Paranoid Port - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Any devs out there interested in porting a ROM that has some Paranoid Love? Heres a link to one for the international note II.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970335
If you use the hybrid rom then you'll love Paranoid because it gives you way more options with changing the dpi and switching to tablet mode.

I have used Paranoid rom on my Gnex since Paranoid v.1.90 and still using it. PA is the only rom I search for when I got my i317m but unfortunately it isn't available yet. I really want to flash PA on my i317m so that I can utilize all the screen estate. I have tried some hyper rom but it is nothing like the PA.

I second that,I know i read somewhere that Dagr8 was supposed to be working on king kang eventually for the 1317,thats what ive been waiting for.I love that rom had it on the note 1 and was the only one i used.I cant wait for king kang.I hope Dagr8 is still going to try make it happen when he gets time.I would try to do it,but not to computer rom knowledgeable.(lol)

PA ftw!

Give the devs some time. This phone is still in the early stages of development.

[PROJECT]Collaborative Sense Port

Hi
I've created this thread here in general to try an effort to a collaborative port of (any) sense rom to galaxy nexus, lets to the point:
I was trying a different rom instead of the stock. Why? Because a custom rom with sense provide lots of things that stock doesn't have (init.d for example). In my case, I was using Insert Coin for One X, because in the past I had some success with other devices.. well. I didn't had the same success with galaxy nexus.
Of course any rom can be used, we need success in this port disregard the rom used.
Obs.: For people unable to help and able to troll, this isn't a thread for trolling/blaming/"giving the unrequired opinion about it" or "why not buying a HTC phone instead", please, you can create your own thread for that or just use your facebook.
Thanks
I think there was already a thread about a wip port of sense and touchwiz that booted but some major stuff wasn't working.

I have one question about porting sense, what ROM is the best to use as base, cm10 or aosp?
I did some porting on my Droid 3 so I want to try on gnex also.
Thanks

Yeah but as I can see, they're focus in specific versions, and I don't care about versions since it works. And I want a specific focus in join efforts to port sense.

It's relative. AOSP will be more easily imo, but in other hand, cm10 can be adapted, since there's cm10 for tegra (so we can adapt the source code, if someone wants to give a try). I was trying with cm10 4.1.1 btw (cause the InsertCoin is 4.1.1).
My Octo-oraculus says that there are few other threads like this and NONE of them will end up with something actually usable.

My eyes says that most of other threads are about many other subjects and NONE of them are about a collaborative project.
If you can track down swamp goblin he might give some insight he got a sense Tom working on the nexus s

Btw, I was thinking about trying backport the sense for Nexus S (since there's one port that was almost successful), the only problem is... the best port for NS is Gingerbread-based and I dont know how much effort will be needed to adapt a 4.x kernel with a 2.3 rom.

Development

Is it me or has development for the galaxy s3 slowed down dramatically? Have most of the device switched to another device?
Some devs have moved onto the Note II, while others are still developing. I actually think development is still quite strong for our device. There's over 10 AOSP roms that's been updated since March 1st and there's probably over 10 TW roms updated since March. I helped a friend of mine mod his EVO LTE and I felt like his device was way more limited in ROM selection than ours was.
Not only that, the developers have pretty much everything running smoothly. What exactly needs to be updated? TW ROMs are updated, AOSP ROMs are pretty much all 4.2.2...
Once the S4 drops TW development will pick up, and when 5.0 gets released AOSP will pick up.
Right now, I'm running the latest version of Android with a slew of extra features and no bugs at all. Not much to develop.

LiquidSmooth stable release.
Well I see no reason to continue development like the past if most ROMs are pretty stable already sure when a new update comes every devs will push out updates with whatever is new in stock but other than that ROMs are pretty stable and its best to be left like that. That's just my opinion though.

development is still running strong (Have you seen the changes constantly being made to The People's Rom and Mother of all roms for instance?) I run either of those, and they are always adding new features to please the people who run them. So i don't see development slowed at all. As more things trickle down the pipeline via release or port, from another device, they will get added. Development is strong with this one. :silly:
It not really about quantity but quality. We have both. In feel we and our devices are very fortunate for the people who develop for our phones. There are some amazing ROMs to choose from, and even better developers and their teams doing it. Just to name my favorites depending if you like TW or AOSP

I completely agree, If it's working perfectly, not much really to update.. Little things here and there that folks want added... but overall.. not much you can change really.

Most roms are stable now. Most devs are waiting for the official 4.2 as well. Plus some have moved to the Note2 or getting there hands on the S4.

Hello! Glad to have another dev for this device! This phone is smoking hot! As for your questions.. Yes it should be all right! But a test will obviously be in order As for Cm roms.. Non yet! Would be nice, but the features on TW are so nice and this phone can run it amazingly. And for my opinion on a rom would be maybe a highly themed/customizable rom. Kinda like chameleon or avatar rom.

All I can say right now is thank goodness for Wanam's Exposed, that app covers so many things all by its lonesome. I'd be rocking Darthstalker but it changes something that keeps me from visiting most sites via tethering, if your familiar with Team Venom Viper rom for the HTC One that was the best rom I ever used as far as the customization and all the addons and such accessible from the hub they add in, I was so spoiled by that rom it's hard to imagine using anything with less feature rich. I'm sure something like that takes a group effort whereas some of you guys work alone but I would donate my left one for Venom on this phone.

[ROM Request Thread] Want something create/ported? Devs wanna try something new?

Just started this to see what other users might be interested in, plus it will hopefully fuel the interest of our excellent developers to spice up our phone some more. I will kick it off.
I personally love AOSP and especially AOKPA (AOKP with Paranoid Android features) ROMs and would really love to see one here. If that is too boring, then perhaps someone can make something fresh and unique? Maybe a hybrid ROM based on a Stock ROM with AOKP Rom Control or CM Interface built in with as many AOSP apk files that you can get working. It has only been done to my knowledge on Samsung SGS2 by jazzk and can be found here. I used to use this ROM and it was incredible.
Battery life of the stock ROM plus AOKP love........

More stock based custom roms.

+1 for more custom stock based roms... Stock rooted is the best battery and stability I've gotten. Would love more options for that combo.

paranoid android 4 running on kit kat? some kernel optimization would be nice too..perhaps get our phone to run with same specs as the s4?

Theme-able stock with option to have dark UI. I've tried a few kitkat roms and nothing satisfies me more than the stock rom. :good:
just port the stock rom for LG Gx, (basically a G pro with 4.3) ......for our phone and every one would be happy as lark

Dual boot/Multi-boot stock-ish AND AOSP for N3?

For the Note 2, there is this kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239453
It allows you to dual-boot a Samsung and AOSP-based ROM. How cool is that?
For the locked AT&T Note 3, there is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572978
It allows you to keep the locked factory ROM in place, while creating additional ROM "slots" to boot into an alternate ROM.
I, for one, would love the abilty to run a stock Samsung ROM and be able to dual-boot an AOSP based ROM on my Note 3.
Based on the above, it seems to be possible. I am no dev, but I am hoping to entice someone to take this on to make it a reality.
Perhaps a dev fund of some sort? I'll toss in $20. Anyone else interested in this feature?
Happy New Year, BTW...
Ah the infamous devil kernel, yea that's a dope feature and I'm sure in due time devs will cook up a kernel that allows this. CM for our devices is a newborn at this point and needs plenty of nightlies to iron out all the bugs before this can happen.
