. However it only shows random items from his Calendar, not all the items. I've wiped the device, reflashed, set up the Exchange account before the Google account, nothing seems to fix it. Only a few items from the Exchange Calendar show up.....
I've been searching on this issue it feels like forever now and your post is the closest I've found to the issue lol
Thanks for this! I was frustrated because the Google Calendar sync doesn't sync everything for some reason, but then I couldn't get the exchange calendar to sync. I switched to push, set up to display the calendar, and switched back to manual sync.
We'll see how it goes.
So I can also confirm the calendar continues to sync after setting sync back to manual.
I got a new calendar entry that synced and also edited another and those changes are also on my phone.
I still have problems to sync my exchange agenda with HTC desire HD, try all the suggestion meantion here.
Somebody a other suggestion.
I have no issues with ICS
Thanks
Willemans
Nitrodesk Touchdown works fine with JB...
Thanks,
works like a charme

Please go star this item and comment about how you can't get it to reproduce
1) add exchange account, but set sync to "manual"
2) go to Mail and download all your mail ("sync")
3) Go to Calendar and see that you can't add your Exhchange calendar as a possible calendar
4) go back and set your Exchange settings to "push"
5) go back to calendar and see your Exhange calendar has appeared

Forwarding events from S Planner. Gmail?

Ok, so I have been trying to forward some events in S planner but it wants me to setup my gmail in a different email app. I suppose there is no way to forward events just using gmail without doing this. Ive searched for about the last 4 hours and can not find any info. I just do not want to have my emails going through 2 different apps. Any good advice?
bump
I'm having the same issue. Essentially S Planner default to the "Email" app rather than the "Gmail" app - this is quite annoying given that my S Planner syns to my Gmail Calendar.
Does anybody know how to change the default Email? Maybe somewhere in general settings?
Using the Galaxy Note 2 and would like to know as well. If anything we can just set up our google accounts with the email app and just turn off notifications for it. But it does suck to have your gmail account being synced with two different email clients.
Same issue
