[Q] Slim Bean - ATT Galaxy SIII - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I recently installed Slim Bean v 3.1 on my ATT Galaxy SIII. However is not letting me add icons to the bottom line of the home screen. It only allows the initial 5 icons.
ALso I though this was a DPI issue so I changed DPI. But no everything is all over the place. Is there any way to fix these issues?
Thanks!

DPI is supposed to be set to 320, is that what you set it too?

I set it to 320 and everything is huge. I'll have to wipe data and reinstall Slim bean. Do you know how to fix the icons issue?

320 is the size its supposed to be. After I set that all my icons were fine. I'm not using Slim anymore though.

Isn't that usually determined by the launcher settings? In Nova settings Desktop Grid can be adjusted. FYI - I use the stock 241 dpi with Nova.

Cyanogen lcd density

I have set lcd density to 200 running cm rc2 and the icons look fuzzy (time looks fine though). Whats the problem?
Also, what other roms give me the option to change density?

Change the settings and try different numbers, you can use any rom and have lcd density, download it from the market.
I guess that wasnt clear - what roms are themed well enough to work with lower density?
Can someone attach lcd density here please.

open /system/build.prop in a text editor using root explorer and change the value there

Its actually ADW not CM that's the issue I am running the iron man ADW theme and its fine with 200 density

LOW <240 LCD Density DPI themes...

does anyone know of any projects in place for this?
These seems to be the apps that need this the most:
Samsung email client with no security
samsung launcher and dialer and contacts.
Now when running on low dpi I have found alternatives for all of these to make it work with my 180 LCD Density DPI. however just curious if anyone knows of someone who is working on themes for low lcd density dpi?
Did you get the stock dialer to work under 180? I'm running 200 and looking for a fix. THe dialer doesnt fill the screen.
- ReDz
That's because it's scaling the dialer because it's themed (TW based roms) if your on a CM ROM then it looks normal and not shrunken to the top left corner.
Also makes the calculator and clock look the same way.
Don't think there is a fix for that mate. Go CM9.

[Q] do any Density / resolution modifier app work?

I've tried the LCD Resolution app on my ICS 4.0.4 Arc S and the layout of the menus etc were pretty messed up. do any of those apps work well on the Arc S? and if so which one and whats a good dpi setting to use to improve the visual experience?
Sometimes you'll have to experiment with numbers 1-9 on the dpi scale. Example I'm at 240dpi, in order for my stuff to look correct I need to set the rest of my dpi on a 3. So example, my usual dpi will be 163dpi. If I do anything other than 3 besides 240 mg screen and information will be messed up.
Edit : Certain launchers will also make a difference as they may be specified to work at the original dpi or be flexible to a new dpi.
Edit2 : Sometimes certain roms don't like dpi, a few sense and ics roms here on the Droid Incredible have issues with the dpi, if I got below 200, sense and ics roms cause certain things to stretch or stay the same dpi even though its a new dpi. Example, sense lock screen gets smaller and does not fit the screen so its off. I try to avoid using dpi on sense because of this and many other reasons, AOSP is a great place to use dpi.

Because using dpi messes the market up I use LCD Density Modded Pro. It allows you to get items from the market your android can't normally find.

cant change dpi in JB?

hi !
i was thinking
how would the tablet mode look on JB?
so i changed the dpi to 192
the rom did not boot
i tried other dpi's but this isnt working either
has someone managed to get it working?
or does someone know how to get this working ?
It's strange, but 320 was default, so I tried 290. Works perfectly. Don't know about tablet mode as I didn't go any lower

I'm running 240 dpi (changed it in build.prop) and my Nexus behaves as it should. Of course, the launcher looks ugly and doesn't scale at all, but no issues besides that.

Change just the lock screen DPI?

I've been running the awesome SkyDragon ROM/kernel with texdroider running the DPI at 560 and it's awesome. Today I got the circle case with wireless charging back and because of the different DPI the clock doesn't line up. I just changed back to stock DPI and the clock is fine but I realized just how much I enjoyed the rest of the phone at 570. I downloaded App Settings to try but I can't find the name of the lockscreen apk. Anyone know or have a better solution? Thanks.

So just in case anyone is wondering or has the same problem, it seems the easiest option is to set SystemUI back to 640 with App Settings. That fixes the lockscreen circle back to the proper position. It affects the status bar and nav bar as well, but it still keeps everything else the same.
As you can see in the screenshot here the status bar icons are proportionally a little too big, but not horrible. I shrank the nav bar back down with G3 Tweaksbox.
RESOLVED
Necroposting for the purpose of this being the first result in Google for G3 Lockscreen DPI.
Figured it out.
Undo any and all previous DPI tweaks.
Use Texdroider DPI, set to 530 reboot.
Install xposed AppSettings, enable it. Reboot.
In AppSettings look for an entry called key com.android.keyguard. Enable it and set DPI to 640 (this is stock). Under that select/check Apply res to widgets.
Save (Maybe Reboot also).
I am going to revive this thread and thread jack.
Does anyone know how to change the DPI for the lockscreen in Lollipop? My post above only works for KitKat, the package no longer exists in LP

I believe since everybody is silent about this issue it is best to set the phone lock to none and revert to a 3rd party lockscreen at least that is what I did.
