Wave_Remaker reborn - Bada Software and Hacking General

Many thanks to holod for providing us the sources of Wave_Remaker.
I added some functionnalities, in particular
- the possibility to modify RBM files (RBM file is automatically saved)
- extraction and conversion as PNG of all images in RBM files
- two additional compression formats for QMG
the new version is 2.9.6.6. I'm waiting for your feedback.
Complete History from 2.9.5.2 :
Added : Browse/Edit directories and files (extension must be associated with at least 1 application)
Added : Extraction and conversion as PNG of all images in RBM
Added : Export all language as CSV (separator are semicolon or tabulation)
Added : Import (Add or Replace) language as CSV
Added : test inconsistencies of RC2 file
Added : All image files inRC2 files are now extracted
Added : RC2 can be open by Drag&Drop also on "FW view" and even if another RC2 is already opened
Fixed : RC2 saving is fixed
Added : if Dump exists, SMT is included by Drag&Drop, if not SMT is opened (in second view, smt always be opened)
Added : if Dump exists, RBM is included by Drag&Drop if not RBM can now be directly opened
Added : some integrity tests added on RC2/CSC/PFS/APP/FFS files
Added : gray background to display white QMG
Added : compressed size of QMG displayed in tooltip
Added : a Dump can be opened by simply Drag&Droping a directory in both view
Added : run through images in RBM with KeyUp/KeyDown
Added : QMG can now be opened directly by Drag&Drop, button "QMG view" in 'utils' tab is now obsolete
Added : Visualization of QMG method 3 / mode 65 + mode 137
Added : Image in RBM can now be replaced

Tested the new feature (replacing pictures in RBM files) and it works great (tested on hardware - S8600).
It will be helpful to save last file location when trying to replace images; so there will be no need to browse to the desired location every time.
Thanks alot

yes, I know this problem, it's because I refill the treeview with the new saved RBM so WR lost the current position.
I will find a solution.

also, how can we change the 2nd picture?
after the bootup picture you know the animation, how can we change that?
and the last picture? (after the sim card reading animation)

for RC2, replacing the image with an 32b image may be possible in the next version, but it will only be saved in 16b

3- The pictures in Rsrc2 are changed and the edited file seems to be OK (file size same as original file), but when trying to flash "ERR : NAK_BAD_SEC_CODE 0" happens. tried with BMP, JPG and PNG and Debug Level 0.

[GSCRIPT MOD] HOW TO change system fonts in Android UPDATED 06/08/2010

Hi guys,
another day, another tip!
Today I will explain how to change your system fonts at will, but as download and set them free.
You will say that our phone has this function ... But it is not true, or rather, this function has to pay.
To avoid spending money unnecessarily, I will explain where to download millions of characters and how to apply them in a few clicks!
Let's start!
What we need:
- Samsung Galaxy S i9000
- Phone rooted with STAND ALONE PROCEDURE (all credits to Leshak);
- IMPORTANT, BUSYBOX from Market;
- Gscript from Market (all credits of this app goes to PinkVenture, if you like it, buy a full version);
- My tips
What will do:
- Download any font you like from THIS SITE (all credit goes to this site) or any site that lets you download free fonts;
- Create a folder called Fonts in you internal sdcard:
/sdcard/Fonts
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
- Rename the downloaded font in 2 files called(2 files with differents names, same main file):
DroidSans.ttf
DroidSans-Bold.ttf
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
- Copy those file in /sdcard/Fonts;
- Start Gscript, leave it to take Superuser acces, then press on:
Menu --> Add script --> Load file
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
and close it;
- a new folder called gscript was created;
- Download my zip file contenets all of 3 scripts that we need:
BackupSystemFonts - backup all your system fonts from /system/fonts to /sdcard/Fonts/bak
ChangeSystemFonts - change the system fonts
RestoreBakSystemFonts - restore the backed up system fonts from /sdcard/Fonts/bak to /system/fonts
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
- Copy all 3 scripts in the gscript folder on internal sdcard:
/sdcard/gscript
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
- Start Gscript and then press:
Menu --> Add script --> Load file
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
select the script that you want and check Need SU? then save;
- A new script is added!
- Press on the script you want and it start!
- Well done, the new font is applied!!
Archive password: socketandroid84
Needless to say that now you can choose any font you want and apply it without any problem with only 2 clicks quickly and safely!
I hope that the trick will be useful!
Update 06/08/2010 - LOOP SCREEN RESOLVED
- Before apply the scripts install BUSYBOX from MARKET; there is a bug in the old version of busybox installed by the update.zip for root our phone. It's install an old version of busybox that doesn't use the "cp" command.
So, when you go to remove and copy the new fonts though the script, it's remove the old ones but doesn't copy the new ones. You can resolve this bug simply install the last version of BUSYBOX from market!

Bravo!
I was wondering how to apply new fonts that I want besides those
from manufacturer. Thanks a lot
Thanks. First time I tried changing fonts (not using this method) I ended up reflashing the whole thing because it got stuck on the i9000 welcome screen so be carefull dealing with fonts (yeah sounds weird I know) ^_^
I thought we can change font:
Menu->Settings->Sound and Display->Font Style
I am still trying to figure out how to add more fonts.
Thanks for the easy method.
My results:
is it possible to change the font size too? because some of the 3rd party fonts look really nice, but a bit too small when applied.

Are there any prerequisities for the fonts? Because I tried one and the phone got stuck in bootscreen, so I was forced to make a reflash of FW.
I found out that I have fonts with 2 different icons (all files are .ttf), one icon has TT and the other one has O on it (see attached screenshot).

Thanks guys, I will try the "real" ttf font.
EDIT: working like a charm, thanks
this is awesome!
Crap, I did the same thing - Gets stuck while booting...
Might want to give a clearer warning in the first post about the need for a true, ttf. I'm apparently way too anxious to get things going than reading all posts
ok, how do i reset? because i got stuck while booting after doing this smh....
heck same here end up stuck at boot screen. is this really due to the font i want to switch? how do i know it's a real ttf font?
Every FONTS in this site work very well:
FONTS
If you want to reset, reflash or press the power button for 10 sec i think... search in the wiki!
For me, it worked once with 2.1, then, after flashing another 2.1 firmware it got stuck while booting.
With 2.2 it doesn't seem to work...
Stuck at loading screen too, only option is to flash ?? or is there any other option ?
Kind of lost how to reset the phone.
Is the only way to do it by pressing Volume down and turning it on?
Not in the mood to lose all my Data. :-/

[SCRIPT] ROM Packager [UPDATE 7/2]

Hi All,
I thought I might share this little script I have made.
Very Simply it is a Batch file that Will UnTar / Tar Oidin compatible files to flash. It also selects the relevant files for each type (Phone/PDA/CSC/Full).
Now also will create .md5 files for flashing and can compress to 7 zip!.
It will automatically use the files needed to make a CSC, Phone, PDA or Full type flash file and can auto split a Single Flash package into 3 separate ones!
It is very basic but very handy for creating a ROM package for a certain Country/CSC or with a certain Modem.
Also Splits a single ROM into a PDA/Phone/CSC.
UPDATE:
7/2 - v2 - Added MD5 support to script. Use v2.
9/2 - v3 - Lots of code cleanup, should be easier to use. Also added 7-zip support!
* Note directory layout has now changed, less confusing now I hope
If this really works, then You bohdans are fu**ing AWESOME!
Confirmed to be working on ZSJG4
I use peazip for the same work, but an automated script is way better. Congrats.
md5sum support

Hi,
Issue is fixed in Version 3. Also know has a packaged and extracted folder instead of in and out, hopefully that will make more sense. Tar's, MD5's and 7-zip files are in Packaged, all the raw files are in extracted.
Also added 7-zip support as requested.

Hi,
I have created a PDA package of XWJS5 with SpeedMod k13a 500hz using your APP. Worked correctly except for one thing. The main ******.tar file containing all the files wasn't detected by option 8 whether I put it in /extracted or in the main folder. Where do I put it? I used Peazip ultimately to extract my *.tar.
PS : I used your V3

Nice idea once I used Win 7. WinXP does not have CHOICE.EXE/COM by default. SET /p works with minor configuration.

It would take a lot of work. It will involve changing every CHOICE command. I have rewritten the main and full sections.
I believe pulling the choice command out of win 7 (c:\windows) might be easier.
I will test it later today.
Edit: The windows 7 choice won't work
The first menu is easy...
Code:
rem CHOICE /C:123456789 /N /M "Please Select Type of ROM to Package:"
rem IF ERRORLEVEL 9 GOTO EXIT
rem IF ERRORLEVEL 8 GOTO EXTRACT
rem IF ERRORLEVEL 7 GOTO COMPRESS
rem IF ERRORLEVEL 6 GOTO MD5
rem IF ERRORLEVEL 5 GOTO MSPLIT
rem IF ERRORLEVEL 4 GOTO MCSC
rem IF ERRORLEVEL 3 GOTO MPHONE
rem IF ERRORLEVEL 2 GOTO MPDA
rem IF ERRORLEVEL 1 GOTO MFULL
SET menuchoice=0
SET /P menuchoice=Please make your decision:
ECHO.
IF %menuchoice%==1 (GOTO MFULL)
IF %menuchoice%==2 (GOTO MPDA)
IF %menuchoice%==3 (GOTO MPHONE)
IF %menuchoice%==4 (GOTO MCSC)
IF %menuchoice%==5 (GOTO MSPLIT)
IF %menuchoice%==6 (GOTO MD5)
IF %menuchoice%==7 (GOTO COMPRESS)
IF %menuchoice%==8 (GOTO EXTRACT)
IF %menuchoice%==9 (GOTO EXIT)
The second gets complicated. It will take some rewriting.
Code:
REM CHOICE /C YN /M "WARNING: Do you wish to Continue? (This will Delete any FULL.tar files in \compressed)"
REM IF ERRORLEVEL 2 GOTO MENU
set /p yn="WARNING: Do you wish to Continue? (This will Delete any FULL.tar files in \compressed)"
if "%yn%"=="" (echo Not entry)
if /I "%yn%"=="n" (GOTO MENU)
if /I "%yn%"=="y" (GOTO MFULL_TAR)
If others can use Vista and Win 7 "CHOICE" command I probably would not invest a lot of time in it unless you want too. SET /P is universal and works for WIN XP and WIN7.
I have WIN 7 at work and it does as it should.
Ok,
So i know this is for the I9000, but theoretically will it work for the US galaxy S versions?
I'm wanting to create an Odin Flash file for the Galaxy S SCH-i500 "Showcase" since we're the only Galaxy S that doesn't have one.. And if I could use this to get this done it would be VERY helpful!!!
I tried creating a .tar from zipping my showcase_system.rfs and the zImage together but that didn't work.. I don't know if it's just b/c we don't have a pit file or what..
Any suggestions would be VERY helpful and appreciated...
Thanks

Creating/Installing Custom Bootanimation For Android

C r e a t i n g/ I n s t a l l i n g
C u s t o m B o o t a n i m a t i o n F o r A n d r o i d
Step 1 :- CREATE ANIMATION IMAGES
Open Photoshop(or any other image editor).Make the background color black and then place the image layer above background layer and make its opacity 0% and save it as PNG named 0000 and then keep on increasing the opacity (Remember name for First Image should be 0000.png,for second 0001.png,for third 0002.png and so on.Save them in 240x320 resolution(your device's resolution)
TIP:-Use splatter or any other brushes:-Same as above but the difference is you will not change the opacity it should be 100% and the splatters on the image will increase with new one.(IT LOOKS QUITE IMPRESSIVE)
Step 2:-
Make two folder named part0 and part1. Put your images created in those folder.For Ex. 0000.png to 0009.png in part0 and 0010.png to 0070.png in part1.
Step3 :-
Create desc.txt
and write:-
240 320 24
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1
and save it
------------------------------------------------------------------
EXPLANATION of 240 320 24
p 1 0 part0 :-
240 320(your device's resolution)
24(frames per second.......higher the no. faster will your bootanimation)
p(pointer to tell it to look at new commands)
1(no. of times this section of bootanimation will play....0=infinite)
0(Pause....0=no pause 10=10sec pause repeating or moving on next line)
part0(folder in which your animation images are contained)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[/B] Step 4:-
Create a folder named bootanimation and in that put part0,part1 and desc.txt.ZIP the contents of bootanimation folder(REMEMBER COMPRESSION METHOD SHOULD BE STORE)
Step 5:-
Copy bootanimation.zip to your sd card.
Step 6:-
Using Root Explorer(or any other alternatives) copy bootanimation.zip to system\media (Remember change mount to R/W)
STEP 7 :-
Reboot,ENJOY and SHOW-OFF! :laugh:

[HOW TO] For beginner| Deodex and Odex back | 3 Way Ext. Power Menu| CRT-OFF| MWC

This kitchen is for begin easily with moding.
this is written for oxeded rom
Remember you need custum kernel (latest siyah or boeffla or perseus......... )
Why I do it? Coz when I flash a new rom I want extended power menu, CRT and MWC immediately so I decide to learn how to do.
This kitchen is done specially for this 3 mod but the scripts are very simple and you can easily modify them.
remember you need custum kernel (latest siyah or boeffla or perseus... )
You must have all drivers installed on your PC, ADB, 7zip, java…
Your phone must be rooted + busybox installed …
Be sure your firewall does not block ADB…
When you install a new rom unzip the archive WORK1.7z and change the name example WORK_XXEMA2 connect your phone then open then follow English menu.bat
You have a script in French
Forgive my English…
I am working under seven 64 bits… I not test it in another system…
If this post helps you push the thank button
You can use it like you want but don’t forget to put a link to this post.
script updated now u can reoxed without quitting first script
Let’s see the job:
Launch english menu (english) or menu (french)
let the script opened all long your mod you just follow all steps
for 1,16 and 17 you must plug your phone
The number 1 is very important without it you can do nothing…
1 = download from phone all the framework, FlashBarServices.apk and init.rc.
Init .rc is saved as init.doc for you open it and manually extract the BOOTCLASSPATH and write it in framework\BOOTCLASSPATH.txt
2= copy android.policy.odex and services.odex and FlashBarServices.odex to the mod directory
3= baskmali android.policy.odex to deoxeded it
4= edit GlobalActions.smali in android.policy (if you search it you’ll lose time!)
5= edit GlobalActions$SinglePressAction.smali in android.policy
6 = edit PhoneWindowManager.smali in android.policy
7 = copy the 3 globalactionsfiles files to android.policy for mod extended power menu
8 = smali android.policy to get classes.dex (the classes.dex is incorporated in the jar) and copy originals files and moded files to auto oxeder
9 = baskmali services.odex to deoxeded it
10 = edit PowerMangerService$ScreenBrightnessAnimator.smali in services
11 = edit MultiWindowManagerService.smali in services
12 = smali services to get classes.dex and copy originals files and moded files to auto oxeder
13 = baskmali FlashBarServices.odex to deoxeded it
14 = edit FlashBarInfo.smali in FlashBarServices
15 = smali FlashBarServices to get classes.dex and copy originals files and moded files to auto oxeder
16 = re-oxed an framework exemple android.policy.jar or Services.jar and send it to phone (plug the phone and be sure your firewall allow ADB)
17 = re-oxed an apk exemple FlashBarServices and send it to phone (plug thephone and be sure your firewall allow ADB)
echo 18 quit
After you connect your phone then open auto oxeder and you run the script (it’s untouched coz perfect) and you follow instructions it’s very simple.
Advices :
do a nandroid backup before all !!!
If you have a box like this
Code:
[LEFT]#getter for: Lcom/android/server/PowerManagerService;->mScreenBrightnessHandler:Landroid/os/Handler;
invoke-static {v7}, Lcom/android/server/PowerManagerService;->access$7300(Lcom/android/server/PowerManagerService;)Landroid/os/Handler;
move-result-object v7
const/16 v9, 0xa[/LEFT]
Push Ctrl then click in the box for select t all or you will just select the visible part of the text.
In documentation.7z you have copy of all mod, an init.rc saved as init.pdf inside you have BOOTCLASSPATH in red, you must remove all path in this text (system/framework) and save the result in BOOTCLASSPATH.txt (you have an exemple of BOOTCLASSPATH.txt)
MWC you take MWC apk here LegendK95 [MOD][4.1.2][Deodex/Odex]MultiWindow Complete Control {Deodex XXELLA Added!}
if u have trouble with Adb didable firewall to see if it is responsable
when you want to mod your phone remember that you often need custum kernel coz stock kernel not allow you to do what you want
Hope I forget nothing. Good moding

brave person to try?
another tip:
install PhilZ Touch with aroma filemanager
copy your originals files in sdcard for exemple in sdcard/sauve.
if you have a pbm bootloop... you reboot recovery and open aroma filemanager and restore your originals files to the good place.
if you open /system in aroma and you find nothing = go back and mount system, for next time you tick in aroma the option automount
this tip is valable also for all thing you want to copy in system if you have not root explorer and it is free
another tip:
X-plore Filemanager is free with it you can manage root (be carefull with root files )
I want to try it to enable crt off effect on my s3 with Android Hd Revolution...what happens if i fail?
Will i brick my phone?
Also it's impossible to download your files without registering...

no u can, there simple script with adb, one of them is auto oxeder script
very easy to use.
no u can download without registering (perhaps 4 shared change ? ) i'll upload it in my box !
it is very easy to use an i have done an update for reoxeding without quiting first script
do as i say in my tip = install phill recovery and aroma file manager and try it to be sure it work.
create a directory in sdcard and copy (if u have not root explorer do it with aroma)from /system/framework android.policy .odex and .jar and services.odex and .jar go to /system/app and copy flashbarservice.odex and .jar
it u have pbm you reboot recovery and copy these file back to there place and redo your mod to see where u fail

plug it and do english menu (if you speak english) or menu if you speak french.
when you put choose number 1 in the script it will do all that for you,
after you enter2 and it will do what explained ....
it seem you not lauch english menu or menu
for choice number1, 16 and 17 phone must be connected to PC
other thing when you edit files(4,5,6,10,11,14) the file is opened in notepad but you must write in your mod , you have in documentation.7z all mod or you can open cristiano matos guide and follow it....

Hello,
I just tried it and it works just fine.
A word of advice for people who are afraid this can mess up their phone, all the original files are in \framework\ directory, so if something doesn't work simply replace the new modded files with the ones found in that directory and you're good to go

belive me the op is very clear :
attach phone to computer
unzip work1 and documments
rename work1 directory with the rom u want to mod exemple work1_xxema2
in this directory lauch english menu.bat (or open a cmd and launch it)
you have 17 options
type 1 and enter = if it work alle framework are dowloaded to work1_xxema2/framework
if not work = your firewall block ADB so disable it and do 1 enter
after that you folow all step 2 to 17
in step where you edit files= 4,5,6,10,11,14 = the files are edited in notepad just make the good change and save (for the good changes in document you have the 3 mods in pdf documents, or you can follow cristiano matos OP )
my job is just for you gain time all take 20 minutes !!!
Trying right now with the support of a paper sheet.
In this sheet i'm writing one by one passage (in italian) so if i'm succesful i could write a step by step ultra noob guide to improve your efforts

[Guide] How to port Stock 2.3.6 apps to cm7

Warning:
This guide isn't orginally by me, I found it on internet and posting (with some edits) here to help people
The original post : http://epiccm.blogspot.com/2012/01/porting-touchwiz-apps-for-cm7.html

Many stock Samsung apps are awesome and beautifully looking, also cyanogen mod is fast and high customizable, you dont need to sacrfice CM& for good looking apps anymore
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
STEPS:
1- get your desired App from System/app + twframework.jar and twframework-res.apk from System/framework
2- Decompile all of them Using APK Manager OR Apktool OR Virtous Ten Studio or any other apps
Guide for decompile,compile : HERE
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
3- Remove the library dependence from the AndroidManifest.xml
The line looks like this:
Code:
and remove any lines contain ‘com.device.samsung’
This to make it install on non samsung roms
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
4- Copy the twframework code into the app source.
‘twframework.jar.out/smali/’
The app now contains both its own code, and all the needed TouchWiz code. There’s a small chance it might work if you recompile it now, but it probably also needs resources
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
.
5-Update the resources
a. Add the needed files/parts
search for any ‘@touchwiz:’ parts in any xml file under res/.
Next, you will need to merge everything under /res/ from the twframework-res.apk.
Copy over anything that doesn’t already exist. Files under /res/values/ (Except public.xml) will need to be merged, meaning insert all the values from the framework into the app, before the closing tag (Keep the XML valid). If your missing any resources, re-compiling the APK will fail
b. Remove the touchwiz references
Replace every ‘@touchwiz:’ with just an ‘@’
Example :
Code:
@touchwiz:color/
to
@color/
Copied directly from OP :
There are some calls to IDs in the 0x20 range, this is an issue because as far as I know, the 0x20 range can only be provided by the system somehow. For the Calendar app, I had to remove setIcon calls in a few activities to prevent ResourceNotFound exceptions.
If you remove them, then some things like images might not work. I also found that just removing them can cause random NullPointer errors.
Note: While working on the Task Manager, it became more complex. I had to update the old 0x20 references to the references within the new package.
After the resources are added, decompile it again, so the added resources show up in the /res/values/public.xml
Search for the old 0x20 value, and update it to the new value. If you include the /smali/touchwiz/ directory, then you can just search for the hex value and you will get the name of it from the TW R.smali files, and you can find the updated hex value in the /res/value/public.xml file
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
6. Re-compile
7. Sign the apk using platform key or testkey from HERE
GUIDE TO SIGN APK
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Most apps uses testkey but if you had any permission error, use platform key or search google for the error
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
8. Install
adb push /system/app/
OR
using system app installer
OR
using any root explorer

Its a great honor for me that a good developer like you admires my work
On a side note : many devs ported stock apps (generally clock widget and launcher and task manager) to CM7 but no one ever shared, I don't like those who don't share their experiences
