Ok well I just flashed this Rom and i tried syncing my gmail and i get to the screen after it retrieves my info and I tried with the first box checked (Use secure connection) and I have tried with both boxes checked or with both unchecked etc and i get the same error all the time. "Setup could not finish" and it says Unable to open Connection to server. now i am connected to 3g and i have tried Via WI FI to sync my gmail and still nadda any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! I was wondering if anyone knows of a fix!!!

This problem bugs me for a while now as it seems I'm not able to download any attachments while using gmail app.
It seems to start d/l'ing but it stops usually at 16 or 17% then it won't donwload anymore and after couple minutes it says download of the attachment failed.
The only exception where the gmail app succeed is when I'm connected to a wireless network.
Any settings I'm missing ?
I'm using ICS 4.0.2, I9250XXKL1 baseband, MDC ROM ir10
last night I was reading online comics and it suddenly not respond so I force it restart and it was worse. My kindle cannot recognize my touching.
It is strange that TWRP still works. Restoring doesn't helps, too.
So I wipe it all(except for sdcard) and install various cm9 and cm7 with corresponding kernels from hashcode with no luck. Cm9 is ok but without wifi. Cm7 just wont respond.
Also I tried using TWRP to go back to pure stock and wifi still not working. So I redo all the root, twrp again.
Finally I fix permissions and install cm7 aka now it's screen recognize my touching but the wifi still cannot be turned on.
Is it possible wifi chip has been broken?

now, as long as I open wifi it goes dead. I don't know what to do. Is it possible that due to heavy use the chip gets break down?
I was wondering what remains the same after I flash roms. Because installing zip has formatted boot, data and system.
I hard off the device when the wifi went wrong. And the application in which led to this situation cannot be reinstalled(install said OK but openning it the screen was black, still responding to button savior).
So maybe the problem lies in the internal storage that is unchangeable. Any one helps!? Or should I contact amazon CS?

But why the wifi still cannot be turned on? yes, it is when I using the app the wifi connection seems to be unstable, and I pressed the power button for 20 seconds.

would try to clean up the wifi configuration:
turn wifi off
look for /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
open the file and delete everything except the first two lines, they are:
ctrl_interface=tiwlan0
update_config=1

this is for stock rom - for cm7 it has to be simmilar
turn wifi on again

Thanks all the same.
I used root explorer to search for wap_supplicant.conf since it's not in that folder and delete everything except the first two lines. (forget to mention that my wifi just shows turning on and I can't do anything, flash new roms won't help.)
Then I reboot it the result remains same.......
did you try to restart your router ?
because i have this sometimes with the stock rom - wifi tries to connect and can't - all my other devices work fine - i use to reboot to router and the kf is connecting immediately again

I'm sure it has nothing to do with my router. because I live on campus and use school wifi. wifi is in the state of turning on since booting. regardless of flashing new roms.

just closing out all known issues ...
but nearly running out of ideas at this point
maybe something on your sdcard partition ? - i know it sounds crazy but i had a case where the fresh installed rom did not start until he copied the whole sdcard partition to computer as a backup and deleted everything (besides .android_secure and twrp folder)

I can only think of files remain unchangeable when flashing roms or wifi chip burned(hope not).
Anyway idea about the internal files with respect to wifi issues?
BTW, I didn't find the half installed app or any other files in data/app

no - sorry - maybe do a logcat and look for something that gives a hint in the right direction

actually I'm just a noob. I don't know how to do a logcat and how to find the problem.
as you can't download it from the market, attached here is a logcat program
install it and you'll see a lot of debug lines - be shure to make or let make the kf a wifi connection attempt - save the log and attach it as .txt file to the thread - i'll take a look if i can see something to track down your problem
the thing is the wifi is turning on by default. no matter what I do. do u mean use some app which needs wifi?

it seems like the wifi is still turning on so I just open catlog and wait a few seconds and save it.

im kinda curious if you find a fix. ive been struggling with terrible wifi connection with my kindle. itll turn on, but it constantly turns off then after a while wont connect anymore. just says obtaining wifi then doesnt connect just shows saved wifi connection. im almost to the point of giving it away. not sure if amazon will help me out, and i wouldnt sell it to someone if i know it has wifi connection issues. i try to reset my router and it helps for a little bit, but then goes back to the issues i had

seems like we have different issues. Mine is turning on without any connection or list of available networks. Have you tried reboot, forget all networks or so on?
Since i have installed "AOKP Hercules jb mr1 milestone 1 i have few concerns. Please reply soon.
1. How to block caller from call log?

1. AOSP ROMs don't have a built it call/SMS blocking like touchwiz
2. Try changing USB connection mode to MTP. Go to settings > storage > press menu > connection type (might say something else but its the only thing that comes up when you press menu) > choose MTP

Malfunctioned issue is still there
1. I am using AOKP Hercules jb mr1 Milestone. It hangs a lot whenever i attach my phone to my computer. Please let me know what should i do about it.
2. How to set the wallpaper on the launcher and on background which should not move? From where i can i good themes?
3. UCBrowser is not working properly. When open the UCBrowser it's doesnt show it's icons properly. Please let me know how to rectify this error. This is the best browser i have used till now.

Hey guys just fot this tablet Monday, unrooted fresh out the box, it will download apps for a bit them get hung up and stop downloading and eventually show this error. Ive googled it and tried all the tricks that include clearing data im gp app/gp services/ framework. Unlinked my google account, rebooted etc.
2 strange things i noticed.
- my htc m8 on the same nerwork has never had these issues
-I haven't had this happen at my work network
I returned my tab S from Monday, now the new one does it too. I have a brand new Asus RT-AC68U beast of a wifi router. It briefly downloaded some apps once i took down the firewall, then errored out again...
I dunno what else to do i want to keep this tablet I hope someone can help.

perhaps this workaround can help you:
on your pc you can install the chrome browser extension APK Downloader , then when you go to play store, you have an extra button download apk next to the app (all on pc in chrome browser) , once you downloaded the apk you can copy it to the tablet and install it.
Make sure that once you have copied the apk to your device you have enabled "unknown sources" in the settings or else it won't allow you to manually install an apk.
Whenever I have encountered an issue like this in the past I have Odin flashed the device to the latest stock firmware and then during the set up process, made sure that every minute detail entered is correct (or bypass google account installation and wifi connection and install them after the device start up).
Hmm thanks for the suggestions guys. Come to find out my m8 has this issue now so it must be router related somehow...
I too took down firewall of router, saved new settings, rebooted router, turned router off for 5 mins, turned it back on. Restarted lg g3 and then it worked for me. No more Error 495!
