No lmao. If u dont know the difference between att radios and tmobile radios, then id advise u not to even bother with rooting and flashing. U can only get and will only get EDGE/2G data speeds. Period

Although this is quite frustrating let's try to take this in our favor. There should be a CDMA version. Would that help in fixing our radio issues in the job ports for our phones?

Yes it is bad but what else do you expect when our device is released with a software version thats three revisions older than the same phone released in Korea . Im just hoping lg is using the time wisely and trying to fix the radio

We have known this was coming. It sucks now that its here, but there definitely are CDMA carriers, although GSM is the standard, in Europe that might have what we need to get JB on our device.

There are CDMA carriers in Sweden, Russia, Belarus, Poland and many others. While GSM is definitely the standard and overwhelming favorite of the majority of nations, and exclusive in many as well, I personally have used a CDMA phone in Europe.

That is possible, but I'm fairly certain that Sweden is.
I did read once that certain frequencies are reserved by law for GSM which in some countries would probably make it illegal.
ALSO... Once I thought about it, I realized it has been like four years since I used said CDMA phone. Maybe it has since gone the way of cigarette commercials and I'm just behind the times.

To the OP.
Sprint has had JB for over a month. Not sure where you have been. Not a Korean JB port or CM. They have actually had stock JB for the LS970.
They even released an update to fix a bug in it already.

Yes, it is for sure. Not rumor, not intuition, it is a fact. It still is just going to take a few more weeks. CM should pop up in the next week or so too.

Moving to england from america.

I have an att note 2. And I will be moving to the united kingdom in a few months. Is it possible to use a carrier there with my i317? With some software and a sim card? Or will I have to get a new phone?
If so what carriers will work?

Your speeds wont be as good considering they run on different bands. I suggest trading for an n7100 or n7105 before you go

T-Mobile working on at&t s3

So as the title states I need some help. I'm trying to get a phone and its an unlocked at&t s3 and I'm trying to figure out if it will work well on our T-Mobile carrier. Will I get 4g can I get SMS? Any help?
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
Yes, I'm using one right now and I get "4g" and 4g LTE as well.. "4g" might not have as good coverage depending on your area because it will use the 1900 frequency T-Mobile has recently started to roll out instead of the 1700 that T-Mobile mainly has for 3g/hspa.. But LTE will work just fine, and it is fast! heck you will even get WiFi calling as long as you flash a T-Mobile based ROM

Can't you just flash a T-Mobile baseband? And also if it'd and at&t phone how can you flash a T-Mobile s3 ROM?
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
No do NOT flash a T-Mobile baseband.. Only stick with at&t basebands or bootloaders.. The only thing you can safely flash is Roms and kernels.. You can flash roms through recovery and most should work just fine.. And BTW there actually is a mod on the at&t thread to enable the 1700 aws, but the mod wipes after a reboot and you must do it every time you reboot.. It doesn't sound that bad, so you might want to try it out if you end up getting it and have bad or no 3g/h with 1900 in your area

So I can flash a T-Mobile s3 room

Yes as he said you can flash roms and kernels nothing else.
And dont be confused and think a rom is equivalent to firmware. Its not.

Well I know that I was just a little confused as to the way he worded it. So I've tried reading over their some but so far all I've come up with are old threads where people were trying to get 3g to work. Supposedly its permanent any idea how I can tell what frequency my location runs on
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
I'm pretty sure there is. I think it may be a dialer code that you can use to go in and test to find out. Cant remember for sure, but thought I'd mention it in case it helps someone else answer or helps your search.
If you aren't able to find anything ill try to remember to look later tonight.

But doesn't the article say that they're moving 3g to 1900 and then 1700 will be for HSDPA+ and 2100 will be for lte

My bad, you were right. I had things a bit mixed up I guess!
Sorry for the confusion.

Though, they will only be able to offer hspa+42 on the aws spectrum I believe. And it'll only account for a small portion in the end.

these are the two threads i was able to find about it

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771021
the first one is the newest method and the one that won't stick after reboots.. the second one will downgrade the phone to ics, and people are saying that flashing a t999 recovery and then a tmo jb rom will still keep 1700 enabled but i haven't tried any of them
Well you guys thanks for the help. Now I just have to actually find a new phone
